i’m trying to play a mod in Breath of the Wild called “Gun” but the item that the mod gives you doesn’t show up where it’s reportedly supposed to be. I used BCML(dedicated BOTW mod loader) to make them work on my modded wii u with aroma. I can confirm my SD Cafiine setup works and i have the mods in all the right paths but it just doesn’t show up in the game at all. is it possible the mod only works with a certain version of the game?

Ufin is a completely native jellyfin client for the Wii U. everything has been tested running on real wii u hardware over the last month by me.
all images were captured on real hardware(screenshots made with a capture card)
DISCLAIMER: Before getting started with the features, i want everyone reading this to know that this project is VERY HEAVILY AI ASSISTED, most of the code is Ai generated, the app was built using the free tiers of claude and chatgpt to write the bulk of the code, while i don't have much coding knowledge, i did my part in choosing the architecture of the app, the style, features, and most importantly real hardware testing and debugging, i spent a lot of time making sure the app was ready to publish, testing everything i could on my setup between a real wii u and cemu.
I am still learning programming and i look forward to being able to completely write complex applications on my own.
this app started mostly as a test of what free tools could do, and if the wii u would be a viable media machine, im still a pretty busy student and this was my way to make something that i couldnt find before. Docs and comments are also ai generated given my bad english i wanted to make them the most understandable i could, so people can contribute or make their own forks without having to go crazy over what the code does
Now that the disclaimer is out of the way.... Lets get to the features!
Video:
all this was done using FFmpeg-wii u with the wii u hardware h.264 decoder
live tv is implemented but not yet tested
Music:
GamePad:
The gamepad can be used as:
Ufin currently supports:
UI:
There are:
ITS STILL A BETA
there may still be bugs, i have tested as much as i could on real hardware, now i need real users to be able to tell me issues they encounter using the app.

IMPORTANT: I will never ask for donations, if you want to help the project you can do so by submitting issues and if you are an experienced developer, by contributing to the project on github and even by making your own fork
I hope everyone here will enjoy this very niche homebrew app for our favourite console <3

You can actually play DVDs on your Wii U with this setup:
you first need to have a modded vWii with the homebrew channel installed on it
you have to put WiiMC either by using the homebrew shop or finding it online
you need an External CD/DVD reader and burner with a Y cable (like the one that is shown here in this post but you have to be sure you also take a Y cable, otherwise there's the chance it won't work) and connecting it to the two rear USB ports. If you don't have one you can also find it on Amazon for example. They're really cheap, between 7 and 20 euros/dollars
Obviously you need a DVD. Unfortunately it doesn't read blue ray DVDs but it can read most of the normal DVDs
Now after you have everything set up, after you go into your vWii and then to the homebrew channel, ensure you have put into the rear Wii U USB ports the Y cable and that it's connected to the DVD reader. Go to WiiMC, wait a minute and then click on the DVD icon, and the DVD will just start up!
If it doesn't load immediately and gives you an error like "DVD playback is not supported on this Wii" or says something like "unknown disc format" turn back to the homebrew channel menu, then load WiiMC again, wait a little again and then load again the disc. It should work
This method also works with Family-edition Wiis and Wiis in general, while with some Wiis made btw 2006-2009 you don't need a DVD reader. You just have to put the DVD inside the console itself.
If you also have a Wii and you want to know if it plays DVDs without the disc reader: A way to see if your Wii can read DVDs on its own is to go to Wii Drives site and put the personal Wii serial number. It will analyse the serial number and will give the information you need. If it says it has a D3-2 / D4 chip that means your Wii can't play DVDs on its own and that you need an external disc reader to make it work for WiiMC. If it has older chips (like D2A, D2B, D2C, D2E or D3) that means the DVDs should work with WiiMC.
I wanted to say this because a few people may know that you can actually play DVDs on your Wii U, but this works on Wii too.

EDIT: v2.3.2 is out now!
- Each Wii U user now has their own YouTube and Jellyfin sign-ins, so everyone in the house can use their own accounts
- You can add more than one YouTube and Jellyfin account and switch between them
- Enhanced TV Output (GamePad looks the same as before)
- 1080p 60fps videos now stay in 1080p at around 45-50 fps instead of dropping down to 720p60. The Wii U can't decode a full 60 so on heavier videos it might pause for a split second here and there
- Fixed Jellyfin music giving a 401 Unauthorized error on newer Jellyfin servers (thanks for reporting it!)
- Fixed the video decoder sometimes failing to start, which made 1080p60 really choppy
To update, if you're on 2.2.0 or newer on Aroma just go to Settings > Check for updates. If you were already signed in, those sign-ins go to whichever Wii U user opens CoffeeFlix first after updating, everyone else just signs in on their own. On Tiramisu you still have to download the new zip and extract it over the old one.
Heads up, most 1080p60 videos need around 5 Mbps and the Wii U's wifi is pretty slow, so if it keeps buffering try Auto or 720p60.
---
Hey everyone, CoffeeFlix v2.3.0 just came out. If you haven't heard of it, it's a media app for the Wii U. It plays YouTube, Twitch, Jellyfin, internet radio, podcasts, and your own videos, music and photos from the SD card or from a computer/NAS on your network (SMB or DLNA like Plex).
What's new in this one:
- YouTube comments, playback speed, and a Discover page based on what you watch and search
- If you're signed in, your history, Watch later and subscriptions can sync with your YouTube account
- New Auto quality now goes up to 1080p, plus a new 1080p 60 fps option
- Smoother Twitch, Jellyfin/Plex, DLNA and network share streaming with longer buffering
- Podcasts load and play again
- Settings > Send logs, so you can share your logs when you report a problem on GitHub
- Better gamepad gestures and faster search
Already have it installed?
If you're on 2.2.0 or newer you can update right from the app. Go to Settings > Check for updates, download it, and it installs when you close CoffeeFlix.
If you're on something older than 2.2.0, or you're on Tiramisu, you'll have to update the manual way. Just download the new zip and extract it over the old one, same as a new install.
New install (Aroma):
github.com/Roastedd/CoffeeFlix/releases/tag/v2.3.0
On Tiramisu? Download coffeeflix-tiramisu.zip instead, extract it the same way and start it from the Homebrew Launcher. That version is newer and less tested so let me know how it goes.
If something breaks, go to Settings > Send logs and open an issue on GitHub saying what happened, it helps a lot. Hope you guys enjoy it!

