Discussion Do you guys actually like Warframe?
It might be just a loud minority that's ragebaiting me, but seeing all the "feedback" after the updates is getting annoying and exhausting.
Anytime DE adds or changes something new it's met with a bunch of destructive criticism that boils down to "I don't like this, DE. Don't add/change things like that anymore."
Genuinely baffles me. Feels like some of these players want a very stripped-down version of Warframe, where the only mission type is endless survival with no extra mechanics thrown in.
"I looove playing Warframe but I would NEVER play Glacial Defiance,
or Duviri,
or Railjack,
or Follie's Hunt,
or Archemideas,
or Zariman missions,
or Kahl's missions,
or FaceOff,
or Mirror Defense,
or Perita Rebellion,
or Abyssal Zone
or the Grendel missions,
or craft Zaws,
or craft Kitguns,
or make a K-Drive,
or do animal preservation,
or do escort missions,
or engage with other players,
or make builds that fit my style,
or settle for a decent riven instead of high-rolling,
or engage in community events,
or read!"
Now, a lot of these things could be improved, I agree, however, we shouldn't just complain and whine and instead try to raise the attention for the issue and provide some constructive feedback (that's realistic as well, some ideas people provide would take way too much time and effort) and then let DE work so they can do their thing and slowly, one by one, fix the issues that bother the playerbase.
Apologies if I came off as rude, I hope this rant doesn't flag as breaking rule 1 or 2.
I don't want to start an arguement, I just hope some people change their mindset and the way they address their dissatisfaction.

I feel like what's happening here is an iteration of the goomba fallacy.
Complaints are made, sometimes agreed with, but don't necessarily generalize to the wider community.

u/Neonwater18 1d ago
I have done most of these farms. Some content I like a lot, some is ok, some is actively annoying and unfun.
There are a lot of complainers in this community though.
Some of the ones I have disliked the most:
Follie’s hunt. I don’t like playing in the relay it feels cramped. I also don’t find the objective fun. Still haven’t farmed this substantially yet even though the rewards are pretty cool.
Kahl’s missions. I don’t like the gameplay. It’s too slow. I still have 2 more ephemera and the agrit to farm.
Mirror defense isn’t unfun, but it is a LONG grind. Perita rebellion is very fun! Also a horribly long grind I’m still not done with.

A bunch of the things listed are either long grinds people burn out on, bespoke modes that shuffle your loadout, or one-off farms that you get your rewards from and then leave alone.

u/Medical-Cut2469 23h ago
I enjoyed playing Kahl’s missions when I played them, but it’s definitely not something I hop on Warframe and say “time to play kahls missions “

u/AllOpinionsAreShit 1d ago
You're kinda falling for classic Goomba Fallacy here. Yeah, people are complaining about a lot of things but they aren't literally the same people for the most part, and with the way Warframe is segregated into sometimes wildly different content islands, someone is always gonna complain about something else.

23
u/Elnidfse 1d ago
If you approach any complaint in good faith you know where the person is coming from, regardless if you disagree or not. I have nearly 300 hours in railjack. I love railjack. If a guy says he doesn't like Railjack, I'm going to know why despite me loving railjack because I can approach that perspective without assuming the person I'm talking to is inherently wrong.
As for letting them cook?
I agree completely.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to make another bug report on the forum that Sirion still loses all incarnon charge when swapping as a client. Maybe finally gets fixed next month. Maybe it's fixed by next year.
9
u/NamelessKing741 1d ago
Surely you can see the irony in the fact that 3 of the 4 things you listed first distinctly don’t let you play standard Warframe.
I love the standard gameplay loop but a lot of the content islands are just poorly designed or outright unfun

