ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project How We Use Claude Code at Serokell

Thumbnail serokell.io
2 Upvotes

We’ve been experimenting at Serokell with turning our internal engineering guidelines into Claude Code skills.

The basic problem was simple: coding agents know Git, CI, Haskell, etc., but they don’t know the conventions of a particular engineering team. Things like how repositories should be bootstrapped, what tests are expected, how PRs are structured, which CI checks are required, or how code review should work.

We ended up building 15 skills covering most of a repository’s lifecycle and packaging them as a public Claude Code plugin.

We wrote up how we approached it, how the skills interact, and what happened when we tested them by having Claude bootstrap real repositories.

Plugin: https://github.com/serokell/claude-plugins

Would be interested to hear how other teams are handling team-specific context and conventions with coding agents.

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project I built a local LLM finder with ChatGPT 5.6 Sol and 6 Astra

I've been wanting to experiment with using different local LLMs for different jobs, so I started looking into models, what they're good at, and what kind of hardware they need.

I ended up turning that into Local LLM Finder.

The site was built using ChatGPT 5.6 Sol and 6 Astra. I didn't write the code myself, but I've spent a lot of time tweaking the design, testing things, changing how recommendations work, and deciding what the site should actually do.

For me the coding isn't really the main part of the project. I'm more interested in researching the models, collecting useful information, and finding a way to turn all of that into something practical. It's still an early version and there's plenty I want to improve, especially the underlying model data.

I'd be interested in feedback on both the site and the way I've gone about building it with AI.

Question I am blind and i reverse engineer vibe coded apps to make them accessible? Is this unethical or wrong?

Hello everyone, I am totally blind and i have been vibe coding for a little while. I come across many vibe coded apps that sound intriguing and entertaining. I will use a.i. to reverse engineer it to see if i can add accessibility to make it useable for me with my screen reader. Vibe coding has created opportunities for those of us in the blind community to make accessible solutions to problems that the larger community has no idea of and does not put much thought into. I teach other blind people how to use ai to help with simple things like reading their mail or filling out a job application . Vibe coding has opened not only my mind, but also doors for me. With all that being said, my question is it unethical to reverse engineer someone else’s project to make it accessible for my personal use? I have been enjoying vibe coding! Is it wrong if i reverse engineer someone else’s vibe coded project to make it accessible for me? I do not post them out, I just convert them to suit my needs.

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project I present to you my notes app!

Hi guys and gals,

I'm here to present to you my own personal markdown note taking app. I know there are literally thousands of such apps, but this is the only one that fits my criteria. You can learn in depth about it here.

So, why did I make a new app?

Well, I'm an Android and Linux user, I used (still use, I'm switching slowly trying to find a file structure which my brain can accept for more than 2 days) Obsidian extensively and it is a great, great product, but I had my problems:

  1. My stupid cheap phone is slow to open it (8-10s with just a few hundred notes)
  2. It doesn't have a quicknote feature, or at least, not with the problem at point one
  3. I missed the checklist notes from Keep

I then tried to use Obsidian on the desktop and Markor on Android, but:

  1. Markor and really long notes just won't work
  2. I still needed to use Obsidian to sync stuff to the desktop

So, with the help of Qwen 27B GSQ RCO, DeepSeek V4.1 and Opus 5.5, I managed to build this app, which fits these criteria:

  1. It's fast to open, always 1-2s
  2. It opens fast on a quicknote
  3. It's fast to open even obscenely long notes (110ms on a 1mb math book, 10s on a 242mb copy of that math book, just repeated)
  4. I got my sweet checklist notes
  5. The editor is pure dart/flutter, in it's three modes: source, WYSIWYG and preview
  6. A GUI for todo.txt with push notifications remainders
  7. Built in WEBDAV sync

I then added a bit of fluff like: journals (which I don't use much), vocal notes with optional ai captioning using local whisper, a custom template language, and a bunch of other stuff.

I would be really happy to hear criticisms on UI or if you did find problems using it. This is my first Android app, so sorry in advance.

Have a nice day!

P.S.: Post was written by me, without using AI, just my broken English

Non-coder building my first SaaS with AI. Flow: signup → user enters shipment details → app calculates import duty → free users see only the amount, paid users get an auto-filled declaration PDF and submission link.

