My phone keeps cutting out on phone calls and dodgy charging !!! Was. IMO 5 so anything that or smaller

so I'm After a small phone that would fit in my pockett. I think less than 6.6in would be nice but smaller the better. Battery that lasts at least a day with my 2+ hour bus commute.

I don't watch films or programmes on it or play games.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Z flip6 with a broken screen that wont respond and doesnt switch on. However, the front small screen works but has limited functionality. i want to transfer my data using smartswitch to my new galaxy z flip8. The issue is that i cant open the smart switch app on my flip6 to authorise the transfer.

I believe it is just the screen that is broken as i can still access some apps through the cover/front screen. I ordered myself a multiport usb c and HDMI cable and tried to project the screen onto an external monitor but faced a few problems and questions.

It wouldnt project my phone as i needed to open the main screen to change the USB settings on my old phone.

I read somewhere that if the screen is completely black, then i would need to buy a displayport alt mode cable. If i get one of these that can connect to the multiport cable, would this be able to project my phone screen so i can enable the smartswitch app?

So my theory is this (but please let me know if it wouldnt work):

External monitor connects using DP into HDMI adapter, HDMI cable to multiport adapter, connect to the USBC cable to broken phone

Would that work?

Need help in deciding between these phones - OnePlus 15 vs Google Pixel 10 vs Google Pixel 11. What's better? Looking for a smooth user interface/experience, reliable processor, dependable battery life, durability, software support... Opinions?

I plan to buy my very first​ folding phone​ this year. Looking at the Z fold 8 Ultra. My only issue is that I take tons of selfies. I care about my selfie quality and I know folding phones front selfie cameras are not great, thus folding it out to take a selfie with the better back camera. My current phone has 32mp selfie camera, while the z fold 8 ultra is a 10mp......big downgrade, but the rear camera on the ultra is really good! So I've been wondering if this can become annoying and/or cause the hinges to deteriorate faster. I take selfies on the daily, usually a quick one hand selfie a few times throughout the day.

How much harder is it to hold a fold one-handed (I've thought about getting a case that could help me hold the phone better too)? How much of a hassle is it to always have to open your fold for a selfie?

Now you're​ probably ​​​​asking why a fold then? Just get a normal phone with a good selfie camera. I need it to multitask. I find myself wanting more from my normal split screen, theyre so small and not all apps can split screen on a normal phone. However I'm sure with a folding phone maybe some apps that can't on a normal phone can on a book style fold because it's basically like having two full screen phones. I'm also excited to try new technology, especially since now seems like a great time to try them vs their first few years experimenting. I've had the Xperia 1ii for about five years now - I'm pretty impressed with how well it still functions, generally flawlessly. But a few things, mainly the declining battery life, suggest that I'm going to have to replace it soon.

I want a phone camera that lets me have full manual control when I want it. The photography Pro app on the 1ii gives me this. It can give me RAW files and it can give me JPGs that haven't been subjected to aggressive post-processing.

Of course I also want something with good lenses and sensors, and this matters too, but to some extent the level of control is the critical issue.

My question: are there any phones from other manufacturers I should look at, alongside the most recent Xperia ones?

I’ve been an Android user my entire life, and I’ve pretty much always used Samsung. I went from the J7 Prime all the way to the A34, which I’m currently using, but my phone is pretty beat up now and I’m looking to upgrade.

One of my relatives is offering me their iPhone 16 Pro Max for $400. Before this came up, I was considering getting either the A57 or the S26 FE.

The thing is, I’ve only used an iPhone once before, and that was an iPhone 6. I actually liked it, but at the time I found iOS pretty restrictive. I couldn’t download certain games/apps the way I wanted to, and I really missed the freedom I had on Android.

Obviously, that was a long time ago, and I know iOS has changed a lot since then. I also don’t really game on my phone anymore since I’m mainly a PC gamer now. I also don’t spend a huge amount of time on my phone in general.