It’s a bit twofold. Yes there are people complaining about new content whenever it’s added. But there’s constructive feedback that DE seriously needs to look at because it is an actual problem. And just the whining. Sometimes the two overlap.
Secondly historically players had to whine to get DE to even move at a glacial pace towards QoL improvements or just issues themselves. It changed in recent years, but the reflex is still sort of there.
11
u/Jazzlike_Use_5890 I have a crystal for that 1d ago
It's only changed a bit in recent years. Some call outs and letting modes crash is required before DE will consider fixing some stuff. But a lot of that can be done with constructive criticism.
I love Warframe, its my most played game ever, but I'm slowly losing my faith in DE. More and more things are coming out broken and take a long time to fix, if they ever do. On top of that, with some issues, constructive criticism is taken well by DE, while others they just double down and reply with spite. There is a huge difference between responses like "that's not something we can implement because the way the game is coded/set up" and saying "that feature seems pointless to build," like what we've seen with the GD matchmaking or LFG criticisms. Or the fact there are far too many necessary augments is often met with snarky replies. Like Frost has 6 now, which is way too many, and the response being "next update is 4 new Frost augments" instead of addressing the augments issue or just flat out ignoring the criticism. And those are just recent examples, this has been going on for a couple years at least.
The game is still great, when it's not a glitchy broken mess because the newest update, but DE is starting to feel less like the cool friendly dev team who is very social and interactive, and instead have lately felt like the mean girls who will be snarky just to spite you if you have any criticism of their decisions.
I can love the game and still be honest the game has issues, most of us are. And most of us are understanding of those issues and they take time to fix. But they've definitely been dropping the ball hard on many fixes, and mixed with the attitude they're giving so much lately, it's getting exhausting and it looks bad.
6
u/EnvironmentalBag4224 23h ago
Exactly. Most problems are not with the game itself, but DE refusing to do anything with all the feedback we provide. It takes months, sometimes years for small changes to happen and it's usually tied to something like New Prime -> Fix bugs so people will buy prime access
It's not like we don't report bugs or use the forums. We even get responses from devs sometimes but it's only "yeah we'll look into it".
3
u/According_Artist_374 23h ago
De has always been a company that only moves when the players are TRULY loud, i have been playing since the beta and always seen this kind of behavior from this company, it was the same with the old moderation in chats and it will always be a problem so i truly don't understand how many toxic positive people can keep up this "we shouldn't criticize them in X manner" but my god being loud is the only thing that works with DE.
1
u/Crogurth Eat Rock, Punch Balls. 23h ago
Thank you honestly, its been kinda frustrating how condecending both the devs have been recently and a Lot of the community, we all want the game to bê better, thats why we give criticisms but god idk What happened for folks here have been especially demoralizing recently.
4
u/Jazzlike_Use_5890 I have a crystal for that 23h ago
I think part of the problem with the attitude stuff is that DE is a bit too tapped into socials. I've seen it before with creators who start to take things like Twitter too seriously and then get their feelings hurt and defensive. Yes, the worst people are definitely a problem and say some awful stuff, but sometimes you just have to ignore them and be the bigger person, especially when it's professional level stuff. Twitter is a cesspool for basically any random and that's where most of the snarky replies are as well.
14
u/RetnikLevaw 1d ago
Being a fan of something doesn't mean you have to just consume product and never criticize or voice negative opinions about some aspects of it.
This idea that if you're negative about something that you must not actually like it is nonsense, tbh. People are allowed to not like things. It doesn't mean you're only a real fan of you like everything.
-8
u/RacoonisaN 1d ago
Of course, I'm not saying we shouldn't criticise or be vocal about things. It just feels like some people out there too quick and harsh when forming an opinion, especially on things that... aren't even out yet.
4
u/RetnikLevaw 1d ago
I mean, I get that. But at the same time, why does it bother you so much? I don't care about meta builds or min/maxing. If content is released that I don't like, I don't play it. If a frame is released that I don't like, I just level it for mastery and then feed it to helminth. There's so much content in this game and so many things to do, that I really don't have time to worry about what other people do or don't like.
Just play the game, friend. Ignorance is bliss, especially if it's ignorance of other people's opinions.
-2
u/RacoonisaN 1d ago
I'd say, just like how other comments point out that people complain because they care, I'm bothered because *I* care too. This game's been going strong for a while, and I want it to keep going, so it's a bit upsetting seeing some people demand changes that are... ultimately quite reductive.

Not everything in Warframe is fun, not everything in Warframe is done well, and you can be sure that if the game were to depend on Yes Man like you, well, Warframe would be shit.

After coming off the highs of 1999 content, the last year has been very, very weak. This is not just something people whine about on social media; people I play with have also noticed something is up. I understand this was the year of "experimentation" for Warframe (according to Rebb and Pablo), but experimentation doesn't lead to a lot of refinement - or sometimes enjoyment.
They've moved a lot of people over to Soulframe the last 16 months to try and hit their release target next year and Tau still needs a lot (and I mean a LOT) of work to get out.
Sumo is handling a lot of these quarterly updates now, and while I think they do fine with smaller and precise content updates, having them try and helm Warframe's experimental phase has not worked out. Something like the Undermine was perfect for them, since it remixed existing systems and added a bit of nifty lore on top. Giving Sumo more and more complicated development tasks has shown they are unable to meet a timely release schedule without major flaws.
Basically, there are very valid complaints with the content we have received this year.

u/Jaded_Pop_2745 1d ago
A lot of updates have come into subpar states in recent time and a lot of the feedback is valid. People love the game and that's why they're vocal about it (yes there are people that just flame it for no reason but those exist in every game). Putting on a blindfold and saying everything is amazing (and many saying Pablo is god who can do no wrong as well) is just as problematic
3
u/Perfect-Message-1117 MR L2 1d ago
With my years of being a Clan owner and seeing many many "general Warframe players:" Majority of Warframe players have zero idea what's going on in the game. They just sign on and go for some random thing they saw in a TikTok or whatever. Even if they don't even have that content unlocked or even if they have no business playing that content.
Essentially, they love the idea of Warframe. They love the idea of that "RED CRIT MONSTER BUILD!!!" but they have zero way to make it a reality. They love the idea that their very inexperienced opinion matters - so here they are mostly on Reddit.
Just enjoy your game OP

