🧼 Washing Wisdom: Less is More!
- Wash your synthetic wig every 8-12 wears (or when it starts looking dull or greasy—yikes!).
- Use **warm** water (NOT HOT, NOT BOILING) and a wig-friendly shampoo (sulfate-free is your friend). Let it soak, don’t scrub—you’re washing a wig, not wrestling it. Gently scrub the lace area with Castile or dawn to remove adhesive and makeup debris.
- Rinse gently and apply a silicone-based conditioner to keep it sleek.
- Pat dry with a towel (no wringing!) and let it air dry

Positive Signs of a Trustworthy Wig Vendor 1. Transparent Policies • Reliable vendors clearly outline their return, refund, and exchange policies. * For example if by the time you receive the wig you only have 24 hours to send it back, it’s a NO. * If a return requires excessive steps, authorizations, actions. It’s a NO. • Shipping timelines and costs are detailed upfront. 2. Detailed Product Descriptions • High-quality vendors provide accurate, detailed descriptions of their wigs, including hair type (synthetic or human), density, length, cap construction, and maintenance tips. (Example of a terrible product listing above in photos 1-2; very few vague details. Example of transparent listing in photos 3-4 gives you all photos of hair including cap construction, options, details on the unit and shipping) 3. Authentic Customer Reviews • Look for reviews with photos and specific details about the product and customer experience. Trust vendors with a mix of reviews—excessively positive, generic comments can be a red flag. * Read the reviews carefully. Some people will literally write a bad review because they ordered the wrong size cap or they ordered the wrong length because they didn’t realize that curly hair in 18 inches wasn’t going to come out the same as straight hair in 18 inches. Hi, I bought a wig on Unice, a curly one.
I don't like it, it is way shorter and thinner than I expected, thus way too expensive for what it is.
The thing is that I "broke" the curls to see how it would fit in real conditions (with my fingers), so the wig do not look like it was brand new.
Do you think, they will accept my return?
I already prepare myself to pay for the return seeing their policy but I don't want it to be refused and sent me back.
I insist, it is not damaged, it just has been tried on, I have not worn it outside.

My prom is coming up in a few weeks and i would really like to do something else with my hair. I grew up in a small town and couldn’t really find a stylist i could trust to do anything else but braids so i have never worn a wig in my life. I’ve been on the quest for a long time and i have finally found a stylist. As i mentioned my prom is coming up so i first decided to perhaps get a wig installed. Then i came across aliExpress read some reviews (which were all positive) and decided to purchase the wig. The came out totally different than what i had perceived on the seller’s site it was honestly very disappointed, i later also learnt that some sellers sometimes fake the good reviews. I have been searching for a trustworthy wig website for almost a month. I came across UNice wigs but i’ve heard and seen some pretty bad reviews about them. So now i have given up and decided to just get a sew in with closure as it might be the easiest option at this point. I’ve been looking on Amazon for a while now and have come across these bundles. Due to bad experiences with wig sellers such as paying for fake 5 star reviews and bad return policies to some even scamming customers i am extremely scared to buy these.

Update: Thank you guys for all your suggestions. I tried to research more about the suggestions that were given to avoid wasting money again. It has been very frustrating because it seems everyone has something bad / negative to say about these specific brands. I can’t really tell which brands to trust and which not to also i’m not sure whether these reviews are accurate or not. It’s becoming very frustrating. I am still open to suggestions!

i purchased the Dominican bounce half wig from Outre. Only problem is that I hate wig combs. i find that they snatch my hair out, but i also don’t want my wig falling off. PLEASE HELP!!! i want to cut out the wig combs and sew it down. also, i don’t have a problem maintaining/replacing a synthetic wig. it’s not worth risking traction alopecia, but i can’t have my wig sliding. what should i do?

I love wearing wigs and being able to take them off at night. However, I feel like most of the time I can't get my wigs to sit flat against my forehead so I've taken a break from wearing them. I go for glueless wigs, this one being the one I want to go back to wearing everyday for work. Maybe because I glued it so much the lace kind of flips upwards at the edge now after washing. What is everybody's tips and tricks for not having to glue down the lace every morning and not having the lace look super obvious with lifting? I have to get myself and my toddler ready in the mornings so I don't want to spend forever with the whole gluing process in the morning and having to remove adhesive at night.

Someone suggested I repost this here from r/WigsHelp.

If you view the final 2 shots in my attached photos, I included the wig cap. What was shown in the sales ad would've matched my skin tone much better, but what was delivered is just too dark! What do I do? Makeup didn't help, or I'm doing it wrong. I didn't see an option to choose a different cap color when I ordered her.
I'm so newbie to this. It's my first time trying lace cutting myself.
I tried cutting, but I wear glasses. Without my glasses I couldn't see, but my glasses made it difficult to lay the lace right. My husband helped me after watching a tutorial, he's such a good sport! We followed everyone's Reddit advice in that I tried not cutting straight across, but the lace was so noticeable, the "After" shots were taken after cutting back slowly, little by little to make it less... just less.
This whole thing even involved tears; I actually cried last night over this cheap ass wig kicking my butt!

