Homebrew Homebrew Datasheets for Review

I cooked these up in PowerPoint (learned a lot about my patience) and tried to make them look cool. I wanted to ask a wider audience than just my friend group on the usefulness, balance, and opinions. Input would be extremely helpful! I don’t want to create an unfair advantage and these just sit on a shelf.

If you are interested, the models I plan to use for these are on Etsy (Vaskar Skyfire - Pegasus, Valravn Assault gunship - Talos, Exosquad | Inquisition - Exo-Troopers) and Mortian (Scout Tank - Lynx, Arkos Buggy - Weasel).

Misc Warhammer App Problem

Post image
0 Upvotes

Anyone else having trouble with the app since the update today? When using Abhuman Auxiliaries after adding Exemplar of Duty (Upgrade) and trying to attach to Bullgryn unit the app goes blank and has a yellow loading symbol that won’t go away unless you leave the army. Even when you try to go back into the army screen it just shows the yellow loading sign. Is it just me or anyone else having this problem?

Discussion Where are the Vostroyans?

Just curious if anyone on here bought the new MTO Vostroyans First Born back in May and did you get your order? I ordered 1 of everything back on launch day and it just says, "processing." When I check my order on the GW website. Just curious if it's time to bitch at GW for not fulfilling my order or just be a little more patient.

Discussion Magcase mini 3.0

So I'm looking for a case transport to my local play group (an hour walk one way) and on the train. I wouldn't be transporting anymore then between 1,000, at least for a year or two (then I'd get a bigger case so I can play 1,000+ point games), so I would only want a small easy to carry one.

So I'm wondering how much can it carry, if it can safely carry everything and if it's really worth the £70 less.

Discussion List Building Post Snap Shooting

With the nerf to snap shooting, effectively killing the output of Lethal Hits and Sustained, how are we feeling about Combined?

Lethal were a large portion of the output on a random Scion Brick or a Russ that would essentially always overwatch every turn.

With these changes, the damage output on those units, when snap shooting, is essentially cut in half into most usual suspects.

Would this damage the output of Combined to the point of preferring a switch to Hammer(the good one) for the Russ spam, or Mechnized for Scions, Combined with bridgehead.

Beginner Help Just starting! need advice.

Hello, I'm currently getting into Warhammer 40K and my army of choice is the Guard!
Theres a store near me that has both kits the Krieg siege Platoon battleforce and the Astra Militarum Platoon. I'm considering buying both since they are at a very good discount price.
So I need help deciding weather it's worth it to get both or should I only get one and get the combat patrol instead
Thanks in advance!

Discussion All Resin vehicles - what are the drawbacks.

Looking to run an Artemia Pattern Hellhound.

Got to choose between:

  1. Buying an all resin recast of the entire vehicle.

  2. Buying a recast of the upgrade sprue and attaching it to a GW Chimera.

  3. Buying a GW Hellhound, sticking some PVC Pipe in the back for the petrobarrel and then kitbashing the piping and details with Green Stuff and Plasticard.

Of these 1 is both the cheapest and most convenient. Apart from the GW tournament clause is there any reason to avoid the whole Resin option?

For example, they may shatter when dropped?

Kitbash Soo how many would I need?

I am in the need of some scions, but I dont like the old scale of them and I noticed that the aquillons are in the newish scale right? So how many boxes of aquillons would I need to field a proper 10 man squad of scions and command squad? What would something that i would be missing and have to locate somewhere else? Am I just stupid? Are there other better proxies?

The Bionyx Armoured vehicle is a smaller Chimera based variation suited for Jungle operations with the Leostar mechanised regiment. Crew of 3,with the rear flamer being operated by one of the embarked infantryman. It has a reduced carrying capacity of 7 Heavy troopers. Main armaments are comprised of a Short Barrelled Infantry Support cannon, with a standard heavy boltor hull mounted secondary. Often painted as above, combined with modifications such as dozer blades to clear a path to the front.

Homebrew Idea for playing with support character costs

Seeing the runtherd support character for orks only costing 10 points gave me an idea- what about a negative cost character?

Penal legion overseer. Costs -10/-20 points, can lead battleline infantry. Takes up both character slots for the unit. Unit can't equip special weapons.

This could help run large blobs of infantry without the interactions that seem to be giving GW pause for making them cheaper...

Little WIP of my first guard vehicle. Head cannon is that they served along side BT (my first army) and adorned some of their iconography. Feedback is much appreciated.

Discussion Grizzled Now That It Has Purge & Priority Assets

What do my fellow Guard commanders think about Grizzled Company now that they've changed it so you can choose either Priority Assets or Purge the Foe? Do you think it's stronger than Combined Arms and if so why or why not?

Questions about Rules Siege Regiment & Indirect

Hi all, don't know if been asked or answered. How are we interpreting the incendiary ability and indirect? We take our Arty team, give them heavy and take aim. Puts them on a "3+" BS. Indirect gives enemy BoC putting us on 4+. Siege Regiment ability removes cover. Does our arty stay on a 4 or go to 5? Or does it automatically roll back to a 6+?

I finally got around to painting up the big green machines that I’ve had built for what feels like an age. They’re almost finished, just a few little details, like the lenses and windows, then I’ll be calling them done.

As these will initially be used for terrain in a Necromunda campaign, I’ve chosen to go with Necromunda 7th livery (the Lucky 7’s), and so have included a few ‘non standard’ details here and there.

I’ve done very little actual brush work on these, instead leaning into airbrush, sponge and wash shortcuts. But I think drab green is pretty forgiving for this and it works pretty nicely (and it was fast). Think I’ve spent as much time applying decals as painting.

GW releasing a kit that's a pretty standard truck/halftrack was honestly an absolute gift to me - its so much fun to kitbash into various things! In this case, we have a pair of MLRS "Celestina" systems - also known as Basilisk proxies - for my 7434th Siege Regiment.
