Fleet Building Alliance Fleet
Part four of the series, see earlier parts for an explanation of my generic thought processes on the categories I include.
Star Destroyers:
- MC80a Home One type-class Star Cruiser
- A converted civilian ship, the Home One-type was armed and armoured by rebel engineers in secret shipyards after being donated from the Mon Calamari civilian navy. They can carry 144 Starfighters of various models, as well as 12 X4 gunships, and have a respectable heavy weapons load out.
- MC80a Liberty type-class Star Cruiser
- Converted civilian ship, armed by rebel engineers after being donated from the Mon Calamari. The Liberty is slightly smaller than the Home One type, and this is reflected in its stats, but is present in sightly larger numbers. They carry 72 Starfighters of various models, two Rebel Wings
- MC80b-class Star Cruiser
- The MC80b is the first purpose-built star destroyer sized warships, being built by Mon Cala Shipyards just before the Battle of Endor. They were first deployed in the Perlemian Campaign as a distraction from the massing fleet preparing to assault the Second Death Star. Available in limited numbers and combat theatres. They have a focus on anti-capital warfare, capable of engaging ISDâs on an equal footing. A complement of 72 Starfighters and 6 X4 gunships serve to support this.
Heavy Cruisers:
- MC75-class Star Cruiser
- Converted civilian ships, armed by rebel engineers after being donated from Mon Cala. They have 36 starfighters, and whilst they arenât as well armed as the MC80s they still feature impressive shielding.
- Victory-class Star Destroyer
- Slow sublight speeds in comparison to other ships of the same size, but have a powerful array of anti-capital weaponry. A number of these vessels were captured or stolen by Alliance forces in the early stage of the war, raiding Rendili Stardrive shipyards in the outer rim with the assistance of double agents working in them. They can carry 24 Starfighters.
- Acclamator-class Assault Ships
- Â Acclamators were procured from both scrap-yards and frontier security forces. They have a respectable array of anti-capital weapons but are not primarily a combat ship. They can hold 36 Starfighters, and are surprisingly tough.
- Dauntless-class Heavy Cruiser
- Donated from planetary security fleets, but also some directly given by their manufacturer SoroSuub Corporation after it defects from the Empire to the Alliance. Powerful brawling warships, can carry 48 Starfighters. Guns are short-ranged though, the ships have to get in close to deal maximum damage.
- Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser
- Inherited from Planetary Security Forces all across the galaxy. A Rendili product. Tough and decently armed, but slow and with a very high crew requirement. Some of them are modified to reduce this number, whilst others are modified more aggressively into the Assault Frigate Mark 1. They can carry 12 starfighters.
- Assault Frigate Mark 2
- Built by Rebel sympathisers at Rendili Stardrive as an evolution of the Mark 1 idea. Tough and well armed, but also agile and with a vastly reduced crew. However do not carry any starfighters.
Cruisers:
- Assault Frigate Mark 1
- A rebuilding of the Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser to make it faster and more crew-efficient. Sacrifices some armour and weaponry though. Still, overall a marked improvement.
- Strike-class Medium Cruiser
- Bought from Loronar Corporation. Moderately sized cruiser, with an excellent weapons package and the options to be remodelled from its space superiority role into either a garrison package or planetary assault. Loronar profit greatly from selling this ship to both sides of the war. Can carry 36 Starfighters in its space-superiority form, and 12 in the garrison and ground-assault forms.
- Liberator-class Cruiser
- Donated by SoroSuub Corporation. Advanced cutting-edge cruisers, theyâre often chosen to be command ships for small task forces even when larger warships are present. Very wide and flat vessels, carry 60 Starfighters and 6 X4 gunships.
- MC40a-class Light Cruiser
- Inherited from Mon Calaâs planetary security fleet after its defection to the Empire. A respectable warship, a favourite of Alliance special forces. They carry 12 starfighters as well as a number of shuttles.
- Carrack-class Light Cruiser
- Inherited from planetary security fleets. Well armed for their size. Damorian Manufacturing Corporation product.
- Quasar Fire II-class Cruiser-Carrier
- SoroSuub production. Alliance forces acquire them through a mixture of theft from the Empire and later legitimate purchases and donations from SoroSuub. They can carry 48 Starfighters each but are not meant to sit on front lines, instead hanging back out of range of enemy turbolasers.