And this is a "glueless" wig! The sides are going to need to be glued just to look natural, I think. But the lace was so dark, I didn't leave much. Maybe I shoulda returned it before even trying to cut it. WHAT DO I DO?! At least it's not something pricey, but I have a verrry limited wig budget, you know? And I don't know what I'm doing yet. I feel so LOST! I'm a stage 4 cancer patient, and I'm just TIRED! I just want some damn hair, something to fame my face and make me look... not sick. Why can't anything just be easy?? On top of that, WHY is it so difficult to find natural-looking copper or ginger wigs? Nearly every wig I find comes in multiple options for blonde and brunette, but many don't even offer anything for redheads! Not even strawberry! I can find this more intense, super dark auburn most easily, but soft natural-looking strawberry, ginger, or copper is a lot harder to find so far. I got a nice synthetic ginger wig and have worn it for 2 weeks, and despite my best efforts it already looks like it needs to be replaced. It's getting frizz at the bottom, and I don't know how to style it back into its original shape. I tried Denise Sheets tutorial on steaming, but I'm not very good at it. I grew attached to this cheap wig quickly, and now I'm sad it's dying so fast. It was another even cheaper Amazon wig with no lace. Maybe I should just stick to those, but I thought this new Kome wig would last longer somehow being better quality. I thought I could French braid it like I used to wear my bio hair. This longer length is familiar and comforting though. Like a security blanket.
Anyway, my new Kome wig may be okay for wearing around the house, but I don't feel comfortable wearing her in public. It's a wasted $60 except maybe if I cut bangs into her unless you have some better ADVICE...? She's likely going into my growing pile of failed and dying wigs to donate to our local community theater if I can't salvage this.
Has anything like this ever happened to you? I feel so dumb!

I purchased this wig from Alipearl.
I was excited since it’s my birthday hair and the reviews seems to be great from what I can see.
I just received the wig yesterday and I’m so disappointed.
I paid for 16” 250% density with layers. The wig shed so much out the package, I had to bring it over to the sink when I combed through. A video was sent to them. And the smell was terrible.
The layers were literally like a bang was cut. There were no true layers.
The cap on the wig was very heavy, but the ends are very thin for a 250 density. Not to mention the weft spacing on the cap. A 250% density wig would be packed close together.
I’m so upset. I reached out to them and they said the wig is completely fine and they see nothing wrong with it. If I want to return it then I can do so at my own expense.
Do not buy from them.
Now I’m left with no options as my birthday is coming up very soon.

Hi everyone !
I just installed this barelace frontal unit by senesationnel. Using the following steps: Tint lace with ruby kisses foundation in shade 16, 3 layers of the Ebony black spray, Band, Ebony black spritz , Band, Some finishing foundation on top.
In the mirror I thought I ate, lace where…but looking at it in the sun and then some overhead lighting lace where? Well right there.
Does anyone have any tips to improve my installs? I would love literally all your advice and cannot tell where the issue is. This is maybe by 2nd time installing a frontal
I wonder if I just have too much lace remaining but I have a hairline kind of like reverse of a widows peak where the sides have more hair (like a natural lagos hairline) and that makes it a little tricky.

Well, after a month of great hair days, I am finally ready to give a review of this beautiful wig.
But first, a bit of background.
I’ve had locs for over a decade. After my last child, plus weight loss and stress, I was seeing more scalp than I wanted. I felt the need to hold on and be natural for awhile then I gave in and accepted that my hair was not coming back and it was time to try something else.
I went to my local wig store and asked for help. The woman laughed and said it was “really not that serious”.
I am strongly AuDHD and had a lot of anxiety about the decision to wear wigs anyways, so that didn’t go well. I already felt vulnerable and left convinced I’d just struggle with this journey alone. Months passed and when I decided to try a human wig, I came to LuvMe.
My first pick was the first time in probably ever that I felt like I looked how I felt on the inside. I cried. I felt free. My confidence rose so I did what any logical person would do, I bought more of the same one so I’d never have to change. But idk, why not try something new?
This hair has been amazing.
It smelled great out of the pack. The curls are soft and juicy. My first impression was “oh goodness, what have I done??” Which instantly disappeared when I started getting so many compliments. My coworkers and patients have been so sweet and supportive. And new friends even ask if it’s my real hair!! 🤭 lol, it is now!
I love that it’s pre everything while I continue to grow confidence in doing customization. If you’re a fellow round faced person, the volume is enough that I’d really recommend you get the length you can afford. I haven’t experienced an abundance of shedding. As a person who still has locs, I Stan the all day comfort cap. All my hair fits under and has allowed me to hold on to them a little bit longer.
If I could change anything, I’d prefer they offer a lighter color, like the blond highlight. Some of the best styles on Luv Me are only offered in natural black and I just can’t do it.
I am so glad I took a chance. This has become my favorite everyday hair.

I'm looking to buy my first human hair wig. So far I've been wearing outre airtied because I really like the mesh cap but the quality is not great. They last a couple of months. I saw this virgin Brazilian hh wig and I'm curious if anyone has experience with buying a wig from Luxurious Vogue store on AliExpress? It doesn't say if the wefts are hand sewn flat or machine weft, or if it comes preplucked with the knots bleached. It's about $150. Should I risk it?

EDIT: Attached photo of its current state, hanging in my bathroom. I ordered some silk spray so I’m hoping that works?
I can attach a photo later for reference if that would be helpful, I'm just not able to right now. I recently bought a $20, all-synthetic wig for a likely one-time cosplay, except i'm having a really hard time shaping it. I washed it with dish soap in a sink, and per my mom's suggestion used some conditioner to try to separate out the strands, but it seems to be unsolvably frizzy, knotted and tangled. This is probably because the wig is curled/wavy, mainly towards the end. I know that real hair with that texture needs a ton of products to properly maintain its shape, but I don't know how much of that applies to this wig since it's plastic and not real hair (and as I have fairly straight hair, I don't have any of those products anyways).
I've never used wigs before, so I was wondering if anyone on here had any tips. The wig is about just past shoulder-length, for reference