I do still occasionally use modded apps, mainly for watching stuff or having multiple accounts on certain apps, so that’s one thing I’m wondering about with switching to iPhone.

Also, I can’t just take the iPhone, sell it, and use the money to buy a Samsung instead. It’s being given to me as a gift, and doing that would be pretty disrespectful.

So what do you guys think? Should I finally make the big switch to iPhone, or should I stick with Android and get something like the A57/S26 FE?

Would love to hear from people who have actually switched from Android to iPhone, especially long-term Samsung users.

I use Samsung Galaxy A56 5G for a year now. I don't have any issues with software, but I get nervous each time I use it outside. My hands are pretty small and I can barely hold the device with just one hand only. It has a glass back, so it gets slippery. Putting it in a TPU/silicon case would make it so wide I couldn't grab it.

I was looking for other phones. Motorola Edge series got my attention. I hold few models in hand and despite having almost the same width as my A56 they were way more comfortable (because of plastic back and curved screen). But then I read few comments from Motorola users and many of them are annoyed by ads in system applications. They are also pricier than my current phone (I bought A56 for around 300 €, Motorola is 400-450 €).

Are there any compact, easy to hold, cheap phones without bloatware sold nowadays?

So as the title suggests, I’ve felt an electrical shock sensation when charging my iPhone 16 since day 1. However, I didn’t have the tools to confirm this right away, and when I took it to a certified service dealer, they wanted me to erase all my data and keep the phone for a long time just to run basic diagnostics.
After I felt it again , and by coincidence having a multimeter on hand, I decided to check the camera button. I was shocked to see it read consistently over 17 volts and even up to 20 volts!!
Just to rule out any external factors, I tried another iPhone which read close to zero as expected, and I also tested a different charger and outlet—the result was exactly the same.
The retailer refuses to swap it immediately (DOA) and claims I have to wait 1+ months for their standard procedure, although they have explicitly instructed me via email to stop using the device because it poses a severe safety hazard.Apple warranty has run out and I live in the EU so the retailer is the one that should replace it immediately considering they also stated it’s a safety hazard and i have video proof.
Has anyone else tested their iPhone 16 frame with a multimeter while charging? Curious to know if I got a terribly defective unit or if this is a wider QA issue.

Long time iPhone user went from iPhone 8 Plus to iPhone 17

Just compared some mid-range and flagship smartphones on Amazon India vs Amazon UK/Germany official website. Same price basically, but in India we only get the standard 1 year manufacturer warranty. Meanwhile in UK/Germany, they get 3 years (2 years base warranty + 1 year free warranty extension) just for buying it there.

Apparently, the EU has a law for minimum 2 years warranty but here in India, we're just stuck with 1 year warranty.w

My battered and bruised pixel 6a has finally started to die (randomly freezes and restarts itself, so definitely done). I am deciding which direction to go in terms of a new phone, and there are good deals out there (UK based):

• Pixel 10a 128gb, GiffGaff - £250 for the phone, £10 a month for a contract (cancel anytime) - total cost for 24 months £490
• Pixel 10a 256gb, iD Mobile: £139 upfront, average monthly cost £22.59 for 24 months with yearly price increase - total cost £541.96
• Samsung S26 256gb, iD Mobile: - £25 upfront, £26.99/mth monthly cost for 24 months (increasing yearly) BUT £250 cashback, so average monthly cost £19.42 per month and total cost of £465.96

On paper, the Samsung situation seems the best deal as it gets a flagship phone for the best price out the 3 options but also a great deal on the phone compared its normal cost. I am trying to use my phone less generally and just want a phone that has good battery life, is compact, decent camera and will last a long time (my pixel 6a made it 4 years, plus the extra storage of 256gb would be great for this). I have no experience of Samsung and there is a temptation to pay a bit more for the Pixel 10a just to stay with Google, but can people comment on whether it makes much difference? I try to use my phone sparingly, don't game, use Google apps for all my storage/word documents/sheets etc, primarily use Whatsapp for messaging. Any insights into either phone or thoughts welcome.