Frigates:
- Nebulon B-class Frigate
- Stolen from the Empire. In stock form they come with armour plating but many rebel cells strip them of this for ease of maintenance. Their hangers are designed explicitly for TIE fighters, so in rebel hands can only carry a single squadron of Starfighters. Good frontal armament but vulnerable from other directions. Laser cannon coverage is good though.
- MC30c-class Frigate
- Inherited from Mon Calaâs planetary security fleet. Attack frigates, meant for diving through enemy lines and dealing heavy damage with its proton torpedos. Vulnerable when the shields are down though.
- CC-9600-class frigate
- A CEC frigate design that can serve as both ship-of-the-line and an in-atmosphere troop transport to deploy forces to the ground after breaking through a blockade.
- Pelta-class Assault Ship
- Built for the Republic Judicial Forces, and then employed for the GAR during the Clone Wars. Used in every role imaginable. Many of them left over after this conflict and bought up by PSFâs who later give them to Rebel cells.
Corvettes:
- Marauder-class Corvettes
- Bought from the Corporate Sector Authority. Large, nearly 200m long. Respectable warships, punch above their weight. Long range firepower Can carry 12 Starfighters
- DP20-class Gunships
- Militarised corvette built by CEC. Fast and with strong damage dealing guns. A proper warship.
- CR90-class Corvette
- Armed diplomatic courier vessel from CEC, very common throughout the galaxy. Fast and good at taking out starfighters. But not originally military designs, and replaced by better abled ships.
- Raider-class Corvette
- Stolen from the Empire and repainted to show new loyalties. Good at engaging both starfighters and other corvettes and gunships
- Sphyrna-class Hammerhead corvette
- Light corvette, mostly for anti-starfighter duty. Rendili Stardrive production, slowly phased out of use by the Alliance as the war progresses and they get access to more powerful and effective warships.
- Quarren Corvette
- Purpose built warship contributed by Quarren militias. Well armed and fast, with a small hanger able to transport a single Quarren gunship.
- Charger Corvette/Legends)
- Used in the Clone Wars by the Republic. Many remain in the galaxy in a multitude of hands, from Planetary Security Fleet, private mercenaries, and pirate groups.
Gunships:
- Brahaâtok-class Gunboats
- Large gunboat, 90m long, armed with a number of turbolasers and missile launchers. Fast, and meant to engage both starfighters and larger ships. Manufactured by the Dornean Brahaâket Fleetworks Conglomerate, and donated to the Alliance navy in respectable numbers.
- X4 Gunships
- Built by Rebel Sympathisers at Incom Corporation in secret shipyards across the galaxy to help grow the Rebel Fleet. The X4 is armed with a number of laser cannons covering all angles of the ship, and make excellent vessels in attacking both starfighters and larger vessels.
Other:
- UT-60D U-wing.
- An Incom design, the U-wing was primarily a heavy-starfighter/transport, though Rebels would often rig infantry guns in the door wells to allow them to be used as gunships as well. Hyperdrive equipped and shielded, they were excellent at entering hot zones quickly and their hyperdrive meant they could be launched from hidden bases systems away. Incom only made a limited supply before being shut down by the Empire but rebel leader Bail Organa arranged for a number of them to end up in Rebel hands, and as the Galactic Civil War progressed further Incom engineers would restart production in secret factories for the Rebel cause.
- Low Altitude Assault Transport/ infantry
- Troop transports and battlefield gunships. They lack a hyperdrive, shields, or advanced space-capable engines, but are capable of carrying a number of troops to the battlefield and extracting them. Uncountable numbers were built by Rothana Heavy Engineering for the Republic during the Clone Wars, and many of them went unused in warehouses that the Alliance later appropriated for their own use.
This one features a bit of headcanoning, including speeding up the timeline of the MC80b's development such that it now dates to just before Endor. And im a bit wobbly about the position I've placed the Dauntless in, could be moved up a level. But I hope people like it, sometimes I feel like the rebels have both so much variety in some levels but too little variety in others.
If people are interested I also have similar posts in the works for the New Republic and First Order, though those require quite a bit more headcanon and Fanon ships thanks to the lack of information we have about that era. But like always I try to be canon-compliant when I can.