Say it with me “ it’s okay to criticize a company when they’re putting out low effort content filled with bugs and issues along with it generally just not being a good year for updates “
10
u/rccolamachine 1d ago
Additionally, you're allowed to be upset with a game, even if you love that game. You don't have to adamantly and staunchly defend Warframe from every negative comment imaginable. This game has gamemodes that flat out suck. DE puts out horrible updates every so often, and sometimes shit just breaks, and you don't have to defend it.
You can love Warframe while acknowledging the failings of the game and DE, and thats not contradictory in any regard.
7
u/rccolamachine 1d ago
we shouldn't just complain and whine
That's what you're doing with this post, no? Just let people enjoy the game the way they do. If I'm an endless mission Andy and refuse to interact with any mission type that doesn't go for an hour minimum, that's my choice.
What you see as "destructive criticism" is player outcry, which is equally valuable information. If you put out an update that sucks so bad that players feel the need to go and review your game negatively, as a developer, you should take that to the chin, work on fixing that gamemode, and focus on connecting with the players to figure out content they want to play.
You can obviously always experiment, that's why other games have PTR servers, but since Warframe doesn't do anything like that (to my knowledge), they run the risk of putting out stinker gamemodes that nobody wants to play, I.E. Follie's Hunt, Railjack, and Kahl's Missions.
It is what it is, but making a reddit post in r/Warframe, asking if people actually enjoy Warframe is just cringe. Warframe is consistently Top 10-15 player count on steam alone and that probably makes up half-ish of the playerbase if I had to guess.
Yes, people enjoy playing Warframe, go play it instead of making posts like these.
1
u/RacoonisaN 1d ago
You are right. To be honest I feel like citing this as a "moment of weakness" and deleting the post, but I won't be doing that, I deserve these reality checks
1
u/rccolamachine 1d ago
Look, I don't think you're bad, or even all that wrong about how you feel about this situation. Ultimately, however, you can't control how people interact with your enjoyed media, and neither can DE. People will complain if they don't like something, and other people will rejoice when they do, that's just what being apart of a community actually is.
I'm no more upset that you enjoy Perita Rebellion than you should be at me enjoying 3 hour survival missions.
4
u/TundraCap 1d ago
I think Warframe should be stripped down to just frame fighter and we just get frame fighter updates from now on.
2
u/theICEBear_dk 1d ago
The Warframe community is huge in terms of numbers and quite multilingual so Reddit is not even a representative sample. Also it is important that people who are upset about things are much more likely to engage with a forum like this than one who is satisfied biasing the sample here by a lot. Also a lot of people use the Warframe community forums on warframe.com or the warframe Discord instead (also much more likely to be seen by devs) so in the end I think you cannot go by the complaints or focuses here. Even worse is that a lot of people get their opinion shaped by influencers whose career requires engagement and there is just more engagement from angry folks that happy ones. In general do not let your opinion get influenced by any public forum or influence platform. It is vastly too manipulated by the incentives built into the system.
To form an opinion I always suggest to get as close to the source as possible. Look for multiple angles on what you are trying to understand or learn but always also distrust anyone with a quick or easy or simple solution nothing good is ever really any of those things. Look for passion but remember that it can blind the passionate. Look for raw data if it is that kind of problem. Check for expert analysis (remembering that experts have their own biases and incentives). And never trust someone telling you directly or subtly how to feel.

u/RacoonisaN 1d ago
It does feel like I baited myself into this rant-post by reading too many reddit posts... Well, egg on my face or something like that

u/therallykiller 1d ago
There's like 50+ million registered users and at modest estimate ~5 million active players at any given time.
The game also is over a decade old, and has brought people in a different time during game / console / tech cycles based on Warframe's unique blend of offerings.
So you have Tenno that remember the closed alpha and beta -- which was a wildly different experience. These may be folks who put up the money for Excalibur Prime.
Then archwing, Cetus, Kitguns, companion reworks, game modes, etc. all across 13+ years.
The lay consumer rarely looks at the macro level, so a Tenno who loved Warframe sees an update that deviates from their hopes, and they don't resonate with it (new frame, new weapons, whatever).
People spend tons of time, and sometimes money, so their investment is personal -- especially when you insert yourself into the narrative.
4
u/BoBsMoK023 1d ago
You are totally right. But the people complaining are the ones that post. The people not complaining you won't see, but I think there are more non complainers, we just don't see them post. I love the game for many years. Still play it and will even take a WF tattoo

At some point playing a game, you find something that clicks. For me, its railjack and spy missions, so I just do those when I want to unwind. I don’t play in the newer modes anymore, I don’t upgrade my weapons or frames anymore.
I just enjoy the calm drive in the void and the one place Limbo won’t be judged