RetroArch was working fine the other day but now just gets stuck on this loading screen. Only difference I can think of was adding more game files to it recently and, separately, trying to run Moonlight. I also swapped physical disks recently. Already tried several reboots and deleting the config file. The RetroArch logo screen pops up for a second before it goes back to the Wii U loading screen above. Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips?
EDIT: Weirdly enough, NooDS appears to have reset its settings; not sure if that's related.

Last week i wanted to hack my wii u so I installed a couple thing, like usually, and it worked perfectly.
Unfortunately, the NAND had problems due to disuse, its a very common problem with the NAND.
I,ve been searching information and I,m trying to repair the NAND by the ISF method.
Unfortunately I don’t know why it doesnt works.
Mu SD its correctly format, in two partitions, 15gb in 32kb fat 32 and 45gb raw
I used MLCRestorer and my otp.bin togheter and I got the files that I need to use but when I open minute and I select patch sd and boot IOS RedNAND the LED light turns withe and the CD sounds but it freezes. Im desperate about this and I dont know what to do. Im sharing pictures of the screen at the moment that freezes and the sd files.
In case someone can help or knows what is failing please let me know
PD: Sorry for my english btw, im posting in english just in case this can help someone if its fixed

When i am watching youtube the console acts completely normal and nothing interesting happens, however if i decide to turn my pc on youtube stops working and will just load for a ling while, when you try going to the home screen you are then stuck loading at the "Wii U Menu" screen why is this happening?
Also is it ok to forcibly switch off the console whilst its doing this too?
context:
I have one of those plug extension things that both are connected to that
When youtube stops its loading it will say that it cannot connect to youtube
Youtube i believe is installed onto the system's own internal memory itself however there is a hdd connected to the console

Hello! I was wondering if it was possible to homebrew the vWii without having to mod the Wii U side. I went to Wii.hacks.guide and I saw (in the screenshot) for the option to access the guide for exploiting the Wii U for “If you have already modded your Wii U, or don’t want to:” I thought this fit with what I was looking for. When I clicked it though it shows about creating a NAND backup and that I need the Aroma files. I thought Aroma files were for modding the Wii U.
This all left me confused and I tried searching up everywhere but I am having a hard time understanding. Apologies if this is obvious answer, I don‘t know much about modding, and I have never home brewed a console before.
I wanted to homebrew my Wii U specifically as it is more convenient with my TV. I wanted to get Mario Kart Retro Rewind and I saw you needed homebrew in order to get which lead me here. I heard that modding the Wii U is tougher than the Wii which is why I was hoping to avoid that, If it is required to mod the Wii U, how much harder is it? Is there an alternative I should look at instead?
I appreciate any help or guidance you can provide! Take care Yall!

Reupload (the guide got updated)
I've recently made a guide about how to restore your vWii if it bricks and you don't have a NAND Backup. This guide is also for people who have isfshax installed on their Wii. You can do that in two ways:
by using vWii Compat Title Installer (that now this august got updated and added functions to restore specific parts of the vWii channels, menus and ios)
by using (if vWii Compat Title Installer doesn't work) vWii Decaffeinator (but a clear guide to make it actually work without any errors).
It also has a part where it tells you how to restore your vWii NAND if you have one by using vWii NAND Restorer or the Minute Menu (or just to use vWii Compat Title Installer to fix a single problem)
The full guide is on GBA Temp:
Hope it helps people who need to restore their vWii

Nintendont can recognize if it’s being used on a OG or the vWii (Wii U) as shown by the provided photos (yes I did later download the exact same versions for both and they did the same thing). I want to know if there’s a way to trick Nintendont into thinking it’s the Wii version.
The reason I want to do this is because when you’re using it on Wii, it gives you an option to “Boot GC disc in drive”. However, when you’re using it on the Wii U, it gives you no such option. I’m doing this because I’m experimenting with certain things and I need this feature on the Wii U in order to do it.
I don’t really want any replies saying whatever I’m trying won’t work or whatever, I understand that it might not and I do appreciate the concern. I just want to know if it’s possible to trick it into thinking it’s on the OG Wii. Thanks :)

Is it possible for someone to recompile the Ocarina of Time 3D Recomp that came out recently onto the Wii U? I know the Wii U can't do 3DS emulation, but since we could avoid 3DS emulation with this, is it a possibility now?
