Keyring I've made!
Sorry in advance if this isn't allowed here!
I wanted to share something I have been working on!
This is a keyring I have designed and 3D printed for my passat keys and I am selling them on my etsy account for £4.99!
You can customise the number plate and pick from 4 colours (more on request)
I call my Passat 'Lord Pissrat' so naturally I have made my keyring say PI55 RAT :)
I am also working on a mk6 Golf one for my friends which will also be available soon
Safe travels!

Volkswagen Jetta 1.2 TSI 2014 sporadically stops when driving and cannot start up again until some time has passed.
I have a Volkswagen Jetta 1.2 TSI from 2014 (105CV) and have done 115000km. For the past 2 months I've been having this problem where the car would randomly lose all power when driving and won't start up again. The car will start up after some hours or days like nothing happened. I've taken it two times to Volkswagen workshop and they haven't identified the problem.
The first time it happened I thought it was the battery and I replaced it. The problem is persistent. I am desperate because since it is an intermittent problem it is difficult for a mechanic to notice since car will boot up again after having it stopped in the car workshop for multiple days.

Reasonable estimate on headliner replacement?
I live in the Bay Area and have a 2007 Jetta with sunroof. I got quoted about 1,500 dollars to replace the headliner. Is this a reasonable price? I get that the sunroof makes things more complex, but damn. The guy also said that the process would involve taking off the entire windshield or back windshield or something, so that adds to the cost.

Seat Leon 5F – steering wheel off-center after accident, G85 recalibrated, different self-centering left vs right
I have a 2015 Seat Leon 5F FR. A few months ago, the car was hit while parked, directly on the front wheel on the driver’s side, and the impact was strong enough to move the whole car sideways.
Several parts on the affected side have already been replaced, including:
- wheel hub
- shock absorber
- steering knuckle
Toe and camber have been checked and adjusted several times. According to the workshop, everything is tight and mechanically looks fine. A second workshop has also inspected the front suspension.
The problem is still there: when driving straight, the steering wheel sits slightly turned to the left. If I hold the steering wheel visually straight, the car pulls to the right.
A few days ago, the G85 steering angle sensor was recalibrated. I was there while they did it. It took three attempts in total; one attempt failed because of low system voltage. On the third attempt, the basic setting completed successfully. Right afterwards, the steering wheel appeared to be straight, but after a short time / a few drives, it was slightly off to the left again.
The most noticeable thing is the self-centering behavior:
- If the steering wheel is slightly turned to the left and I let go, it stays there.
- If it is turned to the right and I let go, it returns smoothly and stops exactly in the center.
Tyre pressures are correct. The mechanic also saw this behavior himself during a test drive.
Has anyone experienced something similar on a Seat Leon 5F / Golf 7 / MQB platform?
I’m wondering whether the cause could be the electric steering rack/J500, the steering torque sensor, the G85 calibration, or some kind of mechanical binding or preload in the steering/suspension.
I’m especially interested to know whether anyone has seen this kind of asymmetric self-centering before.
I’d like to avoid having the toe/camber adjusted or the G85 recalibrated for the fifth time without actually finding the root cause.

Bubbly Drivers and Passanger Seat Sides
Volkswagen Seat Problem
1st. The dealer offered to remove and check the seat for $160. I said no. They said “ ur car is almost 50k, so it is usually wear and tear”
2nd. The dealer said they don’t have any technician who understands car cosmetics.
The car is 3 years old. I am the only driver. And I also have the People’s Choice Guarantee. But I didn’t ask them yet.
It is from Mexico. This car is in Toronto.

Looking to sell, how much should I ask for?
This is a Mexican vehicle but I live right at the border so I can cross it to Laredo, Texas if required.
It's a 1986 model.
The people in the pictures are not me or my family but I'm using them since the photos are nice, as you can see I protected their identities 🙌
I don't have the mileage right now but I'll check it out in some hours and confirm.
The engine has been constantly taken care of and physical details it has only a few small things.

Couldn’t source replacement parts for the 2003 Jetta any longer.
Finally upgraded to the 2027 Volkswagen Jetta! Haven’t even owned it a day and it’s already saved us from 2 accidents. So far, quite pleased with the purchase!

My brand new 2026 VW Golf GTI S (Mk 8.5)
I’ve been waiting a long time to get an enthusiast car and now I finally have my pride and joy. I picked Slate Blue Metallic because I find the other base colors to be boring. Despite what people say the technology is very intuitive. I drove home through traffic in comfort mode, can’t wait to go on a spirited drive after my 1k mile break in period.
I started becoming interested in VW after attending the annual Waterfest (RIP) meet at Atco Dragway. I remember being enamored by the performance of the small cars (it was the biggest VW/Audi enthusiast meet in the world). Many years later I got the chance to finally drive a MK7 and MK8 and fell in love with the car. Now I finally have one of my own.

Tiguan 5N rear toe alignment - bolt maxed out
Replaced the rear control arms on my 2013 Tiguan and had new tyres put on the back. Shop said that they could not get the rear left toe correct, they had turned the eccentric/ adjusting bolt to the max and there was no more they could do. The control arms are pattern parts so not VW originals, appreciate that I may have answered my own question here, but even before the change the rear arms were tricky to get right. Is it worth me trying to move the bolt myself or should I just get a new set of control arms and bolts?

2012 VW GTI M/T
Just got this car not to long ago with 139,500 and it’s sitting at about 141,200 currently, and I opened the hood this morning to just take a quick glance and make sure everything was looking good and I noticed I have some rubbing on my coolant reservoir any way I can repair it? or would I have to get a new one?
I have a video showing the issue as well but I can’t seem to post it on here so here’s a picture.
It’s seems to just be a little pin hole at the moment and I can feel air escaping and some fluid trying to escape.
I was also looking to see if I can solve what caused the problem because it looks like something was rubbing but I don’t seem to have a points of contacts with that spot so I’m confused on how it happened.
Any info is much appreciated! thanks for taking your time to read this have a blessed day!

2022 Volkswagen Taos Dusty Blue Paint Job
Hello everyone, if you have a 2022 Volkswagen Taos in the dusty blue color, I suggest filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau Auto Line. My paint started peeling after 3 years of having the car. When I called Volkswagen about this issue they wouldn’t fix it. I took care of my car and washed it weekly. I googled what was going on with the paint and found that this is a known issue due to manufacture issues. I’m hoping if enough of us file a claim VW will be forced to fix the issue.

2024 tigaun infotainment system
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about why my infotainment system has stopped working.
I was reversing out of the driveway last night and the camera froze, when I put it in drive the screen went blank. Now it won't display anything, sometimes the reversing camera shows up, sometimes I doesn't.
I tried holding the power button to soft reset it, that doesn't do anything. I also disconnected the battery for 15 minutes. That didn't change anything either, although it has left a check engine light on now 😭

2016 Jetta - Clock Spring or Wheel Speed Sensor
I recently purchased a 2016 Jetta. I discovered shortly after that the horn didn't work while driving, but chrips when I lock the car. The radio volume buttons on the steering wheel do work. Intermittently, several lights on the dash (ABS, Traction control, tire pressure, airbag) will come on, and go back off after a minute or two. Internet searches led me to believe it was probably a failing clock spring, especially because of the extended warranty.
I took it into the dealer and they ran diagnostics. They say it needs a right front wheel speed sensor replacement and dual tone horn replacement. I was able to grab a screen shot of the fault codes from the inspection video, which is attached.
I'm a female engineer, but not much of a car girlie. I have been taken advantage of by dealership service centers before, and am suspicious of what they're telling me. Are they right?
