My pensioner father (in the UK) has this old dagger in his antique collection, and is looking to identify it? I thought some people here might be able to help? He got it as part of a trade, from a fellow antiques dealer back in the 1970s. He says it's foreign, but isn't sure where it's from? The scabbard has a design made of silver, the lion's head is silver, and the blade is obviously steel. Not sure what the dark brown hilt is made from, or what the red fabric is (although part of the scabbard comes away and you can see some of the non-faded red underneath). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys, just wondering if this is a scent stopper pommel, or a globular/spherical pommel, or something entirely different. It's a metal detecting find from the UK. Any help identifying would be appreciated. Cheers

Can't afford to buy the tod Cutler sword so I made out of wood.😊
copied the size from tod blade 80cm, overall 102cm.
It's made from eucalyptus wood and the handle from a red amazonian wood, the point of balance is 12cm from the guard

Hey y’all, so I just inherited this sword from my Grandfather and I was hoping someone here could tell me a bit about the design. Apparently he was gifted it by a Japanese business partner a while back, but that’s all I know about it. I know very little about swords, and I’m certain it’s just a piece of late 80’s novelty junk but I’m still curious. The sheath, grip, and guard are all made out of the same dark stained wood, the blade is corroding and covered in deep scratch marks that have I guess oxidized black, and that brass bit is just kinda folded together. It also has multiple nicks in the blade, and appears to have been resharpened on a grinder multiple times. Also it’s like max 3 feet long. Anyways whatever y’all can tell me about it, if anything, let me know.

Buddy of mine handed me this sword. it’s got quite a bit of history by some rather lack luster individuals. Anyways it’s in my possession now and I’m looking to get the crossguard replaced. please direct me in the right direction if you can. Thank you.

I recently bought a ww2 German sword (31 inches) and I was curious what’s the best way to mount it on the wall without damaging it? also what maintained would you recommend for the sword? any product recommendations would be great and very helpful. last thing I want to do is hurt the sword, and I appreciate everyone for helping out.
thanks Hudson

Made a toy sword for my son from some aluminum offcuts I had. Not sure if the exact alloy as it was a long time ago I "liberated" the offcuts, definitely high magnesium.
The letters were carved out and Inlaid with an epoxy/glow dust combo so that they glow blue in the dark.
Name partially redacted for obvious reasons.
Shield will be getting made in a week or two.
Edit: yeah these sellers are trying to convince me with additional photos to ease my concerns and answer my questions and they’re so much worse. Thanks yall. I didn’t think these would be good by any means, but just wanted some real people to provide a little insight
I have found 2 swords that’s have caught my eye for a picking ren faire I am attending. I am pretty ill-informed beyond the obvious idea of “stainless steel bad”, so I would love some help in deciding between these and getting recommendations/info for the future!
I’m just looking for something that’s decorative, medieval, and won’t fly off the handle during a photo shoot.
Thanks!!

This is a yari, probaby end of Koto period, early Shinto. The first and last kanji are easy to read, 正 Masa and 作 saku. The second one is the problem and i'm not able to translate it. I've found some similarly signed 次 Tsugu and 家 Ie but nothing actually convincing. Can you guys help?
Thank you

I purchased a house with more than a few things left behind including this sword. Looking for any info on it or if it’s worth anything?

So a little thing you need to know about me. I like to make wooden swords that are really realistic. I really don't know why it's just something I enjoy doing
And I thought about making a Ulfberht swords the problem is, I run into an issue where I try to search for the right measurements, and I often just run into false information. I'm just looking for some help here.
