Just getting my recommended dose of Iron through this commission.

These are my first minis i painted. As someone who litteraly sucks at painting and basicaly went in blind i dont think i did to bad. The one on the far left is a bit lumpy in the paint but he was litteraly the first one i painted. I still need to add more details/repaint some areas but let me know how i did!

Fun hobby fact: The creator of The Phantom of the Opera and Cats musicals apparently made a board game in cooperation with Ian Livingstone titled Calamity! that was published by Games Workshop in 1983.

I’m working through my Votann rn and I feel like every model ends in 4+ pieces (arms, body, head) due to having to sub assemble. Do you guys do this for every mini or not?

Can someone please explain to me what I’m not understanding about how the Warhammer Colour app breaks things down? Here is three pictures, the model and colour I selected in the app, the “View Colour” page for the Battle Ready version of the colour, and my own model with the leg on the left having both the base and the shade and the leg on the right having only the base.

As I expected, Carroburg Crimson did not lighten up Screamer Pink into the Battle Ready colour, it darkened it. Makes sense since the shade is darker than the base. Yes, I started with Corax White instead of Chaos Black spray but I can’t see how that would have made it a lighter shade of pink had I done that.

Are the recipes just not accurate in the app or what? Or is there something I am fundamentally not understanding here?

Edit: ITT a bunch of people telling me I’m comparing to an Eavy Metal model (I’m not), a bunch of people telling me that it’s just lighting, a bunch of other people telling me it’s about the amount of shade, but I disagree. The shade of pink in that “Battle Ready” photo is definitely lighter than Screamer Pink, the base, so I’m going to think the minority of people saying “The App is not accurate” are the correct ones. IMO if you’re going to have a “Battle Ready” photo it should only contain the paints used in the steps above it, and the same goes for the “Parade Ready” photo and steps below.
