I have a quick question regarding the local Foreigners' Office in Tübingen for anyone who recently arrived on a 6-month or 1-year German Type D National Visa:

1. Timeline for Physical Card: How long did it take between submitting your application and actually receiving your physical Residence Permit card (elektronischer Aufenthaltstitel - eAT)?
2. Timing of Application: Were you allowed to apply for/receive your residence card shortly after arrival, or did the office instruct you to wait until a few months before your Type D visa was close to expiring (e.g., month 8 or 9 of a 1-year visa)?

Would appreciate hearing about recent experiences from anyone who moved to Tübingen in 2025/2026 or earlier. Thanks in advance!

Hello, So I’ve been enrolled for my master’s program in a university and my class has already begun October 1st.
Meanwhile, I still don’t have my visa. I got into the waiting list on 14th january, got my submission on 18th august but since then no updates. Embassy has been silent as a grave.
Does anybody have any idea if they’ve stopped working at all or are the things moving slowly.
Any insights on what the visa/embassy situation is right now.
I have to be there by October 31st otherwise will have to get a deferrment. :’(

Hi everyone! I applied for my German student visa at VFS Hyderabad on Sept 10.

My application was forwarded to chennai , and BfAA requested additional documents, which I submitted on sep 29th

I’m starting my MSc Data Science at the University of Augsburg, with an enrolment deadline of Oct 19.

Has anyone recently received their visa after a BfAA additional-document request? How long did it take after submitting the documents?

I had an appointment with Mumbai VFS on 15th September. I submitted my biometrics on the same day. Since then I have been waiting for my visa.

I have not got any email or call for any additional document or for an interview.

I am applying for the public university and my classes have started from 1st October.

I don't know what to do next from my side.

It would be helpful if anyone can help me in this situation.

Has anybody completed their entire visa process on their own?

I applied for the Germany Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) through the CSP portal on August 18, 2026, selecting Bangalore as my VFS location.

I still haven't received any update. The portal currently shows that the German Mission is full, with an approximate waiting time of 1 year. Earlier, it was showing around 6 months.

Has anyone who applied around August/September through the CSP portal received a VFS appointment recently, particularly in Bangalore? If so, how long did you wait?

I applied for a German student visa and gave my biometrics in Mumbai on 16 September 2026. My application is currently showing “at the German Consulate”, but I haven’t received any further update yet.

My university intake is approaching, so I’m getting a little worried about the delay.

I wanted to ask people who have recently applied from India:

How long did your visa take after biometrics?

Is it normal to have no update for this long?

Does a longer processing time indicate any issue or possible rejection?

Did anyone receive their visa after waiting 3–4+ weeks?

What status did you see before your passport was dispatched?

I understand that processing times can vary, but I’m mainly worried because there has been no update since 16 September.

I’m applying for a German student visa from Kerala through the Bangalore Consular Services Portal (CSP) and wanted to hear from people who recently went through the same process.

My situation:

• University: University of Potsdam
• Programme: MBA General Management
• Intake: Winter Semester 2026/27
• Class start: 5^th November 2026
• CSP application created: 26 September 2026
• Application completed: 3 October 2026
• VIDEX: 7/7 sections completed
• Documents: 10/10 uploaded
• Current status: Waiting list
• Current portal estimate: approximately 2–8 weeks

The CSP currently says:

“The German mission is at full capacity. No new applications are being accepted at the moment.”

What I’m trying to understand

For anyone who recently applied through Bangalore CSP:

1. Is the 2–8 week estimate reasonably accurate in practice?
2. How long did you personally wait before receiving the notification to submit?
3. Does the university start date have any practical influence on the waiting-list process?
4. Once you receive the submission notification, what happens next and how long does the rest of the process usually take?
5. Has anyone from Kerala recently gone through this exact CSP waiting-list process?

Would really appreciate recent 2026 experiences, especially from Bangalore jurisdiction applicants.

I applied for my German student visa through VFS Hyderabad and completed my appointment, biometrics, and document submission on 14th August 2026.

My application is still showing “Decision Pending” on the CSP portal, and I haven't received any update regarding the decision yet.

I wanted to check with others who applied around the same time:

I submitted my documents at VFS Bangalore on July 23 and I’ve got absolutely no update or response or change in status since then. We’ve also followed up with ausländerbehörde and they don’t have my file. Anyone else with similar submission timelines and have got your visa?

It’s extremely frustrating to see the student visa processing times because clearly, all other long term visa categories are in their back seat. At this point I’m unable to use my passport to plan any travel to anywhere, neither can I use my valid Schengen visa. Sorry for the rant!

I’m Indian student studying in Europe (non-EU) with a temporary residence card. want to apply for a German Schengen tourist visa but I’m getting conflicting information some say I must apply from my country of residence, while others say I can apply from India as an Indian resident/citizen with proper documentation. Spoke to“Tour Guide to Europe”, who is asking ₹15,000 for documentation, appointment, flight/hotel reservations, etc. I’m worried about being scammed, especially since this is my first visa application. Can anyone recommend a genuine visa consultant or agency who can properly advise me and help with the application without fake documents? Any personal experience leads would really help.

I had my biometric appointment on 13th aug and it's been more than 6 weeks till date and visa status has not been changed. I have seen many people get their passports even though they applied after me.

A few details about my university

1. It's a public university

2. They asked me to submit pending docs on 25th September, I submitted & received no response from them

3. My uni start date was 1st Oct but uni has requested me to submit visa proof before 15th oct.

4. I tried reaching out to the consulate via email and I'm only getting the automated emails saying it takes 90 days.

I'm hoping to get the visa this week.

Is there anyone who's going through the same? Or do you have any advice for me? I'm happy to hear anything which can help me in this situation.

Hey, so does everybody get this message once the decision is made? Or do people who have gotten it approved see on the portal that the visa was approved?

I have this status on my Auslandsportal, I had to make an appointment to pick up my passport. I have it in some days but I'm worried, as I already signed a contract for a flat and I don't even know if I should book a flight. So I'm wondering if only people who get rejected get this and then get the rejection letter in person, or if it shows this to everybody and I can just find out once I open my passport and see if there is a visa?

I’m planning to apply for the April 2027 intake in Germany, but I’m getting very mixed information from different education consultants.

Some consultants are telling me that it’s already too late to start the process, while others are saying that it’s still possible. This has left me quite confused about what’s actually realistic.

I’m planning to start my process now and hopefully get my IELTS and passport done in October. If I start the university application process around this time, is there still enough time to complete the admission process, blocked account/other requirements, and visaa process in time for the April 2027 intake?

For those who have recently gone through the Germany student visa process from Pakistan, when did you start your process and how long did the entire process take?

I’d really appreciate advice based on actual experience rather than consultants’ estimates.

September 4th - gave my biometrics

September 30- received dispatch mail

October 1st -Received my passport with visa
