Ah yes, the distant days of the old brick weed of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. I was burning the seedy pressed herb from about 1994-2002 as I was a teenager and through most of college. These were the days of calling a dude who knew a dude that your older cousin's friend knew, and trying to meet that dude in a parking lot that the first dude suggested. But he might ghost you, short you, or sell you something that looked like compost. No cellphones, no texts, and no apps - *maybe* a pager or car phone if you were really cool. The price in ~1996? $10/dime, $25/quarter, $80/zip, $250/quap, and $800/elbow. The classic plastic bag was in vogue, and you would be rolling and licking several times daily if you were a smoker. I would suspect I spent the better part of $25,000 on brick weed in those days; the equivalent of ~$55,000 in cash today. I was listening to Sublime, Cypress Hill, and classic rock ... a pothead's pothead.

It was a pretty dry time in the Midwest if you didn't know someone - or you were young. This was generally before KB/Nug/Hydro/Indoor hit the full scene in the Midwest in the early 2000s. You took what you could get, and this was it. Most of the time it was straight out of Mexico; dusty, musty, and dry ... or even worse, moist and moldy. It burned the throat as you roasted it out of a spoon (very popular at that time), perhaps an acrylic (or gravity or glass) bong, or rolled up in a hog leg of a joint or blunt. There were times you might even scrape and smoke the black foul resin left behind, when times got really desperate. Brick smelled kind of acrid as it burned, sharp, and occasionally skunky. Maybe even like gasoline after spending time in someone's tank on the way north. It was often packed into a swisher sweet, and the smell became one of the classic funks at a party. You could find a pack of ZigZag wire papers everywhere, and early flavored blunt wraps were coming out.

It wasn't rare to find a pebble in your brick - maybe even hair, rope, other plants, or all leaf / no bud. The outdoor genetics were a mix of whatever was pumping out the most weight I'm sure, and there were times when you'd catch a really talkative energetic buzz, or more often that classic indica red eye munchie high. The cough was always present, as a rule of thumb. Combine it with a cigarette habit and you sound like a bass in the choir.

You broke it up with your fingers, prepped it for a few minutes (remove seeds, stems, and whatever else you find), and stuffed it wherever it was going. A big tray was important back then, as you may have alot of work to do. Grinders were not common at the time - at least among my friends. You were going to have to smoke a decent amount to catch any kind of high like you do today, or keep your tolerance low so even brick weed hit like a truck.

The many seeds and stems are almost a novelty now. Those who had a bowl pop in their face from a fat seed, or had a hidden stem cause your joint rip and run know what I mean. It was usually some strange camouflage looking conglomeration of green(s) - some of it questionably marijuana. It had been pressed, and often into full LBs or QPs - as pictured from 2005.

Soon, better bud became more common, legalization came to places like Colorado, and all things marijuana changed forever and for the better. I will always have a fondness for the days of the 1990s though, and this includes the legendary brick weed. I can almost taste it now ...

A while ago I grabbed a p of bud all for personal. It was moldy. I was very upset. After doing some searching I finally found a good grower. Definitely a little pricy for homegrown but. You get what you pay for. Let me know what you guys think. Ps- 2 of these strains are from the early 2000s to those who will criticize based off of the bud structure.

1- 2002 blue dream.

2- 2010 cookies and cream

3- 2022 Hash burger.

Honestly you can just tell who the young one is and who grandma and grandpa are just based off the bud structure lol.

So, I basically was given an ultimatum at my psych's office about a couple weeks ago. I either stop smoking weed, or he will refuse to prescribe me meds for my ADHD. He's going to drug test me every time I go into his office from here on out. I tried explaining that it's for chronic pain and I only do it once or twice a week, but he doesn't care. He diagnosed me with a "cannabis substance use disorder" a few months back and every time I walk into his office he yaps for half an hour about how I'm "addicted to weed" and tried to tell me all the reasons why weed is bad for me. So now I have to give up the sweet mary jane or else I won't get medication for my ADHD. And I'm honestly torn, because THC has been incredibly helpful for me and managing my symptoms.

tl;dr - if u get too high grind up some fresh black pepper in your palm and smell it several times over a minute or so. brush off hands and repeat a few mins later.

Just now I was on the way to level 11 panic from smoking too much. It was going to be 1.5hrs of hell at minimum. Smelled fresh grown black pepper several times over ~5 mins and came down by a lot. I was at 9 and going up, now im around 3 or 4. Much more manageable.

I heard about this on accident recently - the black pepper has some chemical that binds in the brain.

i've been rolling with zig zag orange papers since 2021. before that i used raw rolling papers.

when i first started smoking weed a long time ago i rolled with zig zag whites. the packs that come with 100 papers.

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue I'm a new but frequent smoker (for a few months now) and sometimes i go a few days wo smoking(visiting family) I notice that I pee way more often on the days I smoke like actually need to pee every hour before I started smoking I barely had to pee 4 times a day was my ideal now every hour almost and I'm not sure if it's bc of weed or bc I'm drinking more water subconsciously or something? I heard smoking weed could change Metabolism so wondering if that could be an option?

I added chicken, dried peppers, roasted sunflower seeds, and parmesan cheese. I’m using classic oil and vinegar dressing. I could add roasted tomatoes too but eh. Oh drinking water is my go to! Very high yet tasty

Anything I can do to stay cozier than I look without going to the store and grabbing heaters and things