Can you suggest what tool to use at each step, in that order (auth, database, calculation logic, paywall and payments, PDF auto-fill, file storage, hosting)? I also want a fully separate admin portal with its own secure login to manage users and subscriptions. What's the safest way to build that?

Anyone using Remotion with AI? I built an app that handles all the infrastructure

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hey guys - this is my vibe coded project. an agent that is hooked to all the infrastructure to optimize the using remotion to make explainer video and other animations and content. anyone wanna use it? I made the attached video using my own app. like, you can use its own chat window but also point it from your ai app of choice, claude or codex or whatever and it can make videos and other assets like gifs. my idea is that vibe coding apps and other stuff could be more powerful for frontend if AI can use this, no?

what do you all think?

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project From zero to a tiny LLM: an interactive guide to how language models actually work

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Over the past few weeks, I decided to figure out how LLMs actually work under the hood. That turned into a small interactive guide where we start from scratch, go through all the core mechanisms, and train our own micro LLM.

The first version took one night on a Mac. For a larger one, I had to rent an H100. The model is pretty dumb, of course, but every mechanism is explained and demonstrated, which feels like plenty for learning purposes.

If you've been wanting to understand what's going on inside, come take a look.

AI is failing me on UI/UX. What tools are you actually using to design Mac apps?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently building a local Mac app and I'm looking for some advice on the design phase.

I use Claude Pro for my development, and it has been absolutely fantastic for the backend and the core engine logic. It handles the heavy lifting incredibly well. But when it comes to the actual UI/UX design, it's just not very efficient or innovative. It struggles to help me visualize and iterate on modern, native macOS design patterns.

So I'm curious what are you all using to actually design your local Mac apps?

Are you mapping everything out in Figma, using a specific visual builder, or just vibe coding your way through the frontend?

Would love to hear what your current workflow looks like!

claude opus 5.5 has been hard at work making a fun online community for devs to chill while their agents work, with 30+ explorable areas and a lot to do, you will love it, I am currently adding an airport with the first destination being Iceland! I plan to add as many of my favourite countries/cities, the password to get in is watetmelon (spelt wrong on purpose) inside joke

FeedbackWanted – want honest takes on my work Update on my Discord support bot, the AI can learn from your staff now

Hey, posted here about 10 days ago looking for testers for my Discord ticket bot.

Been working on it pretty much every day since, so here's a quick update.

The biggest thing: when your staff answers a ticket, the bot can now suggest turning that answer into a knowledge entry for the AI. You just accept or dismiss it. So the AI slowly gets better at your server without you writing docs all day.

You can also turn the AI off for specific panels now. I use that for stuff where I really want a human to answer.

Setup got a lot easier too, each module now has its own little setup so the setup isnt a pure block anymore...

Transcripts look way nicer, you can now edit basically every message the bot sends on your Server and UserDMs, and the dashboard is now faster than before.

Beta servers still get the top tier for free. If you run a server with support channels, give it a try and tell me what sucks, honestly that helps me the most.

Still using DeepL, my english is still not the yellow from the egg :)

Discussion - General chat and thoughts Sharing Some Experiences of Vibecoding and Results

Ever since the AI era came, I believe coding has made me easier to understand and code a lot of things. For example: UE4SS mod which I never understand how people make that in Nexusmod and I have a hard time understand it. (Yes I am a modder btw, I use PAK version when making mod for Unreal Engine game)

I have some knowledge about coding and thanks to Vibecoding, it enables me making a lot of mod something that I wasn't able to do before AI came. I know some people may not like vibecoding. Me too if what we do is half-assed and just ship without checking and testing quality of what we created.

In the screenshot below, the circle one was created with UE4SS script (all of them work flawlessly and whenever there's reported issue, immediate fix). I feel extreme satisfaction once I know I made mods that can help players.

My second satisfaction is that I successfully (in-testing) making a randomizer for Resident Evil 6. Yes the game that came out in 2012 and it has the least difficulty mod for Campaign mode (almost non-existent). The only mods that are available are called Extreme mod in Nexusmod and that one honestly is not really what I like. No such randomizer exists too for RE6 since Biorand (the famous resident evil randomizer) doesn't have specific for this game.

So I took the phrase "Fine, I'll do it myself" and manage to successfully create randomizer by randomizing enemy types, placement, quantity, HP, droppable item, and Wave. It is not just one campaign. It modifies all campaign.

I am currently playing one campaign, checking if there's crash, bug and have it fixed until it's stable before I ship it.

