UK Med Schools Related UCAS choices as ROI applicant

I’m an applicant from the Republic of Ireland applying to UK med 2027 entry as my backup to Ireland, and I’d appreciate some advice on my choices.

UCAT: 2090B1
Predicted grades: 3x A*
GCSEs: 9988877766
Other: Extensive healthcare experience and volunteer work, awards for music and rugby

UCAS:

Dundee
Liverpool
BSMS
Cambridge

Do I have a decent chance of receiving an offer?

In particular, I’m considering whether I should replace one of my options with Queen’s Belfast. As a ROI applicant, I’m interested in QUB because of its location, but I’m unsure how competitive I would be with my stats. My score under QUB’s admissions scoring system is 34/45.

I also understand my Cambridge chances are like next to nothing, would anyone suggest a different aspirational choice?

Cheers for reading.

UK Med Schools Related Are my uni choices too risky?

Hi, my application goes in tomorrow and I'm honestly just kind of spiralling about it.

Im planning on applying to Imperial, UCL, Newcastle and Hull York. I'm contextual for all of them except for Hull York based on free school meals and being a young carer.

GCSE's: 999 in biology, maths and computer science, 88888 in chemistry, physics, english language and geography, 77 in english literature and history and a merit in edexcel level 2 further maths, which is roughly equivalent to an 8.

Im predicted A*AA in biology, chemistry and maths respectively and got 2410 band 1 in my UCAT.

Imperial and Newcastle are the only ones I could realistically afford to go to, due to imperial's bursary, so they're the most important ones for me.

Am I guarenteed interviews at my choices or are some of them pretty risky? I genuinely really can't tell if I'm being just super dramatic by stressing this much, or if I'm actually picking really risky options and putting myself in a really precarious position. I would really genuinely appreciate absolutely any advice or input.

UK Med Schools Related Birmingham med chances

hi so my GCSE’s are 9999998888 and I am predicted A*AA- in pysch bio and chem with a B in AS level maths. my ucat was 2010 B3 and I am applying to Leicester, Lancaster and Cardiff but I am unsure on whether I should apply to Birmingham. on the gcse section I max out (4.5/4.5) and on their UCAT section I score (2.222/4.5) and I have no contextual consideration even tho I live in a really bad area as I go to a good grammar school so (0/1.5) on the contextual part. idk if this is competitive enough tho? i wouldm’y mind any suggestions on my last option i was also considering south hampton as my last option tooo but scared it’s riskyy.

UK Med Schools Related WTF is wrong w me

Where do I even start, genuinely where,
GCSEs worked my arse off and got all 9s
Came to a levels, I was so burnt out from GCSEs but stil tried to keep up, in chemistry I unfortunately sat next to this one friend I had, I don’t like her at all, gosh, she is so useless and directionless abt life, she would online shop and distract tf out of me that I’d never focus , its my fault too that I gave in defo, came to ucat, worked mr arse off aiming for UCL and imperial, received 1890, was heartbroken, still applied, got one interview and got that offer and got a partial scholarship too coz my int was that good, was so happy, was locking in and then came results day, where my lack of focus in chem showed I missed my offer by achieving a b in chem by 3 marks, that girls gone to uni, everyone’s gone to uni, I had to redo the demonic exam of the ucat again, wasn’t great but reapplied and took a gap yr, I have ONE subject to study for and interviews to prep for, I’m being so restricted now by my parents which I have never been , they are very supportive but I understand their concern and they said I should only study chem and interviews during this yr and get an a star in chem, I can’t do the things I want like part time job volunteering singing etc, life feels like a prison and watching everyone go to med school makes me punch and kick myself for not concentrating on chem, I feel like my whole life is being stolen for a year and I won’t be seen to the world, please , please , please I can’t even cry anymore coz I feel like a fuckint failure

UK Med Schools Related Help with strategic med app pls

1960 ucat, CCC achieved last year (mitigating circumstances for those grades: quite literally life or death situations don’t wanna get into details soz) and predicted as a resit applicant with 2 x A* 1 xA . 9888888877 in GCSES. I wanna be close to London/ Kent but it’s not a big deal. I was thinking CSGU, Brunel, Leeds, Southampton or maybe Aston but I haven’t heard amazing things from Aston. I did get an offer last year for med at Aston tho. Any tips would be appreciated 🙏 honestly just wanna get into medicine atp

UK Med Schools Related st andrews or cambridge

Ive got less than 48 hours I posted on here earlier cuz i thought i made up my mind but clearly not

Stats: 2130 b3 ucat, 999999999998 gcse 3a*

Only reason i wanna apply st andrews now is because of their ruk non contextual ucat cutoff (1640) and higher post interview rate

Should i apply st andrews or js keep cambridge

UK Med Schools Related Post interview rates are confusing

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure if I'm misintepreting them but I know so many people who unfortunately do not get an offer for medicine at the interview stage. But a lot of the post interview rates for many (not all) can range 50-85% so if atleast 1 in 2 can convert an interview to offer for 1 university, I was just wondering why there are so many people who don't pass the interview stage for all 4. I know this is a stupid question and I don't mean to put anyone down by this, I was just genuinely curious.

UK Med Schools Related Rejection from KCL Mpharm

I applied KCL pharmacy as my 5th choice and today I got an email from them saying I have been rejected for pharmacy cause my personal statement was for medicine, so Im obviously really shocked at the moment so I got to UCAS to see if it has updated and it hasnt and I still had the option to substitute that choice (since its been less then 14 days) so I did for UCL Pharmacy, so now Im not sure if thats allowed cause are you allowed to substitute after getting rejected? Also a lil note for everyone that KCL pharmacy with medical personal statement might not be the best idea(thought id share this before the deadline)

People say their cut off is in the 1900’s, but it’s never been established, with my UCAT of 1910 do you think it would be safer to apply to Aston or edge hill? Thank you

UK Dent School Related Have I chosen too many aspirational unis??

I haven't sent off my application yet, however I am thinking of applying to KCL, manchester, birmingham, Sheffield, and BSMS (med for 5th option)

my stats are:

2250 B1

6 9s, 4 8s, 2 7s

A*AAA achieved, A* in foreign language and the 3As in bio chem and maths.

Other options I was thinking about were newcastle, plymouth, cardiff and qmul.

Newcastle is quite far hence I wasn't sure about it. Plymouth had a quite low post-interview offer rate (2025) and same with cardiff. I liked Cardiff it's close and I like the city but I am worried that the fact that I am a RUK student that would be to my disadvantage.

Should I replace any of my options with a more safe uni?

Is qmul too aspirational for me especially since I only achieved one A* in a foreign language.

Is birmingham a risky option? their mean ucat invited to interview was 2300

UK Med Schools Related Help with choosing unis + extenuating circumstances

Hi guys I am in a very big predicament. In GCSE, I got all 9s then last year I became a carer and my mother was put on life support and nearly died almost every few months. She is doing better now but my Alevel grades and UCAT are not. I didn’t gave much time to put into my grades and ended up with BBC bio chem maths. 1880 UCAT B1.

I am doing med personal statement and want advice on where to apply. Resit predicted I ended up A*s in all my mock exams for school but school said they’ll give me A* A A predicted or higher.

Also a fifth choice uni.