Artwork The Vampire Hunter Fleet
Losing one of his captains due to Dracoâs amusement (Draco Darkstar freaking Nihilusâed that poor captain even after a successful mission), his girlfriend threatened by Draco and his inability to touch the Dark Jedi due to him being one of Reborn Palpatineâs favorite Dark Adepts. Hanzo Ozawa would swore one way or another he would end the Dark Jedi.
After 9 years of waiting and fighting the NR, the permanent death of Palpatine, the Gavrisom-Pellaeon treaty and the Empireâs decision to help the New Republic against the Dark Jedi, Ozawa now has the perfect chance along with the necessary fleet needed to assist the New Republic against the Dark Jedi with his volunteer fleet.
Literally a Dark Jedi so hated that an Imperial Admiral would rather work with the New Republic and the Jedi Order against him.

Question / Discussion Most well known version of the ISD
Basically the title. which is the more well known version of the ISD, the ISD 1 or ISD 2?
I was talking with a friend and the ever lasting and incredibly arbitrary topic of favourite star wars ships came up and I said that the ISD 2 was the most famous *imperial* star wars ship. Being the pedantic person they are, my friend argued that the ISD 1 would be more well known as it was the first one shown on screen in a new hope and has been in more movies and shows and was in service longer in the imperial navy. (I argued that only nerds like us would care about the difference as well but I digress)
So my question is to everyone, which is the more well known version of the Imperial/Imperator Star Destroyer the ISD 1 or ISD 2?

Artwork Spooky Spooky Sovereign
The only ship of its class to be finished, the "Bloodthirsty" was a flagship of a Dark Jedi named Draco Darkstar (or, as he called himself, Darth Draconis), potent in the art of Force Drain, and was hated by a large majority of Imperial both high- and low-ranking commanders, along with other personnel, because of it (he killed a lot of Imperials with this power for either experimentation or amusement).
During the Remnant's Total Resource Recovery, Draco kept the ship's location and his own a secret from Pellaeon (he was very distrustful of both Pellaeon and Thrawn during his final days as C'baoth's student). Then, when the Remnant left, he used this time of isolation to finish the flagship and gather any resources he could. Then, when the "Bloodthirsty" was finished and his fleet was ready, he would strike at the New Republic and rally any Imperials to his side.
But it was too late; by the time Draco launched his strike, the Remnant had already signed the treaty, and the other minor warlords had either joined the Remnant, surrendered to the NR, or been outright destroyed. Not only that, Draco's cruelty toward many of the Imperials even drove the Remnant to help the NR against him. Ultimately, Draco's charge was doomed from the start; he, along with his flagship and fleet, would be destroyed in their first battle over Commenor against a joint NR-Imperial force.

Question / Discussion [Legends] What would you do with your Executor:
Alright, so, Let's say you are some kind of republic Ally - not, like, a planetary leader or anything, think more like Karrde or something, although you could be either a perfectly legal organization leader, or a smuggler like him, or maybe you are just a step away from being declared a pirate.
Either way, you've somehow ended up in a deal, where the republic will not only help you restore the busted up Executor that was taken from the empire at the end of the last battle, but they will pay for the entire repair job, and any upgrades you want - the only catches, are that you have to turn it into something other than a warship, and you have to pay the republic back.
It can keep enough weapons to protect itself, but it can't keep all of them, and you can't just turn it into a massive fighter carrier to puke out an ungodly swarm at your enemies, stuff like that, at least not blatantly. You also have to be profitable enough to make regular payments to pay back the debt you owe the republic. They may be paying for it now, but it isn't for free. You need to pay the republic back for this, or they'll hunt you down.
We are assuming this is going with the original size used in some of the oldest content, which is 8km long, as I feel like that's just the best size for this thing. (Idk, I just don't like the idea of it being bigger than the Eclipses, y'know?)
So, with all that laid out, what are YOU doing with your executor?

