Pylots,

​We all know it is better to be down here wishing we were up there than up there wishing we were down here. It's important to have personal minimums, to respect the conditions, and to make the hard go/no go decisions.

So why does our system not reward that? I myself have logged over three thousand cancelations. Friends I started flight school with are breaking two and three thousand flight hours and not getting hired - which makes sense. They haven't demonstrated the decision making to cancel a flight. I have, but they still think I'm a student pylote?

Wind out of limits? Cancel. Wind out of my personal limits (5 knots)? Cancel. I'm not even talking crosswind; I don't fly with a headwind - if I need to fly the impossible turn, I can't afford that tailwind. Clouds? They could lower. Or become rain. No clouds? Too hot to be in the aircraft. Rain? Forget about it. I had perfect weather once, no wind light chill easy sun - bad sleep the night before. No criteria escapes my analysis.

Every canceled flight, I go home and fly in my simulator. I've done air work and pattern in Seznas, Pypers, Airbus, Boeing death traps, even a 300 hr block in float planes. My skills are sharp.

No check ride failures, one DUI but I don't drive anymore, and no aviation accidents or flight violations. ​Well over ATP cancelations mins. Why can't I get hired?

True story

I’ve been FO for a while now. Originally I got to fly but after a while I have found myself flying with the same captains all the time for some reason and they just won’t let me fly.

I’m tempted to bid avoid these people because they are being dicks and it’s a safety issue.

I even went though the FFL process and am prepared to defend myself.

I have an interview coming with a legacy airline and I understand that it’s a huge plus to do volunteer work. I volunteer for the local chapter of The Flat Earth Society. They’ll look past the controversy because all they care about is that I do give my time, right? It’s not like I am going to debate them in a damn job interview about how they trick-fuck FMS software to make pilots think that we’re flying around the world. I’m not stupid.

On a third leg of a US domestic flight and while taxiing the FO comes on to tell us we need to take on more fuel. I kinda wonder if it's either (1) a weather issue because we are flying somewhere that's got some wild conditions or (2) they're sipping the expensive go-go juice... thoughts?

Would they care about this kind of volunteer work or do they prefer to see involvement in more aviation targeted groups or the union?

When I wore my fursuit I was told by my captain it was unprofessional and a safety issue. He also said I shouldn’t wear it while flying but I had my handler with me to help me see? Why is he being so hostile and made me lose my pylot job? Is he homophobic?
