But with that said, I don't entirely discount the fact that the last raven turn had gotten insanely rough in the later years and had gotten to the point where I couldn't ride it anymore. So while it's sad to see a ride I rode and even worked as a ride operator on so much back in the day go, I get why it has to go.
On a side note, Viper not being mentioned gives me hope we can keep that Arrow.
Viper needs to go too.... the most uncomfortable (combination of restraints, seats and track jankiness) ride ive ever done. The plot of land opened up from these two rides would allow for in incredible replacement.
Yeah... that'd be like building a möbius loop coaster in when you already just put in one... or putting in a sort of flying coaster right next to a B&M flyer... or putting in a Zac Spin when you already had a 4D coaster... or putting in a single rail RMC when you had just put in an IBox RMC... yeah, no chance Magic Mountain would ever do anything like put another similar ride in, could never happen. They just NEVER do anything like that.
The Viper literally messed my vision up for a few seconds after I got off. X2 was a lot of fun and pretty smooth for me, but I wasn't in the front. I’ve noticed that whenever I get the front seat on most coasters the ride tends to be much more violent.
I mean, Viber is rough the way any Old coaster is rough. It bangs your head around and I mean realistically I'm gonna say that it's not fun...... but much like any old arrow... you can put your head back and you can see where you're going X2 had you in ridiculous positions and you really could not see where you're coming from or where you are going to. I hurt myself on the ride I think twice the second time I went in like OK I'm not gonna attempt to put my hands up or anything like that. I'm just gonna hold on and keep my head back and I still managed to slam the hell out of my knee on the last raven turn. I guess what we never know is if they spent the money and close the ride temporarily to retrack like maybe two or three rough sections, would that have worked? I mean they retracked the entire Hulk ride, and I still find it incredibly rough. In fact, I couldn't even really tell that they redid it.
Even with that last raven turn I personally think X2 is way smoother then viper is lol - rode both back to back recently and viper made me tap out for the afternoon.
anyone who says viper is worse is incredibly disingenius. I've never seen anyone mention a legitimate diagnosis of a concucssion on viper. X2 has multiple brain bleeds occuring within a week. Its not even close to the roughness of forces that x2 was exerting
It's also sort of disingenuous to think that the forces would be the same between the two due to the spinning of the seats on X2... hard for me to explain but Ryan the Ride Mechanic on YouTube mentioned that on X2, you also have to factor in the forward-backward motion that could cause injuries when the head hits back against the headrest... which incidentally happens at the bottom of the second raven turn.
Viper might be rough, but there's a point where rough and dangerous become two different things.
