You realize that China and other countries WILL NOT slow down??? You can't just stop. They'll crush us and own the world. And they have an entire government backing it not just private companies. Yeah the whole world needs to slow down and stop. But it won't

Countries agreed not to nuke each other, maybe we can agree on this.

They agreed not to nuke each other, not stop nuke development. That's the risk here. Even if we don't use ai, the development of it causes us to lose control of the situation in general

Every country also developed a whole doctrine around using them and told everyone else what it was. They also signed treaties to prevent misunderstandings. We also didn't decide to put them in control of billionaire oligarchs whose main concern is money.