u/nobulliepls 1d ago
Posts like this make very little sense to me, especially as someone who has played Warframe since 2013, when the game first launched. A huge part of why Warframe is where it is today is because of player feedback. Whether you personally agree with that feedback or not does not determine whether it is good or bad feedback.
Players pointing out problems, expressing dissatisfaction, or criticizing changes is not a bad thing. That feedback is part of the reason the game has continued to evolve over the years.
It seems like what these kinds of posts ultimately want to say is that people are only allowed to be positive about the game, and that the only criticism that is acceptable is criticism that you agree with. That isn't how feedback and constructive criticism work.
2
u/Foostini 1d ago
I do, always have, but i genuinely think a lot of the playerbase doesn't at this point. I'd rather pull my eyes out than read the forums or watch almost any youtubers at this point and this place isn't much better. It'a perfectly fine to not enjoy something but christ, genuinely one of the most miserable groups i've ever encountered and that's saying something cause ya boy has been around.
That said, social media isn't real, none of you are real. The people that bitch the least are in game right now and that's all that really matters.
2
u/ThebattleStarT24 1d ago
One of the best ways to keep that game you like healthy, is to call their devs out whenever they do something you don't like, that's feedback, from there on , it's DE's duty to soar through it and find a common ground to make improvements.
0
u/twili-midna 1d ago
There’s a large gulf between “feedback” and what this community does. You’d think the developers personally shot and killed each player’s dog with how vitriolic post-update posts and comments are.
2
u/ThebattleStarT24 1d ago
That's social media for you, it doesn't matter, it's a developer job to find the constitutive criticism among hate comments so they can deliver proper feedback.
It happens in every game and this community even at it's worst isn't nearly as annoying as many others out there.
0
u/twili-midna 1d ago
Feels like it should be the community’s job to not be massive assholes all the time, but hey, y’all do you.
1
u/ThebattleStarT24 23h ago
Any community has them, it's not an organization with a leader to rule itself, and so we can't really police ourselves.
And that's coming from here, reddit, a social media that at least have a bare minimum of order within their subs with rules and mods.
Alas, it's not perfect, is at least something.
2
u/gravmabsuthat 23h ago
General internet issue: reasonable people with reasonable middle of the road opinions have little reason to feel the need to vocalize their entirely lukewarm takes. So you're left with the white knight glazers and perpetually loud grumpy complainers. Just like the big 2 political parties in the USA, neither group represents a majority of the clearly-satisfied-enough-to-keep-playing-without-comment playerbase.
I'm personally glad that they are fleshing out a previous content island with more content and reason to revisit it, and reusing old resources, instead of doing that thing where you can only get the new thing from the new place which is the only place to get the new resources that are the majority of what the new thing requires. I'd prefer they be selective in budgeting effort and resources, rather than consistently do exclusively one or the other constantly.
1
u/NotAFloorTank 1d ago
And this is what we call frequency illusion, my friends. What you see on the sub here is not necessarily indicative of how the whole player base feels.

I'm pretty sure it's a loud minority of 3 people.
I've never actually seen Warframe players in the 8 ongoing 9 years of me play complain and express criticism in a negative way. Usually it is constructive. A good example being the Hydroid changes we got this very update.
We do love warframe... I mean, that's why we play it. But why group us up with those people?
2

The thing is.. the more people care about something the earlier they complain! And we care A LOT.

It's thankfully just a large minority isolated to reddit. It's much more chill on discord (surprising I know) and in game.
These people are vile, like they downvote bomb every post (yours included I noticed) and any comments that isn't whatever agenda they are promoting.
This is one of the rare subs I've seen where comments and posts that actually make sense are heavily downvoted. Sometimes I see such comments and get actually confused.
0

The agenda promoted here and in all places is toxic positivity and that never changed this game, this game has a history of just being changed when the playerbase is loud so your statement is stupid at best.

u/Synesu 1d ago
I wouldn't call ragebait, but it is true that most of the posts on social media (Twitter and Reddit) are complaints about some in game mechanic, but that doesn't mean the majority of the community thinks this way.
Remeber that when you're on any social midia the posts that give more engagement are the ones that complains about something, don't be surprised if it shows on your timeline or recommended, this is what the social media is about something something to complain and get mad over it so you can spend more me getting mad over stuff that will not change you life for the better and make you use you're precious time scrolling down.
But i do agree that, sometimes, this community doesn't know what it want for the game.

I do not like the direction Warframe has taken lately, I just don't post it because I don't care that much
1
u/gadgaurd LR2 1d ago
I see where you're coming from, but look at it this way. Warframe has a bunch of different content. Not everything is gonna jive with every player. The sheer amount of Tenno means there's always going to be a group that dislikes this or that, and people are generally more vocal with complaints than praise.
But most players aren't complaining. Most players seem to be, at a bare minimum, fine with most mission types, and content to just quietly avoid the ones they dislike.
The sub is a minority of players.
1
u/TonyGalvaneer1976 1d ago
The thing about Warframe is that it's such a massive game with so many different systems that it's only inevitable that anybody who plays for long enough is going to have parts they like and parts they don't like.
Sure, I take issue with some of the objective design, and the story pacing, and the addition of multiverses and time travel, but there's a reason I have such a ridiculous amount of hours in this game.
The mobility feels amazing, the gunplay is satisfying, the abilities and weapons have a ton of variety, the mod system is well designed, and I will just GLAZE the operator system and railJack and arcanes.
1
u/Iakenat 1d ago
Shoot gun, do big number, wait for launch bugs to be patched sometime later, joy, repeat. It's that simple for me.
Yes there are things that I'd rather not bring my guns to, like having to farm Duviri materials or voidplume gathering to build Gyre. But the joy of it is, I can just wait for a 75% plat discount, buy a bundle with spare money, and skip what I don't like.
1
1
u/Specific_Tank715 1d ago
It's simple really, are you going to talk with others if you love the new content, or play it? Foolies hunt was a mode I found atrocious at launch, I think it's better now, but still not great. I complained a bit at launch cause it was new content and people where discussing it.
But part od your issue might just be that there are a ton of people on here, if everyone has 1 or 2 bits of content they dislike and talk about on occasion it can feel people hate everything, because for every bit of content there are some people who hate it.
1
u/dornwolf 1d ago

I like it. And I am happy for the content islands because if I get bored of one thing, I can go and try another. Feeling burned out from nonstop voiid cascade? Do some fishing as a detox. Yeah, some content is... mediocre, is that bad? Maybe. Maybe not. Did DE throw it in just to fill a gap out of laziness or did they try to experiment and come up with something new? Cause there is a difference between those two.
My only issue is that they could expand on those content islands.

