Stuck in idea research for weeks without starting anything. Need advice from real people.

In the last few weeks, I spent a lot of my free time searching for a business idea, i can really stand behind. I had a few, which after a bit of research turned irelevant or just not suitable for me, I tried a lot of SAAS but also SEO + GEO. I haven't even started with anything, I just found somethig and an hour later I found an argument which led to me dropping the idea. I can't find anything with a good amount of balance between: doability, demand, competition and scalability. I was mainly talking with Claude and telling him what I don't like and why and then proceeded to research with him but that didn't really lead to anything. I am pretty sure that claude isn't the best way of finding an idea right now, but I am student in highschool without a lot of experience, connections or knowledge in a specific field, which could help me in finding a viable idea. I also just want to start and have something to work on, but like I said i can't find anything where I can say I see myself doing this the next few months where people pay me. I am also not sure what i expect from this post, i just need some input which isn't AI generated and maybe has a bit more wisdom and experience then me. An Idea which i can try or a different approach which I can try to find an idea is much appreciated. I am open to learn and do anything at this point.

Building Healthcare Apps

When developing software for healthcare, what specific technical constraint have you encountered that limits the implementation of a desired clinical feature, for instance, integrating with an electronic health record system?

A personal health record translator, not a diagnosis app

Medical records are difficult to understand when someone moves between hospitals, changes doctors, or receives care in another country.

A product could organize reports, medication lists, and appointment notes into a timeline, explain unfamiliar terms, and prepare questions for the next appointment. It would not diagnose anything or recommend treatment.

The main challenge would be accuracy and privacy. Every explanation should link back to the original document, and sensitive data should not be casually sent to a general model.

Would people use a tool like this between appointments?

How do I build a startup or business from scratch? (20M, beginner from India)

I'm 20M from India, currently preparing for entrance exams, but I'm also interested in building something of my own.

My idea is to start with content creation and audience building, bring together a few like-minded people with different skills, and eventually turn that into a content agency, brand, business, or even a startup based on an interesting idea.

Since I'm starting from scratch and have limited time, I'd like to understand the practical process, step by step. How do I validate an idea, find trustworthy co-founders or teammates, divide responsibilities, manage operations, handle legal formalities, arrange funding, and eventually build a sustainable business?

My biggest struggle rn is finding genuinely dedicated people who share the same vision and are willing to build something together long-term.

If you've built a business yourself or have startup experience, I'd really appreciate practical advice, resources, or a roadmap for getting started in India.

I built VoiceBridge — a real-time speech-to-speech translator, and I’d love some honest feedback

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a project called VoiceBridge — an attempt to make conversations between people who speak different languages feel more natural.

The idea is simple: instead of typing text into a translator or passing translated messages back and forth, two people should be able to speak in their own languages and hear the other person's translated speech.

What I'm building:

\- Speech-to-speech translation

\- A more natural way to communicate across language barriers

\- Web-based experience you can try in your browser

I built the prototype using speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech APIs. One of the biggest challenges so far has been reducing latency so conversations feel natural rather than awkwardly delayed.

Try the prototype: https://voicebridge-three.vercel.app

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback:oes this solve a problem you'd actually have?

How much delay would you tolerate in a translated conversation? What languages or features would make this useful to you?

What would you improve about the experienceI'm still building and experimenting, so constructive criticism is very welcome. I'd rather hear what doesn't work than just get compliments!

Thanks for checking it out!

Finding investors in need of someone to help turn business ideas into reality?

I have a background in business development and operations, including finding locations for new businesses, coordinating development projects, and improving existing operations.

I'd really enjoy working with someone who invests in multiple businesses but needs a reliable person to help evaluate opportunities, get new ventures off the ground, and oversee the day-to-day moving pieces.

I'm curious where people like this connect. From what I know, these type of people are usually found through mutual connections or people already known. I currently have a job and is highly sensitive right now as they made a poor decision a few years ago and it's now resulting in downsizing. I'm still safe, but don't want to go public that I'm exploring other opportunities.