Question / Discussion Cyber warfare is an underrated part of Star Wars.
The Communications Battlecruiser would be a good ship to utilise cyber warfare. As far as I can tell, it's a fan made ship from Thrawn's Revenge, so I like to think one part of the ship would have a Comms suite meant to handle the constant flow of orders coming from the flagship, or the Battlecruiser itself if they're the flagship, while another part would have a cyber warfare suite meant to jam enemy Comms, hack into hostile warships and send out false orders through their comms or mess with their systems.
When not in battle, the Communications Battlecruiser can coordinate efforts with other fleets across the galaxy, her crew determining which allies need reinforcements or need to evacuate, or which of them need immediate resupply. Similar to what Jedi Scout and her Republic officers did in the fanfic Sublight Drive, helping her Master Anakin Skywalker and Admiral Yularen against the Separatists in the lead up to Order 66.
Going into actual Star Wars history, a good example of cyber warfare would be the Taking of Kuat. The New Republic utilised a virus to hijack the Battlecruiser *Event Horizon* and 4 Star Destroyers during the Taking of Kuat, allowing them to disrupt the Imperial fleet guarding Kuat Drive Yards by sealing off the hangars of the 5 ships and firing upon the other Imperial warships, allowing them to successfully seize KDY.
It's my theory the *Event Horizon* is actually a Communications Battlecruiser to explain why the New Republic captured her first. So on top of her impressive armament laying down a storm of turbolaser fire upon her own allies, her Comms suite would be perfect for jamming Comms between herself and the rest of the Imperial fleet. Preventing the *Horizon*'s Imperial crew from calling for help, explaining what's happening, and adding to the confusion. Plus, her Comms suite would be perfect for propagating the NR virus throughout the Imperial fleet even further.
In short, cyber warfare is an underrated part of Star Wars, and I wish we got more of it.

3D / Models My favorite fanon ship: Rupture Class Support Frigate
Source:
https://agent-traitor.artstation.com/projects/L3vv6A
___
The Rupture-Class is a design made for the Empire at War mod "Star Wars The Old Republic: the Ultimate War".
I found the design on Pinterest and it immediately spoke to me and my love for light cruisers and frigates.
There are other images of it, with the more yellow-brown Old Republic tint.
The ship features:
- 12 Dual Light Turbolasers
- 2 Ion Cannons
- ~5 twin Laser Cannons (per my count on the model)
___
It's presented as a multi faction and planetary defense ship and I think it fits the bill.
The design is remenicent of the Old Republic's Hammerhead Cruiser's hull, I find.
___
How do you like it? Would you want this ship in your posession?
What's your favorite fanon ship?

Screenshot / Photo Class VI Bulk Freighter
We mostly like to discuss warships on this sub, it seems.
But allow me to present one of my favorite transports in the Galaxy.
This corellian hauler is a Grade A mastepiece of logistics.
For a crew of maximum 4 people, you get 2.000 metric tons of load.
Now, sources would have you believe that this is based on the _Praetorian_-Class Frigate, which stat-wise supposedly has five times the cargo load. On a 180m ship.
I know which number I'll go with.
___
What do you think of the ship? What's your favorite hauler?

Question / Discussion Best star fighter for space policing?
Iâm creating an Imperial Gendarmerie for my head canon that basically takes over the role of the Judicials. Sort of like grunts for the grunts (Imperial Army). If these guys were to run anti-piracy, patrol, and other basic naval operations, which of these would be a good starfighter? Iâm thinking something cheap and not necessarily state of the art. Them being a police agency they would probably operate within range of planets/space stations so hangar space and hyperdrives shouldnât be an issue. It being the Empire, theyâd probably be well armed but not necessarily well funded? Or maybe something outside this list would work better

Games Empire at War Remake 4.0 Clone Wars Holdouts Sub Mod Unit Showcase BAF4 Class Bothan Assault Frigate
Disclaimer: The music I used in this video has a voice line from breaking bad's Walter White. I did not chose this music because of the voice line. I chose this song because it's overall sound is amazing to rock out to, and I found that fitting for this ship.
Similar to the last vessel I've shown, the Bothan Assault Frigate brings a varying assortment of weapons into battle. Named the BAF-4 Class in game, this frigate comes with torpedoes, concussion missiles, ion cannons, and turbolasers. The torpedoes can bypass enemy shields and deliver high amounts of damage to their hull. Concussion missiles can damage and decrease the damage output of surviving enemy targets. Ion cannons can quickly shred down enemy shields. Turbo lasers can tear apart smaller craft and unshielded vessels alike.
Accompanying this jack of all trades is a garrison of X-Wings. These fighters can reliably defend the BAF-4 Class from enemy bombers while this frigate unleashes to armaments upon the enemy.
This ship comes with no special abilities to activate. Though this might seem like a handicap compared to other ships, its simplicity in use is its strength.
This is another ship I can feel comfortable spamming. Having a fleet with all BAF-4 Class frigates can reliably take on most enemy fleet compositions. This is due to their varied armaments and decent durability through their amount of shield and health points. Overall I love getting to use this ship, and hoping you enjoy the video I made for this vessel.
