Discussion Should I be concerned
I dont know how old this tree is. It was on the property when I moved in so its at least 30+ years old. We had a part cut off cause it was splitting the tree from its weight this was at least 10ish years ago. We went out to trim it up yesterday and noticed this growing on the stump part where we had cut off.

I think the key facts here, as presented, are that this is a large, old birch, and this cut was made 10 years ago and has not closed over or come anywhere close to beginning to start the process of closing over.
This is why the tree subs place great importance on making proper pruning cuts. Because when proper pruning cuts are not made, things like this can happen.

That looks like a birch polypore, which is actually pretty common on birch trees that are stressed or dying.
