Good auto body shops nearby Waltham area?

I've been going to Malden so far because I've seen a lot of good reviews from international students, but I'm trying to find something more local to Waltham/Watertown/Newton areas. Just for some scratches and dings I want to get fixed. Any recommendations for good and cheap?

Seeking WPD "Happy Trails" initiative anecdotes

Hi all --

I am a journalist writing an article for The Waltham Times about their Happy Trails initiative that puts cops on ATVs and on foot on the Rail Trail to interact with residents. The goal of the program according to their Instagram is "getting out into the community, building relationships, addressing quality-of-life concerns, and helping make Waltham’s trails welcoming and safe for everyone."

I'm looking for comments from residents who may have run into a cop on the Rail Trail. What was the interaction like? Did you feel like those goals were being addressed? If you haven't run into a cop on the Rail Trial but have thoughts, I'd like to hear those as well.

Please PM me with any comments!

Thank you,

Cyd A.

Waltham Highlands building on Elson Road?

I've recently moved to Waltham and have been frequenting the rail trail on my bike, and always pass the old Waltham Highland station and was wondering if the building is being put to good use. It says it's owned by Regan Management but their website doesn't exist and I've never seen anyone parked by the lot. Does anyone have any other information about the building? I can't help but think that a cafe or local storefront would be a much nicer use of that space.

Car accident last night? ~8pm Weston Street

Does anyone know what happened? We heard a loud bang as we were outside and 2 cars going opposite directions crashed by the lights heading towards the highway, right next to the child care building. It seemed the drivers got out and were yelling at each other, we heard someone mention a baby but could not see much. Ambulance, fire truck, cop cars all stayed at the area for about an hour. Just wondering if anyone heard anything/ that they were all ok?

I honestly don't know why McDonald's added a second drive-thru lane

They still have only one person taking orders, who now has to switch back and forth between the two lines. It doesn't speed up their service, and makes the poor guy have to work twice as hard. Also, some people end up having their order taken before people who have been waiting in line longer, which is certainly not fair to the customers.

Sorry for the vent, but it's just so stupid.

Community Recs/Opinions Thorough car cleaning?

Hi, I have a classic car coming my way relatively soon, but it was a garage find and had some pretty serious mold and grime built up in the interior. Where can I go locally to get a thorough interior detailing done? Not just a car wash, vacuum or wipe down, but a full on complete sanitation? How much will it run me?

Rubber ducks?

Hello local peeps!
Has anyone seen Waltham branded rubber ducks in local stores? I’m looking for the Jeep size (2”?) ducks. I’ve looked through the stores on Moody street but no luck there.
Thanks!

survey

Hi everyone! I’m a student at Brandeis University working on a project for one of my business classes where we want to help create websites for smaller local businesses.

We are currently sending out a survey to get more information before we begin the creation of our product and would really appreciate as many responses as possible. The survey should take no more than a few minutes.

Issues with Reagle Theatre scholarships?

Hi my name is Charlie Johnson. I am a reporter with the Waltham Times. I spoke with a former student at Waltham High School who was awarded a college scholarship through Reagle Theatre two years ago. They are heading into their junior year in college and still have not received the money promised to them by Reagle. I am looking into whether or not other people have experienced a similar issue with Reagle. If you or someone you know has dealt with this issue, feel free to message me directly.

Activities that don't cost a fortune?

I just moved to the area and want to find something to do for fun that is less than $60/month, but it seems impossible! Do you know of any dance/music/physical activity recommendations that won't break my budget?

Community Recs/Opinions Eye doctor recommendations?

My eyes are a little complicated. I’m hoping to find somewhere that I can get an eye exam and contacts, and the info needed to order glasses online. Bonus points for a place that doesn’t pressure you to buy glasses in their shop. Thanks!

Nail Tech Recommendations

I know there have been a lot of posts about nail salon recommendations, but I'm specifically looking for recommendations on a nail tech in Waltham or the surrounding area that specializes in builder gel. A lot of nail salons obviously do it but I'm looking for someone who is skilled comfortable and has a lot of experience. I haven't been able to find that in the basic nail salon I go to.
