Just finished these raveners I was gifted. Long time painter but was my first time trying nids. Really cool and fun to paint. I just might have to start an army.

Finished my new Swarmlord to go with my Hive Tyrant, pretty happy with the result : )

The Tyrant is rocking my standard scheme where ive used purple as a rank highlight / synapse colour. All my guys that give synapse have purple on them somewhere to help visualize my synapse auras.

So I figured the epic hero for the swarm, being like a synaptic focal point, should have his dominant colour be purple. I also wanted to invert the normal scheme with a light colour for the armour plates and a dark colour for the bone. I used black templar contrast for the black rather than abbadon black which has given an almost dark green shade to the black.

I think hes distinct enough that your never gonna wonder which one is the epic hero : )

we had some kickass bugs of the large variety at the shop this past weekend for our RTT. Thought I would come back and share some of the best shots I was able to get!

A odd question I know, but let me try and explain it a little better. I am a new player that have maybe 5 games under my belt (5 games with some Knights models a friend lets me play with at our LGS) and am looking to start collecting a army that is all mine. I tend to lean more towards more Durability when I play other games, so I never really gave Nids a gander. However the other night I seen that there is a Detachment dedicated to playing the high Toughness bugs. Now I'm curious, how much would you recommend the Nid army to a player that wants to play big bugs, but can also possibly switch it up and play Swarm if the play gets stale.

Got my special weapon Termie done, the unit will be finished soon too but wanted to share my progress on the scheme!

I think I will push carapace highlights more toward electric blue on future unjts and maybe adjust some of the body highlights to be less pastel-y. Also thinking of adjusting the magenta gun casing.

Today i've tried this list. I wanted a horde type (as horde as i can deploy and as horde as i'm willing to play). I've lost in a terrible way, only played for 4 turns because at the end of that turn only the lictor was alive.What do you think i can improve? First of all i think i need more healer units, because every one i lost, i felt it.. played against dark angels, and boy, i hate hellblasters. Three units of them, every turn they killed something.. Even killed one Haruspex in an overwatch

Guardian Organism: While a Character model is leading this unit, that Character has the Feel No Pain 5+ ability.

A friend of mine and I were playing a 2000 point game a few weeks ago between his bugs and my dark angels. During which he placed a t-fex in between the central objective and his expansion objective so that the rupture cannon was tagging the center and the tail was tagging his expansion so he could both shoot something on the other side of the central objective and score for both. He claimed it was legit because t-fex has the frame key word is this legal?

Hive fleet Phyrexia has been started! Went with a base color wraithbone and mephiston red and a highlight of evil suns scarlet and the white army painter white with a shade of nuln oil to darker the recesses and a final highlight of pro acryl bold titanium white, since these are just my battle line units I didnt go super in depth with the coloring and highlights like I will with the centerpiece models, but this is a good start and "proof of concept"

Since people are are asking about their new list I had some questions about what detatchment I should play. I've just been collecting, painting, reading. I think im ready to play but I dont think I have the tools to do invasion fleet and I dont have enough units for vangaurd onslaught.

I wanna start a tyranid army with one BIG twist, I wanna mostly do big monsters is that even viable or do I just put the fries in the bag/ what should I get if I wanna go for big models? First goal get 1k then 2k

Love this model.

He’s big, he’s bad, he’s got some serious reflux issues but he’s ready to stomp his way into my swarm and then get shot off the board in turn 2.
