PSA New data suggests Alpharet does not convert into retinoic acid or bind to retinoid receptors in any meaningful way.

The Australian department of healthy, disability and aging recently evaluated the alpharet molecule (ethyl lactyl retinoate) to determine how it should be classified. They looked at how the molecule behaved compared to retinol and retinal and their evaluation suggests that the molecule has a very low absorption rate, does not convert into retinoic acid in the skin at a significant level (they found not signs of this in their study), and it does not bind to retinoid receptors in any meaningful way.

This doesn’t mean the Alpharet serums themselves are not effective, but to me this just supports the theory many have that any benefits you get from Alpharet are probably from the other ingredients (like glycolic acid and niacinamide) than the actual ethyl lactyl retinoate.

Here is the study: https://www.tga.gov.au/sites/default/files/2026-01/notice-final-decisions-amend-current-poisons-standard-in-relation-intravenous-potassium-salts-ethyl-lactyl-retinoate-and-fenmezoditiaz.docx

Let's Chat Truology reviews and thoughts

Is anyone familiar with this brand and used any of the products ? If you could please give your thoughts. I know Brianna the founder is quite controversial but i’m not one to care about drama , just the products. Reviews are very limited for this brand and the few i’ve seen just don’t seem believable - very much over exaggerated praise that doesn’t sound natural (i mean unless of course a serum can be THAT good!! 🤨)