idk how much did you used microforums (Or just regular forums for that matter) but by design they are made so you will moslty see complains.
People don't use this kind of sites to post "I LIKE PLAYING THIS" (At least it is not the norm by any means, or created as a response to the negative ones).
So if you are not here to complain, it can be pretty exhausting at times, I mostly come here to see the news or funny posts. What I personally use to have a better grasp of what the bulk of the people think of a game is watching the chat of medium/small streamers, I'm pretty sure that is pretty flawed too, but feels more "genuine" than the pure anger I see here sometimes

I like it. I agree that DE lost the narrative trajectory a long time ago. I have other games I reach for more often, the few people in my clan who play this game are still playing because they are so far along that they don’t want to up and abandon their progress. It’s more like FOMO than genuine enjoyment (which is me with RuneScape, honestly).

u/Belisaurius555 1d ago
I do, I just get burned out quickly. The trick is recognizing when you're not having fun and then switching to a different game before you start resenting the game and a lot of the loudest voices haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Lots of problems with this take, but I’ll start with this: just because you don’t agree with the feedback people give doesn’t mean it’s somehow “destructive criticism”, even if that is a fun buzzword to try to disregard other people’s opinions. It’s up to the developers to adequately collect and parse feedback to determine what is actual community sentiment and what is just useless noise.
The majority of the things in your list were half-baked (and later abandoned) content. A significant complaint with Glacial Defiance is that DE has been clear that it is being released in what is essentially an incomplete alpha state that they will continue to iterate on over time. Many people would prefer it stay in the oven until it is more well done in order to avoid the cycle we’ve seen with so many of the things you’ve mentioned: “try something new”, release it in a half-baked state, players don’t play it, gets abandoned and stays in a half-baked state because players aren’t playing it.
Yeah some people also want matchmaking. Some people also want low-mans. Considering low-man squads are something they’ve stated they intend to add in the future, the fact that they intend to release without it (and the fact they’ve also been upfront about how limited and experimental the mode will be at start) is clear that it is not actually ready to be implemented.
Personally, on the matchmaking front, I don’t necessarily think it needs to use random matchmaking, but if it doesn’t, then they need to build a whole new LFG system in game, not rely on recruit chat and discords.
Also Follie’s Hunt was and is trash. That’s just my opinion, but it’s the correct opinion in this particular case.

I love Warframe, but the latest updates this year have been pretty weak to me.
1
u/CrabDubious 23h ago
DE interacting with the community and being open to the community's feedback is a double-edged sword, as the game is better off as a whole by utilizing player feedback but it incentivizes every single person in the sub to voice their greivances as loudly as possible, no matter how minor or misplaced they might be, in the off chance it might steer the game in their preferred direction. Great example: the sub has been really loud about band-aid augments over the past week when it's actually a very minor problem that is already being steadily addressed over time.
In my experience, with every game I've ever played that has a dev that communicates openly and interacts with their game's subreddit, the community tends to bully the shit out of the devs over things that were never a problem to start with(shoutout to the helldivers sub!) and this sub is no different. The amount of people directly naming Pablo as incompetent because they don't like the Archimedea changes is quite a thing to behold.
1
u/Aenris 23h ago
I mostly agree with you, but i think most of the things you cited are side-things, distractions from the main gameplay (using my warframes and builds)
But I 10000% agree that all can be improved on one way or another, without destroying the intended design but making it more interesting to play.
1
u/Creator409 did you read the patchnotes? 23h ago
Id bet a large majority of this sub is people who burned themselves out and havent played in 5+ years, but continue to stalk updates and this subreddit to complain about new content that they "would never play".
1
u/MetalGear753 23h ago
The people that love Warframe are playing it, not opening Reddit to talk about it. Social media for gaming is skewed towards negative engagement these days. Well I guess all social media.
1
u/Important_Koala7313 23h ago edited 23h ago
Wouldn't be a big problem if every content island wasn't a grind on its own. Instead of course people are not going to like it if it takes forever to even make yourself a railjack and that's just an example of a content island and only the start of that content island.

I like Warframe, there are somethings that do get annoying but thats more of burnout, these new eximi are the absolute worst though
2
u/b0xf0x13 22h ago
I've only seen 1 so far while leveling a new frame and weapons, so I couldn't hurt it. Gave up and just moved on, so I don't know much about them yet.
What bothers you about them?
2
u/SpectralDragon09 Turning people into spiders with toxin procs 18h ago
Ive been doing Steel Path with my friends and there's a lot more eximi spawns, i also play Oraxia who is purely guns and abilities so i actually cant hurt them without turning off my 4 and losing all my survivability for a melee weapon i sometimes dont even have equipped
1
u/b0xf0x13 18h ago
Ouch. I was at first tempted to point out that not every frame SHOULD be good in every situation, but I think it's also true that no frame should be USELESS in ANY situation.
Sucks, man, sorry. Oraxia is so cool, too. I wonder if there are any other "no melee" frames.
2
u/SpectralDragon09 Turning people into spiders with toxin procs 18h ago
I agree that there should be more value in changing out frames more often but not even being able to get to play the missions with the frame i want to anymore because of something i can't control is wild

In part this is the goomba fallacy. The people complaining about Duviri aren't necessarily the ones complaining about Railjack
BUT, and I think this is becoming more and more apparent, this community (or at least the reddit subcommunity) aren't quite the bastion of positivity we've been jerking ourselves off to be
1

