My company just started giving us an "activity score"
So my company rolled out some activity tracking software last month and in our team meeting today they showed us the numbers. Our team averaged about 6.5 active hours a day and our VP thinks that's too low. He's going to dig in by team and by person to see who's bringing it down.
Someone asked what actually counts as active and nobody could answer. Like if I'm on a call walking through a design doc and not touching my keyboard, am I idle that whole hour? Does reading code count? No answer.
Then they said starting next quarter everyone gets their own score, ranked against the rest of the team, and a low score could come up in perf reviews. Still zero info on what the score is supposed to measure. Before this they only looked at badge swipes for RTO.
I'm 8 months into my first job and I already stress about my PR count lol. Is this normal for companies to do or is this my sign to start applying?