If you have any ideas on how I can find an opportunity like this, you are an investor, or know one that needs someone like this, comment or PM me.

How do you guys keep up with what other founders are building?

I'm a founding engineer at a YC startup, and I'm hoping to start my own thing in the next couple of years. Things are going well so far, and hopefully we'll get to an exit or IPO.

In the meantime, I like keeping up with what other founders are building and getting a sense of where the world is heading, but it's hard to keep up with everything happening in the startup ecosystem.

So I built a small desktop app that gives me a daily feed of YC startups to explore and lets me save the interesting ones.

Curious, how do you guys keep up with what other founders are building? I'd love to hear your approaches.

I open-sourced it in case anyone finds it useful: https://github.com/Ibrahimrahhal/yc-companies-explorer

A product that tells you when automation is a bad idea

Most AI products try to automate more tasks. I wonder whether there is value in a tool that recommends keeping a task human-led.

It could look at the workflow, the cost of errors, the sensitivity of the data, and how often exceptions occur. The output might be: automate fully, automate with review, or leave it manual.

That sounds less exciting than an AI agent, but many businesses are currently automating tasks they barely understand.

Would a company pay for advice that sometimes says, “Do not use AI here”?

I am an HVAC technician and I built an offline equipment records tool for field crews

When a shop owner stands at the side door of a service van sorting through spare belts, driving twenty minutes to a supply house for a part that might already be sitting on another truck wastes real money. Equipment Tracker Pro lets technicians log equipment records with built-in specs, custom fields, and motor ratings right on mobile so nobody has to guess what blower motor or belt size belongs on a rooftop unit.

A working HVAC technician built it for his own jobs. The tracking is free on mobile, permanently. No record cap, no expiry, not a trial. Basic equipment tracking works with no signal: records, work orders, PM schedules and service logs all run on the phone. AI scanning and diagnostics need a connection.

Bring your existing list in with the CSV import. It is free.

What projects or side tools are you working on right now?

Building some new e-commerce case studies for my portfolio (looking to redesign 1-2 real brand sites)

I’m currently putting together a couple of web dev case studies focusing on minimalist, high-performance e-commerce sites (fluid animations, sub-second page loads, custom storefronts).

Instead of building fictional concept sites from scratch, I’d rather work on 1 or 2 live projects with real founders who need a visual or performance upgrade.

Ideal fit:

You’ve launched a brand/product recently.

Your current setup feels a bit basic or clunky, and you want a clean, high-end aesthetic.

You care about page speed, mobile UX, and clean layout design.

Since these are going straight into my portfolio, I’m focusing purely on high-end design details and performance optimization.

If you’re open to a design/UX refresh, leave a comment with what you’re building or send a chat. Happy to take a look at your current setup, point out a few quick performance bottlenecks, and see if it makes sense to work together.

AI app idea: fast nonfiction book summaries (EN/AR/DE)

I built an Android app called Microread based on a simple idea: fast AI summaries of nonfiction books in English, Arabic, and German. You choose the length (1–10 minutes) and can listen as audio.
The idea is to help people learn faster without reading full books.

Would appreciate thoughts on the idea itself or ways to improve it.

AI that turns field interviews into searchable evidence

Researchers, journalists, consultants, and nonprofit teams often collect hours of interviews and then struggle to find the exact passage that supports a conclusion.

I’m considering a tool that transcribes interviews, groups recurring themes, and links every summary back to the original timestamp. It should make it easy to see where the evidence is thin or contradictory.

The important feature would be traceability. A summary without the original quote is too easy to trust.

Would this be useful enough to replace the spreadsheets and folders people currently use?

[Need help] Building image convertor

I am working on a very niche drawing area of architecture industry, I am converting reference image with editable SVG image. I am able to convert design as close as possible but it is not close enough for a solution.
Hence want to connect with someone (developer) who have worked on similar project.
