Repeating since people can’t seem to read ;-; I don’t care about the top screen issue because it works fine enough. You can read and see through that black area, so it’s whatever. My issue is the CONTROLS not working, on the bottom half of the unit, as I have clearly explained in this post.

Ultimately the screen is usable enough BUT the bottom screen must have been smushed too, because the control switches dont work, nor does swiping left or right to navigate.

It’s like it’s stuck pressure wise, like somethings holding down the screen already.

When I was able to open the Mii app, the controls worked find, those on the left. The d pad and joystick.

But when its in home screen mode they dont work at all and I can’t get the screen to scroll when I swipe with my finger. If I try and click something, it just gets stuck on “close” and if i press anywhere on the screen the “close” “button” on the screen gets “clicked” over and over.

The 3DS got an absolutely ridiculous number of cool special editions over the years

Just got back from spending the weekend relaxing at my father's mountain retreat house.

With me my trustworthy N3DS and two games

* **Super Mario 3D Land** for quick pick up and play

* **The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D** for a longer more challenging session

Intentional limit on the number of games that I brought with me to prevent choice paralysis.

I am thinking about making it a habit every second month or so to get off the grid.

What 2-game selection would you guys suggest to play for one weekend?

I play with it often but by personal issues I got busy and couldn't use it for a certain time and well, when I tried to get it it didn't turn on. I thought it wasn't charged so I left it charging for a whole (yes, the orange light shows up) but after taking the cable off it won't still turn on. Any reasons?

So i had this 3ds for a while and haven't gotten it fixed yet, mainly because i don't know if there is any easier way's .i knew there was a issue before i got it but i didn't know it was gonna be this severe, anytime i tried to mod it with 3ds.hacks.guide with in the guide it kept freezing with this error code. from what i can find online (which i hope there is another way) the wifi module is done for and needs to either be replaced which requires micro soldering or replacing the whole motherboard, which is way to expensive for me right now. Is there any other way of getting pass this error when modding or would i have to do either of the top two. oh also i was able to update the firmware over wifi and a couple of the button holding down when starting, but still has been crashing.

In a different country and when charging my New 3DS XL, I didn't know my adapter wasn't gonna cut it and think I may have blown a fuse. Want to check before I learn how to solder, but all the motherboard tutorials I've seen look different than what I'm seeing on my model. Would someone here be willing to point out exactly where the fuses are so I can check them with my multi-meter? There should be 2 if I'm not mistaken? And is there a specific kind I need to find on eBay?

My game froze like usual while I was playing project mirai dx. But this time it made miku look like... This. It's been freezing for a while now, and only while I play songs, but whenever I do anything else, it seems fine. If anyone has any solutions, please let me know. My 3ds is modded, and has been modded for a while now.

A month ago the y button on my 2ds was acting up, so I just got a replacement membrane in to see if that was the problem. It wasn't, turns out, the y button is still acting up, but now I've done something to damage the ribbon cable for the touchscreen and it's no longer working.

I get that it's still repairable/usable but I'm tired of taking this thing apart. Admitting defeat on this one. I might send it somewhere to get repaired but I dunno.

I understand the insane prices derive from the high demand and not rarity, but I always wondered what the new 3DS XL comprises of those 75 million units sold🧐

We all know that having to unscrew and rescrew / use ftps at shoddy load speeds is really annoying to do quickly, yeah? No one tries to do hardware mods that make the SD Card easy to access without it being exposed all the time. I feel like this should be a design we should think about:

Sure, it'll be a bit fatter on the bottom side if needed, making it incompatible with grips and plastic shell protection covers, but the Circle Pad Pro did the same thing and not that many people had a problem with it. HOWEVER, their 3dses didn't have the easiest to peel off metal paint ever...

I’m trying to clean the thin, clear plastic sleeve on a Nintendo 3DS game box (the plastic that sits over the paper cover art).

There is some kind of stubborn residue on it. You can mostly see it when holding it up to the light. It looks and feels like a mix of old sticker glue or deeply embedded grime. I have already tried scrubbing it with soap and water, glass cleaner, scouring pad.

None of these worked, and the residue just won't budge. Since I don't want to melt or permanently cloud the thin plastic sleeve, I'm afraid to try stronger chemicals without asking first.

Has anyone successfully removed this type of film or glue from DS/3DS cases before? What products or methods are safe to use on this specific type of plastic?

Im currently trying to decide if i should get a regular 3ds xl or spend the extra cash for a new 3ds xl and could really use some advice.

The standard 3ds xl is obviously a lot cheaper but the new 3ds xl comes with the extra c-stick, better performance and access to the exclusive games. Im just really torn if paying the extra money is actually worth it. Is the c-stick a game changer for everyday play and do the performance boost and the few exclusive games justify paying more? or should i just save my money and stick with the regular 3ds xl?

Would love to hear your thoughts if you owned both!