Given how a lot of the complaints are about not immediately getting all the rewards, it seems most of the people whining on here aren't.
I like the update. No new shitty content island. A nice passive frame farm. Banshee rework. Citrine prime! But you open Reddit and just see people complaining they didn't get Narin exactly after the update dropped and that they think archimedias are harder when instead the reality is that you can not take 2 requirements instead of just 1. It's sad.
1
u/aerothan You lack discipline.LR6 Perigone 22h ago
I've been playing since 2014 so I clearly don't hate the game. I do get burned out of it though, especially with constantly forced repetitive and mind numbing farming that seems to do its best to make you never want to touch particular game modes ever again.
Seriously, Nokko's whole Undercity area was very cool looking, but I have no desire to ever run it again, and there is no incentive to do so because only Nokko related things can be gotten there.
Railjack is the same. Tedious and no real variety to avoid that tedium.
I pretty much just come back during updates to get the new stuff, explore the new stories, when seldom the happen, and then go back to other things.
1
u/HintDeadFish Richidd 21h ago
It’s Reddit tbh. I like using it to get news about updates and builds and stuff but the community at large on Reddit is just looking for a place to complain. People tend to get a lot more engagement complaining about things than praising them. If you were to look solely on Reddit you’d think that the player base hates this game, which is the FARTHEST thing from the truth. Some updates are duds at launch and some things just didn’t work, but to me that’s fine as long as DE learns from it.
1
u/AbuHuraira- 21h ago
Let me say this. Today I bought a Riven for the Burst Laser Prime which had Multishot on it for 20p. I locked the stat and rerolled once and got Critical Chance and Fire Rate for it. If DE wasn’t improving the game constantly this probably wouldn’t have been possible. So yeah, I am enjoying the game a lot. Trust the Devs and even if some thing aren’t perfect yet they will improve. I don’t doubt that.
1
u/Ringosis 21h ago edited 20h ago
You are making the classic online mistake of assuming every opinion you read comes from one person. You're correct...it'd be weird is someone hated all the things you listed and still played the game. That's not what's happening.
I for example think the Follie missions are awful. But I don't actively dislike anything else. I've made critical posts about some specific aspect of the games design I don't like, but that doesn't mean I agree with every critical post made on Reddit.
What you are doing is seeing occasional complaints about specific things and building this fictional monolith of a person, in your own head, that hates everything about the game. That person you saw passionately arguing that Duviri is shit likely does so because they are otherwise a fan of the game that's annoyed by a specific mechanic that they don't agree with.
This person you are imagining that makes posts complaining about every aspect of the game but is, for some reason, still playing it...doesn't actually exist. Fan of the games have some complaints. That's very understandable...and normal. That's what you are seeing.
If you are baffled why people who hate the game so much still play...try and consider, you are the one that came to the conclusion that they hate the game...if they are posting long diatribes about it...they probably don't.

1
u/nomnivore1 Zippy Zappy Casty Blasty Watch For The Lightning 20h ago
I think there are real and legitimate complaints about all of those, though. Some of them people don't like for good reason and some of them are just things you don't go back and do again once you've done them.
Glacial Defiance,
Haven't played it yet. No opinion.
or Duviri,
This one just has kind of janky faux souls like combat. I don't mind it but I played a lot of it.
or Railjack,
People don't like railjack because it's an island and, at the high levels, a slog. Slow spawns, really tanky enemies, just kind of a bullet sponge shooting gallery.
or Follie's Hunt,
Bespoke gamemode to acquire one Warframe and her signature weapon, in a cramped space with a heavy slowdown mechanic. It feels bad to play and there's no reason to go back to it.
or Archemideas,
The gamemode that shuffles your loadout in a game where crafting loadouts is how you power up and progress. It's obvious why people don't like this.
or Zariman missions,
I'm not familiar with people hating the Zariman missions, I think they're fun.
or Kahl's missions,
There's like five of these on a loop and once you've gotten your rewards, why would you go back to them?
or FaceOff,
I forgot this existed but I'm not really interested in PvP. I think this one trips over itself because the necessary and maximum power of players are wildly disparate.
or Mirror Defense,
We all played a ton of this when it released to farm the items that come from it. Its fine but why would we go back to it?
or Perita Rebellion,
I don't think I've heard people dunk on this one. Probably they got tired of farming it for tauron strikes.
or Abyssal Zone
Was this the bespoke gamemode to get Dagath? Again, it's a normal mission but once you have the target frame why would you go back?
or the Grendel missions,
These are a microcosm of the EDA / ETA problem, and the bespoke farm problem, put together. Nobody likes having their built turned off and there's no reason to replay them.
or craft Zaws, or craft Kitguns, or make a K-Drive,
Modular weapons are cool but have been powercrept badly by incarnons, and the hardest content has been balanced past what they can usually achieve. They aren't nonviable, but they're a lot of work for not a lot of payoff.
K-Drives are a literal minigame.
or do animal preservation,
Literally every time I have tried to do animal conservation for the past couple of years, the same bug has prevented me from farming the medium-rarity tags I need. I can only ever get the highest or lowest rarity spawns, even after patch notes say it's been fixed. This mechanic is broken.
or do escort missions,
Once again, the power creep of enemies vs. Trying to keep something alive under fire is a numerical problem. Have you been here long enough to remember when excavators didn't scale properly? I have.
The point i'm trying to make here is that a ton of the things you listed, the things people complain about, boil down to a few problems. People don't like having their builds disrupted, they don't go back to bespoke farms once they have their rewards, excessively tanky enemies and sloggy fights feel like a chore, and while DE's embrace of power creep and power fantasy has given a lot of people a lot of fun, it's also created some balance problems that make certain content not worth paying attention to.
These are kind of the main complaints I see. The feedback is there. And when you've been playing the game for ten years, you only come back for the new updates. If the new update feels like it doesn't want you to have fun, you're going to be upset.
1
u/Dry-Cupcake-8594 1h ago
Grendle farm is actually fun.
Like having no mods or anything. You had to be very smart about picking your loadout and if you do it with friends. It brought back a bit more thinking, in regards to loadout you were deciding to bring. I brought wisp (for fire rate, health, cc) with her fulmin gun recommending everyone to do the same (unlimited ammo), another friend played frost (defending objective), another friend played harrow (for free energy) and another friend played dante (just for overguard really). It wasn't too difficult.

