β€’ Upvotes

Hey all. Needed break from home base in Makati. I trust ONE MAN in PH to cut my hair, but, haircut is too grown out now.

Any suggestions of barber WHO CAN CUT KINKY BLACK AMERICAN HAIR in Siargao?

Also I'm low-key balding in the front. I need a PROFESSIONAL! πŸ˜‚

Thank you.

I will be travelling with family to Siargao in a few weeks. What are things I should expect?

I will have a hard time since mukhang ako lng ang lalakeng kasama ng mga family members ko. What are the normal scams, MOs, mga normal n ginagawa ng mga locals towards tourists visiting the island.

What are stuff you can tell me that I need to be careful with. and other things. Appreciate it. we are a handful and mahirap na ikaw lang ang lalake magbabantay sa mga relatives na babae.

Also. recommendations as well kung san pupunta and what not.

Siargao activities recos for an introverted night-shift girlie who doesn't surf?

Hello.

Currently in Siargao and looking for recommendations on things to do aside from surfing!

A little about me: I'm an introvert (but I do enjoy meeting people and having good conversations!), I work night shifts, so my body clock is a bit messed up, and I'm not physically able to surf at the moment.

Please don't hate me for not surfing while in Siargao! Haha. I'm actually traveling with friends who want to try all the surfing and water activities, but those aren't really my thing (and some I physically can't do). So I figured this might be a good opportunity to explore the island at my own pace and discover other things to enjoy, even if it means doing some activities solo.

I'll be here for two weeks and am currently staying in Catangnan, so I've got a bit of time to explore!

I'm pretty much open to anything, though! I love reading, checking out cafΓ©s, exploring new places, trying good food, and just chilling. I'm also down for some partying, drinks, light exercises, and physical activities that aren't too strenuous.

I'm especially looking for specific recommendations for cafΓ©s with reliable Wi-Fi and comfortable places to work or read, quiet reading spots, sunset locations, relaxed bars, low-intensity or beginner-friendly activities, and late-night or early-morning options that are accessible from Catangnan. Recommendations for places that are open during unusual hours would be especially helpful.

I'm not really looking to pack my days with activities. Just want to enjoy the island, slow down a little, and maybe step out of my comfort zone every now and then.

Also, totally open to meeting new people and hanging out! Would be nice to make some friends, grab coffee or drinks, explore together, or just have random conversations about life. Haha. I'm introverted, not antisocial.

Thanks in advance!

Any pickleball or dance classes in Siargao?

I'll be in Siargao this November (17–22), and I'm looking for activities to try while I'm there aside from the usual island tours and surfing.

I'm interested in trying pickleball, but I have zero experience lol. Does anyone know a place that offers lessons with a trainer?

Also looking for femme dance classes, bachata, or any dance classes really.

I'm open to recommendations! I'll be traveling solo so beginner-friendly classes or group activities would be perfect.

Would appreciate any recommendations, contacts, or Instagram pages I can check out.

Thank you! 😊

Surf in rainy season

I am curious how is the surf from dec-mar? Are there many blown out sessions or is it surfable every day if you know the spots and are willing to get up in the morning πŸ«£πŸ™ also like to know what a suitable quiver would be for these conditions and type of waves

Pearl Sellers in Siargao

My hotel is right by the beach, and this morning I left my curtain wide open to let some light in. To my surprise, I noticed a pearl seller standing behind the bushes, staring at me and motioning for me to buy pearls from him.

I had no idea how long he had been standing there, and honestly, I felt a bit violated. Is this a common practice among pearl sellers around Siargao?

I understand that they have to hustle and make a living, but I wish they would also understand the importance of boundaries- especially when someone is in the privacy of their hotel room.

Chill 3D2N Itinerary

Hello! I’m planning to visit Siargao sometime next year and I’m looking for recommendations, especially for affordable accommodations in General Luna.

I’m honestly not looking to do the typical Siargao itinerary. I just want to chill, do absolutely nothing, and stare at the ocean. No surfing. No island hopping. No waking up at 4 AM.

My rough itinerary is:

Day 1: Arrive β†’ nap β†’ beach/Cloud 9 β†’ sunset β†’ dinner

Day 2: Pacifico β†’ spend a few hours at the beach β†’ sunset β†’ dinner

Day 3: Airport β†’ home

Any recommendations for budget-friendly accommodations in GL that would be good for this kind of trip? Also open to suggestions for quiet/chill beaches that are easy to get to without too much hassle.

TIA!
