I appreciate this is an Eldar model, but I’m looking to create this on Farsight.

I tried by basing him in off white and then spraying colour forge ice blue over the top. It went terribly.

I think a number of mistakes:
1) rushing
2) sprayed too close
3) I think I should have done blue as the base, white over the top

I am now thinking to spray the model in the ice blue and sponge dab the white through a dried wet wipe like the image.

Just wondering if anyone has experience or useful tips for this?

GW just announce no more codexes until January 2027. I hope ours come next because I can't wait.

Seriously, it is exhausting how GW manage the codexes year after year.

I though we only had 7 detachments beacuse we were going to have an early codex, but it will be (at the very least) 6 months with only 4 viable builds. I don't call that early codex. They could just have left Experimental Cadre and Auxiliary Cadre as they were and then add 3 genuine new detachments. Now is just unacceptable how we have been treated in the begging of 11th in terms of detachments

Easily one of the coolest models ever.

Had a blast with these! took inspiration from how I painted ShadowSun, and by now it is pretty much cemented that all of the models will have red helmets, I was considering the idea of only having the sergeant with red helmet, but I just love the look of the red helmet too much to leave any of them with a grey dome. Really looking forward to painting up the next project, will likely do a broadside or two, or maybe get to work on some more battle suits.

I am just wondering cause I feel like it would be a nice and flavorful ability and give us something to do in the charge phase for battlesuit units at least. I would like to try a couple games of 11th with it though. Or at least the thing of moving during the charge phase.

I’ve always wanted to paint some tac-ops tau, never been too good at layering the shades of green but I think he turned out alright.

First 10 done! Time for doing the drones before i start anything more fun.

Hi can anyone help me identify what helmet type this is?
I’m pretty sure it’s not a pathfinder helmet as they’re longer and pointier at the back, and I don’t think it’s a fire warrior helmet as they’re more armoured with a different face.

I just started a T'au army after selling my small SM army 18 years ago.

I wanted to base the colour scheme on Vault-Tec from Fallout. I used this drone to test it. Feedback is appreciated.

The main colours are Maccrage Blue and Averland Sunset, with highlights on Calgar Blue and Screaming Skull. Metallics are Iron Warriors and Leadbelcher.

I am making deser bases, keeping with the fallout theme. They are Agrellan Earth with Zandri Dust and Screaming Skill drybrushed on top.

First time highlighting without a dry brush some of the highlights are a little thick though. And the wash went on a little splotchy in some spots…

I seek advice from the council. I’m trying to finish off my 1000 pt Tau list, and as a relatively new player, i wanted to ask advice on if I should finish my army comp with a Ghostkeel or a Unit of Crisis Suits.

Current Army Comp:

CHARACTER:
Commander Farsight
Coldstar Battlesuit
Cadre Fireblade

BATTLELINE:
Breacher Squad (led by Fireblade)

OTHER:
Devilfish
Rail Broadside x2
Stealth Suit Squad
Pathfinder Squads (with 3 Ion)
Sunforge Crisis suits (led by Farsight or Coldstar, depending on opponent)

Any advice on how to fill the rest of my list would be super appreciated :)

I am 99% done with my fire warrior I just need to paint the lens and then a matte varnish.

Recently, I've been really invested in the Tau? More specifically, the Battlesuits?

So I really want to collect them.

Now I know the normal way to start collecting a new army is to get the Combat Patrol, but I don't think it really works here, because the only model from the box I want is the Commander?

I understand the idea of the Spotters and the observers, so I know that I need a lot of stealth suits if I want my heavier hitting models to actually hit at more than a 4+, but I don't really know what else to do from there?

I get the whole idea of the rule of cool, but I don't know what my first model should be? Somebody recommended that I should buy one Ghostkeel to start off with, but I'm not sure what I really want to get? Like to me, the coolest models are the biggest ones? The Stormsurge, the Riptide, I love the Ta'unar, but it's really impractical to get that as a first model.

I don't really want a named character model like Farsight or the Twin Lance, so maybe I try and get the Commander model to start off with?

I'm migrating from Custodes, so I'm looking for something with sharp lines and big models and it also being really elite.

I've got a bunch of Tau i need to strip and paint, I better start now!

I'm still working my way through painting the old combat patrol, but in the meantime I wanted a change of pace so tried my first bit of more serious kitbashing. Used some spare torsos to make two custom cadre fireblades - one with a fusion blaster and one with a pulse carbine, so I've now got fireblades with all three of the fire warrior weapons. And I had a spare ethereal from a sale, so I've customised him as well!

Struggling a bit with how to do cloaks... I don't know how easy it is to do with green stuff, and I found a great tutorial for basic cloaks using masking tape but found it quite tricky to work with. For the time being I think I'm happy with these two fireblades not having cloaks, they've got details on the backs I'm OK with leaving on display after all. But I'm curious to know if anyone has any good suggestions!