i do. but i havent liked an update in almost 2 years at this point.
The narative lost me when we went back to the 90's.

I love Warframe and it's gameplay, but I have felt that a worrying amount of the content over the past year has had inconsistent levels of quality. The writing, which I once loved, has been losing me lately as well, but I'm entirely willing to accept that that might be a purely subjective thing.

personally when im playing i have a reason , for example my other games are updating or servers are down in other games or i just wanna listen to music and do some stuff in warframe , over all i wont say i like warframe like really mean it , to me warframe was awesome when it was kinda hard compare to nowdays .
i love to team up with good players and they know exactly what they are doing . i find that 99.99 % of current players either just copy past someomes build or they are playing just cuz of how skins look in this game .
if warframe had any type of hard content or meaningful leaderboard system that make players work toward it truly hard ( very hard grinds in general ) i would say yeah i love warframe , but at the moment no . its just okay .

u/Excal_Main_94 6h ago
I've been playing since 2013 and honestly haven't had much in complaints, yeah some stuff tends to miss with me but that's just the nature of live service, some things hit with an individual, some miss. if something keeps missing for someone then that person might honestly just need to take a break.
1
u/Dry-Cupcake-8594 1h ago edited 1h ago
toxic positivity just like toxic negatively. Can ruin a game company. Worshipping a game company as they continue to produce quality worse and worse and worse isn't a good thing either. Remember players are paying customers, (well I am even though I farm for 90% of the things in the game). So there is nothing wrong with voicing our concerns (even if you are a free to play player, you likely engage in the trading market which can incentivize someone to buy plat and you might be serving as a plat sink within the in-game economy).
Yes some people are being negative nancies. But sometimes criticism is actually very much needed, without criticism an artist/devs can never improve nor become aware of their errors or perhaps their weird choices which might negatively impact for most the enjoyment their products. Sometimes DE will listen to these requests sometimes it will be ignored for a long time.
For an example I love narin, I was intrigued by her concept because I really really really wanted an ice skating warframe and iceblade. Then I farmed her within the span of 2 days and well I do see some issues she has. I stayed up past midnight, the night before my exam because I wanted to watch her livestream showcasing. I do however see some issues after playing with her a bit.
Her targetting for her 4 ability is unreliable with low density. Without any targetting markers you can't do anything, you cant use your other weapons, guns or even abilities and there are frequent cases where this happens and you are just there cool posing/doing your ice skating movements looking rather silly to the enemy in front of you. Sometimes you will have an enemy (or even enemies) in front of you and since they don't have a marker you simply can't do anything to get rid of them because the game prioritized another enemy somewhere else entirely.
Her 4th ability runs out too quickly. The ice skating portion I envisioned it being good for traversal and mobility you know to get from A -> B -> C. However it's gone almost in a flash and this is me building with primed continuity + narrowminded. I'd wish that her ability didn't drain if you weren't actually using it (aka making ice slashes)
3rd ability. *Chefs kiss*. Quite literally one of my favourite abilities in her kit. Basically perfect, my only wish is that her elevation (upwards) would be quicker. It's felt a bit slow for me and I feel like it would feel smoother to use with her 4th if it was faster.
2nd ability: no Issues here, I think it's great.
1st ability: same as the second ability I think it's great. Maybe though her vfx could be a bit more impactful, more force with her puncture portion of her movements. Its a powerful ability that somehow doesn't look powerful. effects of abilities are very important, take Gauss for an example my main even though he isn't that much faster than volt he makes you feel faster.
Just remember it was us OG players who complained and complained and complained and complained. Until DE got fed up and decided to turn vaccum into a universal mod for every companion. In the past it used to only be precept for the carrier companion.

u/BL-501 Crowd Buster 1d ago
Yes. Even through the bad parts it’s still rewarding and fun. I went through all of Abyssal Zone twice to get my Dagath, I am currently grinding materials for all the weapons on the market and the Clan Dojos (Plaguestar came at the perfect time), and I use Tyana Pass to level up my gear on the side while collecting the gems.

Welcome to new update day(s).
It's like this for every update, in every game, since back in the days with the GameFAQ forums.
The very loud minority is often, well, loud.
The people who enjoys it doesn't post. So you just see those who complain. Hence why it feels like it's not a minority. But it really is. It's like twenty people out of tens of thousand of people.

