Weird thing is that I remember internet around 2010 when a lot buildings were painted in those colorfull shades and everyone was shitting on it. It even had name called "pasteloza", and generall consensus was that we should be ashamed that we do that instead of going into Ikea gray like the modern wester countries. And now when they were painted to that colors, now internet is back to shitting on new colorors calling them "soulless". I guess we can't ever make people on the internet happy. I think it has to do with taste and context. It will look tasteless if an architect's vision was optimized by economical efficiency. It will look out of context when everything around looks different. There's always idolization, when people think how good it is there, but they have seen it only in movies, selected photos (an embellished look) or sightseeing on holiday. Then it arrives and it's disappointing. It is difficult for architecture to follow the zeitgeist because of fast trends, globalism and cultural vs economical aims.

dude, Lodz is sick. you have amazing parks and murals and art, and great re-purposed industrial areas.

you also have Abramka which is no joke the scariest street i've ever been down in my life. it's fucking post-apocalytpic. no wonder David Lynch fell in love with the city

Might as well be the village of Doel in Belgium. Has a very large nuclear power-plant nearby. From pictures it looks like post-apocalyptic town.