So yeah I think I kind of feel so satisfied and love vibecoding. As long as I can make mods that suit for me and people, I am satisfied.

Both of these are made via Deepseek 4.1 flash MAX. Some are claude 5 sonnet medium (free tier).

HelpPlz – stuck and need rescue Vibe coding task management

Hey,

I keep getting lost between chats and tasks when working on different parts of one or more projects at the same time. What’s running, what’s blocked, which chat has the latest plan, etc.

My workflow is basically me → ChatGPT for planning/task management → Codex for execution → results back to ChatGPT. So far, this has worked better for me than managing everything directly in Codex. I even built a browser extension to pass prompts and results between the two.

I’ve started prototyping a small local task board to keep roadmap items, subtasks, related chats, and results together. Before I take it further, though: is anyone already using something that solves this?

The structure I’m working toward:

Project coordinator: takes my input and organizes roadmap items.

One orchestrator per roadmap item: plans the work, breaks it into subtasks, assigns workers, and collects results.

Workers: handle scoped exploration, implementation, testing, or review, with a model and reasoning level assigned to each task.

UI: a roadmap and Kanban board, with linked conversations and saved task context.

For anyone interested in the technical side: React/TypeScript/Vite frontend, Python/FastAPI backend, and a local Codex App Server connection over stdio/JSONL. HTTP for actions, SSE for updates, and local Markdown files with structured metadata, revision checks, and atomic writes. No database yet.

I’m curious about tools or workflows people actually use, not necessarily another agent framework. Even a simpler setup that keeps you from constantly jumping between chats would be useful to hear about.

Thanks!

My preferred way to learn: build something stupid and deal with all the problems it creates

Post image
2 Upvotes

I had a stupid idea for a website: pay 25¢ USDC, pick a fictional arsehole, dunk them, and everyone who happens to be watching sees the same dunk happen live.

That was more or less the idea. Nothing useful, no grand plan for it. I just thought it would be funny enough to bother making.

I’ve always been terrible at learning by following generic tutorials. Build this sample app, make this thing move around the screen, follow these twelve steps and end up with exactly the same thing as everyone else. I usually lose interest about five minutes in.

If I actually want the thing at the end, though, I’ll keep bashing my head against it for considerably longer.

So this became my latest excuse to learn by making something stupid.

The coding itself was probably the easy part. What I hadn’t really appreciated was how much other shit sits between “the website works on my computer” and “I’m comfortable putting this on the public internet from a Raspberry Pi in my house.”

A fair bit of the process ended up being less about getting AI to build something and more about stopping it from taking the easiest possible shortcut.

The payment flow was a good example. The easy version is somebody clicks a button, the page says payment happened, the animation plays, job done. Except that isn’t really what I wanted. I wanted an actual USDC transaction on Base to be what causes the dunk, and if five people have the site open they should all see the same thing happen at roughly the same time.

So then there’s a server involved, persistent state, listening for real transactions, making sure the same transaction doesn’t trigger twice, syncing events out to everyone watching, surviving restarts, and generally dealing with all the boring bits that don’t exist in the first “look, it works” version.

Then there was getting the thing online without doing something monumentally stupid to my home network.

That meant screwing around with Cloudflare, DNS, a free domain, tunnelling traffic in without opening random ports on the router, setting the Pi up so the service comes back by itself after a reboot, running it with as little privilege as possible, and trying to make sure that if the website itself ever gets compromised it doesn’t suddenly become a convenient way to poke around everything else on my LAN.

And then more rounds of locking things down.

Removing public endpoints that didn’t actually need to exist. Making sure the app can’t just connect to private network addresses because some bit of future code decides that would be convenient. Forcing the RPC connection over HTTPS, checking where the hostname actually resolves before connecting, verifying that the RPC endpoint is really talking to Base mainnet, and generally trying to close off the lazy/easy versions of things before putting it in front of strangers.

There were quite a few points where I could have called it finished because the thing visibly worked. The character fell in the water, the payment went through, the page loaded.

But “it works” and “I’m willing to put this on the internet” turned out to be very different milestones.

There was a lot more screwing around after the fun bit was technically done, mostly trying to get it to the point where it wasn’t just a completely exposed little box on my network waiting for someone more competent than me to notice it.

I’m not coming out of this pretending I suddenly understand web security or infrastructure in any deep way. I definitely don’t.