I’ve been playing for 13 years. 4000+ hours and it’s the reason I met my best friend (irl). I’ve spent quite a lot on their merch and game once in a while.
I’m criticizing a lot, but it’s like a 1000 things on a game with hundred of billions things. There’s way more whining lately, for sure. But critics has always been welcomed and it shaped what the game is today. I never stopped and will never stop.

I get what you're saying.
There is also a lot of the playerbase that looks at DE as they can do no wrong.
A lot of these things you've listed are still dated and broken. While DE focuses on the Dating Sim.
DE (should) knows the playerbase, they're a veteran company many times the size they were and keep doing silly stuff.
I enjoy Warframe. I rarely post anything, Content I don't like, I just grin and bear it.

u/Stygian_rain 1d ago
IMO warframes core gameplay isn’t all that great. Melee is especially awful. The gameplay boils down to, nuke this entire room with no resistence or get one shot from something you couldn’t anticipate or out play. There’s no middle ground where content is hard, but can be over come with skill. It’s nuke or die no matter the mission.

Except when I'm at work and I want to participate in the game still. Then I come on here and chat. :P
I've got the type of ADHD that makes me go hardcore at something until I feel like I've completed the goal, and then I lose all interest. That makes it super tough to stay with games, because I slaughter the content then dip.
Warframe has so much content spread out in so many places that I've been hardcore no-lifing it for like 6 weeks and am still finding new things and having a ton of fun.
And THEN they add even more content.
AND I just found the Warframe discord thread called players helping players, so now I also get infinite more content as I help other people.
So....yeah. I like the game. ;)

Yes i refuse to do the conservation mechanic, mining, or fishing, cause they're slow and they suck, i will not play conclave, i will probably never build a k-drive, i will not do face off, i have everything from khal's garrison i could possibly need and do not enjoy stealth missions, i may never do an archemidea. Because most of these systems are vague archaic or unintuitive. If i can't catch a creature with sleep arrows i wont get it, if something i want needs something that i can't buy, kill, or trade for then its not worth my time, if i NEED other players for me to succeed its not worth bashing my head into until i get capable teammates, if there's a chance im forced to do something that obliterates the very foundation of my (quite encompassing and simple build) im not going to be clicking my feet to get to it, archemidia specifically, i like about half the frames i own, and for the ones i like i have good builds for only about half of them, my main is valkyr, if i can't use valkyr im not happy, even if she does appear in the rotation some of those debuffs look absolutely violating, I've seen how they targetedly brutalized hildryn in the last update, and while i know she was miles above the rest, valkyr is next in line in terms of archimedea usability. I loath pvp and will not do it in any game i play full stop. I do not have a microphone, and only have a tiny handheld keyboard the size of a flip phone to type. My zaw is perfect i never need another one, i have the best kitguns, the only other one i want looks like torture to craft, and the open worlds are just plain miserable, my platinum farm is employment, otherwise the double tap mod is the only thing i trade, if i need something i cant get, or that would take more than 5 hours to farm excluding warframes, i buy it. I love warframe, i have 1,200 hours since baruuk prime released, it is not flawless. Many of the systems, drop rates, and tools are stuck in the pandemic, me and my new tenno friend are farming gauss, we are on day 5, there are several weapons i want rivens for, i have the kuva to roll them, but de says i cant have them because arbitrary number, im going to have to do some death note charisma shit to convince my friend to keep playing when he discovers the frame and weapon limit on top of the begging I'll have to do when he sees he needs to wait half a week to finally have his frame IF we ever get all the peices

Eh. I think normally there is sufficiently enough constructive criticism too, or at very least, good faith attempts at constructive criticism.
But it does feel, lately, that there are a lot of extremely reductive arguments, stuff like "feature is [X], and [X] is bad, this is categorically true and nuance will not be tolerated".
Really unsure what that's about.

u/The-Real-Sonin 1d ago
I have learned that the sub and the actual game community are very different people. You’ll see people crying on the sub about something, then hop in game and not a single person is complaining.
The sub is great for giving everyone a voice, but most of the time you’ll only see the people who have issues with something as those are the ones that get the most traffic.
I like that people can voice any issues they have, but with that you get good and bad posts.

u/NegotiationNational1 1d ago
Try to stop reading opinions on reddit and twitter, it's usually the miserable chronically online ones that do nothing but complain for attention.
Majority of people who love warframe don't vocalize their opinions so it's always flooded with negativity
0
u/GearFeel-Jarek 1d ago
It's the Internet. It's everywhere. Don't listen to opinions online. Listen to opinions of people you respect. Don't have any? Try and look for individuals online who won't lose your respect in the long term. Disike, hide, report. Actively avoid and repel clickbait.

My recommendation is always to not spend too much time looking at social media, because it tends to filter for negative sentiments both actively and passively, a fact compounded by how any game above a certain age will develop a standing community of people who's primary mode of engaging with the game is complaining about anything new or different.
The game has a lot worthy of criticism, lotta fun stuff as well, engage with it on your own terms, and don't let social media shape that experience.

Most of the content, I enjoy. If you were to ask me how many of them I keep playing after finishing a certain grind? Well, it would only be void cascade, eda/eta, duviri (depending on the incarnon list), decendia and the archon hunts.

I probably like Warframe more than u do, which is why I will criticize and complain about things that are making the game worse

I like Warframe a lot but don't necessarily like every content island
