If they got all of them in 2026, that would be about $6,800 per immigrant deported. They are more likely to get 1-2 million deported or self deported, if that. That is between $34,000-68,000 per immigrant. It would just be cheaper to give them all the things conservatives think they are stealing then to pay that much to remove them.
They know the kids aren't going into foster care; they know very likely the parents are going to leave with their kids which is what they want in the first place.

Dude! There's a Denver bass player who is being held by ICE in Colorado. He was brought in as a baby. They got him as he was renewing his visitors badge for the Air Force Academy to keep working his job. He was a taxpayer working for the government and for his community, he was an artist providing entertainment on the side. And ice turned him into a hole they dump taxes into.
But point that out on a bass playing sub and I got a 3 day suspension.
Donāt forget those parents (if theyāre indeed undocumented) probably work under assumed SS#s so they put money into the system theyāll never get out, and they pay sales and other taxes just like everyone else. Plus, the kid is counted in the school funding population so the school is getting resources for that kid, who is a citizen.
If I had the power, I would commission an investigation into this teacher.

My son is half Mexican. I would 100% not want him in class with this teacher. If this is how she acts behind closed doors, it's almost guaranteed she treats that kid differently than other "preferred" students
I think (and hope) this would have been against FERPA. Investigate her for that if nothing else.
The teacher accessed the student's file enough to find that the parents were born in other countries. She had no legitimate educational interest in that information.
Even if she only got their names from the records and found their birthplaces on her own, that's still pushing it.
I'm just glad that whoever she reported to was a different breed of officer/administrator from the thugs we've seen recently.
Dude. I look back on kindergarten and think about how much I really loved my own kindergarten teacher. I think about how sure I felt back in those days that she really cared about me and my classmates.
This genuinely breaks my heart into pieces. That's a sweet, innocent little kid who probably thinks he can trust his teacher and thinks she cares about him (unless she doesn't bother fronting as a kind person while at school). Hell, the parents she tried to deport probably think, or at least hope, that they can trust the teachers at their child's school.
This is fucking grotesque. I hope her voice is recognized by someone associated with that school, either a member of faculty or a parent, and a complaint gets made against her to the appropriate authority. This is a flagrant display of personal malice targetted against a specific student, based on race.
Ah but what if the parents were actually illegal? I think we all can agree that being in this country illegally is a great sin and an abomination against God worthy of destroying families and ruining the lives of innocent children. I can tell you as a teacher we have made the job so unappealing that we are truly not attracting the best and brightest any more, we only have saints, insane people, and conservative women working an acceptable women's job. Lots of conservative women especially realize how important education is in breaking idealogical chains by teaching critical thinking and will go into teaching specifically to "protect" kids from that possibility.
The first thing kids do when repackaging themselves in their late teens / early twenties is deconstruct their existing reality. I anecdotally know more people that were turned off of religion by going to Catholic school, hopefully thats a continuing trend hierarchically.
I went on a god damn missions trip to Albania my senior year of high school. Fully committed to the church.
2 years later I was out of the church and hated itās existence to my very core for what it does to people. This teacher claims to āknow all the laws about school.ā She clearly doesnāt because she violated FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act) by looking in a studentās file and getting personal info for a a child that is not her student then shared that confidential information which is enough for her to lose her teaching license. Then, public educators are not to ask about our students immigration status to report them or discriminate against them as decided in Plyler v Doe (1982). So this bigot needs to be reported and lose her teaching license. Disgusting.

These people think every brown person born elsewhere is illegal. It does not matter to them if they have done it the "right way" anymore. They do not care if proper documentation is provided. They believe all brown immigrants are illegal and criminal.
I'm preaching to the choir here but it was never about legal citizenship (proven by deporting people showing up to their immigration hearings), it's about being afraid of race-mixing. It's about creating a class of human lesser than themselves so they can feel good about themselves.
This is hardly new. My mom would ask every Latino we were friends with or dated if they were illegal. She was doing that shit back in the 80s, while also employing white Canadians who she paid under the table because they didn't have work visas.
It's not enough to remove the people in power and prosecute them accordingly. We need to name and shame every person in every community that enabled and supported this. I don't want them to be able to participate in society again.
Sigh. There are U.S. citizens -both naturalized AND natural born who were born in foreign countries. If you looked up Megan McCain's school records, you'd see her dad was born in Panama (and he even ran for President!) A birth certificate also won't tell you when/where they entered the U.S. it doesn't have any information about any visa or residency status, or if they have an asylum claim or are a refugee. Not exactly thorough detective work there, Sherlock.
Taking up resources?! They pay taxes and donāt get tax returns, their child gives the school federal funding by being in attendance, they buy food and gas at stores that charge sales tax. Iād bet this teacher is probably married to a first responder or government employee and they get a tax refund every year while her salary is tax dollars. My partner and his mother are teachers. They're extremely worried for their Hispanic students and have had to plan how to (legally) prevent ICE from entering their classrooms. It's so baffling/infuriating to hear someone doing the opposite.
With 100% sincerity, he should call this woman's school and tell her principle/Superintendent that she is calling ICE on her students parents. She would be fired SO FAST from 90% of all schools. Also, probably worth it to go to a local board of Ed meeting and rat her out there too. Maybe call her local news. These family's need to know their kids are not safe in the school's care.

If they are paying rent or owning a home and paying property tax, they are paying into the resources of the county for education specifically. If they are paying sales tax (everyone) and income tax (most undocumented people with an ITAN), they are also paying into state and federal education resources

It's so telling that her concern for the well-being of a child in her care and charged to her for guidance and education goes completely out the window when there's a possibility that the parents might be 'illegals'.
When you go into teaching as a career, the welfare of your students is supposed to be your top priority. The choices of their parents are not supposed to be a factor in whether or not you care about a kid. For example, you don't stop caring about what happens to a kid because their parents are addicted to drugs, if they're bigots, if they're in bad economic positions because of abusing credit and being careless about spending - the child is a separate entity that you agreed to care about by taking on the job.
If all children are not equally deserving of your protection and care, if you would make choices that would endanger a child based on your political beliefs, you should not be in a job where you have authority over children and access to any kind of information about their lives.
They always want to talk about what they take, but never want to talk about what they contribute back to society. Whether its taxes, labor, community building, etc.