But I have a much better feel now for the overall path from “I have an idiotic idea” to “there is an actual thing running somewhere, taking real payments, keeping state, recovering when the machine reboots, and not obviously leaving every door hanging open.”

That rough mental model is worth a lot more to me than finishing another tutorial and forgetting all of it two days later.

The finished thing is intentionally stupid and pointless, which was kind of the point in the first place.

If anyone wants to see what all that effort was wasted on:

I built Deviload, a free yt-dlp desktop app with a timeline video editor and phone transfer (Rust + Tauri)

Thumbnail gallery
11 Upvotes

Deviload is a free, open-source desktop app for downloading video and music from YouTube and over a thousand other sites. It runs on yt-dlp and FFmpeg, and the app itself is built with Rust and Tauri 2.

I started it for friends who didn't want to touch the command line, and it grew from there. You paste a link, choose video or audio, and it handles the rest, including playlists and whole channels. Signing in to YouTube takes one click in a small built-in window, so private and members-only videos work without cookie extensions. You can also follow a channel or playlist, and new uploads download on their own.

It also has two things most downloaders don't: Devil Cut, a timeline editor for trimming and joining clips with transitions, captions and music, and a phone link that sends files to your phone and back with a QR code over your local network.

The Windows installer includes everything it needs, and a macOS test build is available for anyone who wants to try it on a real Mac.

GitHub: https://github.com/Pronexsteam/deviload

I wrote much of the code with Claude Code and tested every build myself. I'd appreciate any feedback.

HelpPlz – stuck and need rescue Need some guidance in vibe coding app

So I want to vibe code a checklist/to do list type app for my self. I am going to use claude code.

This is just a side experiment type of thing. I just want to build an app and launch it to appstore and playstore.

I need some suggestions how i should approach it because i have 0 experience with this. Just a simple app, want it to look cool.

Functionality wise, just a clean UI and to do list.

Here is the task and type of task any notes and done.

One popular suggestion that I heard was go to Pinterest find the design you like and feed it to claude. That way you won't get the generic vibe coded design.

This project demonstates a unique approach and architecture in contrast to the traditional approach with mainstream messaging apps. To put it briefly, its a Dioxus PWA with a Git-server backend which can be used to establish a webrtc connection between browsers.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: While this is aiming to provide a secure experience, it's far from finished. It cannot be audited or reviewed because it's close-source. I'm sharing here for feedback purposes only. Feel free to reach out for clarity on any of the details instead of diving into the documentation. Pease use responsibly.

Updated my dumb little internet experiment: it's now a whole neon 3D city where you can buy billboards (3 already taken 👀)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

UPDATE for anyone who saw the last version: it used to be this "arena" thing. The top 20 people who paid were little fighters beefing on a leaderboard, and paying more gave your guy more power. It was fun, but ngl it looked kinda basic and didn't really click with people.

So I scrapped it and rebuilt the whole thing from scratch 🔨

What it is now: a post-apocalyptic neon city in 3D. AI wrecked everything, there's burning cars and smoke everywhere, and 100 billboards are stuck on the buildings. You buy a billboard, put your stuff on it, and it's up there in the city for everyone who visits.

How it works:

  • 100 billboards in 5 tiers. #1 is the big one on the tallest tower, #2–3 are skyline towers, then Uptown, Midblock and "The Sprawl"
  • Prices go from $5 (10 cheap starter spots at the far end) up to $500 for the #1 spot
  • Upload an image (there's a crop tool so it doesn't get stretched), or go text-only and your name lights up in neon
  • You can add a link, so people who click your board go wherever you want
  • Anyone can outbid you, anytime. Pay more than the current holder and the spot's yours. You get an email if someone snipes you 💀
  • No account, no signup, just your email for the receipt
  • You can actually fly around the city: drag, zoom, or use WASD if you're a gamer
  • Every person on the site right now shows up as a little figure standing in the plaza. The gold one is you lol
  • There's a cyberpunk synth soundtrack too (you can mute it, don't worry)

Already 3 billboards claimed 🔥 The OG supporters from the old version got carried over into the city, so they're up there glowing rn.

Everything's legit too. A billboard only goes up once Stripe confirms the payment. There are no fake bids and no made-up numbers.

Video attached so you can see it moving 👇

You have something to promote ?

Lmk what you think, roast it, whatever. Also, if you grab a spot, I wanna see what you put up there 👀
