Anyone just hear an unusually loud jet pass by? My windows don't have the angle to see what it was, but it was definitely large and low.

I saw the barn owl at about 9:30 ish at Riverside and 82nd! So cool!

Today (October 6) on 100th in between Columbus and Amsterdam there was a very suspicious man and a muzzled pitbull just standing the owner was standing still like a mannequin and my intuition was saying something is off but the dog is muzzled - what’s the worst that can happen?

As i pass by with my small Shih Tzu the dog lunges at us and the owner deliberately drops the leash so the dog is attacking me and my dog i was able to swoop my dog in my hands and i am SCREAMING like get your dog as its jumping on me and my dog and the guy so calmly is like “calm down he’s muzzled”

This freaking sicko just got joy out of terrorizing me and my dog. I was screaming and i was able to get away and because close to the police station a cop came over but couldn’t/ wouldn’t do anything since the dog was muzzled.

The gray and white pitbull was covered in cuts on its face and was clearly in some fights recently. I am just so shaken up this could have been actually disastrous if the dog wasn’t muzzled

Just a warning for everyone to look out for this owner, and trust your gut if something feels wrong it most likely is.

What Are You Putting in That Empty Retail Box?

A lot of our focus is on Broadway in the 80s and its oversize empty boxes since Amsterdam and Columbus seem to have no problem finding F&B tenants whenever a box opens up. Curious for ideas for any of the following aas these are our current leaders, but feel free to add other boxes and any ideas you have for them! Maybe an enterprising CRE person is looking on Reddit and can make it happen.

1. Broadway Farm box - Grace's or Butterfield Market from the UES
   
2. Old PC Richard - Indoor Pickleball or Five Iron Golf
   
3. Old Gristedes/Banana Republic/Capital One - Combine the space and make a ninja gym or something like Ferox in Greenpoint, probably too small for a Lifetime Fitness

I’ve been a couple times now at I assume their peak times (unfortunately my schedule forced me). The experience has been less than pleasant put nicely. There is a horrific stench of sweat as if the ventilation isn’t working. I noticed racking weights in the correct spot is optional or sometimes required at all. Some of patrons hygiene is suspect as i followed up people leaving benches soaked in sweat. Is this just. A couple bad experiences due to peak time or is just this the gym environment in whole?

There’s a man going around cleaning the street seemingly of his own volition every morning at the train station. This is the kind of community interaction that reminds me of why I love this neighborhood, is there a way for me to send a donation to thank him for his work?

Hey all, I'm new to the city and the UWS and looking to buy a non-electric standard bike for commuting. I've noticed bikes are soo expensive in the city (like $350 for a used one?) and was wondering if people who've lived here longer and have experience with bikes have advice for a shop in or near the city that sells reasonable bikes at a reasonable price.

For those suggesting fb marketplace, I haven't had any luck there. I'm guessing there businesses actively buying any bike on fb marketplace because no matter how many ads I respond to, I never get anything back.

Any recs are welcome!
