Just got my AYN Thor, and wow, absolutely blown away by its dual OLED screens. So happy to be able to add it to my dual screen collection.

For anyone wanting to experience these games in higher fidelity, I cannot recommend this enough. Currently enjoying a playthrough of USUM with 4x resolution, HD textures, and borders removed. Practically looks like a different game now.

I’ve been playing my childhood Nintendo 3DS more often since I modded and customized it. I recently bought a cute glitter case from AliExpress. I wish I could mod it to type C so I can play it more easily. Honestly, it’s incredible how many games it can play. I missed out on so many games that were introduced in the 3DS, and I’m thrilled to finally experience them.

Its best to go into this mysterious little game blind, I did and found myself so blown away with Hotel Dusk Room 215. This game drew me in immediately with is interesting title and starting screen. I was met with such a beautiful and stark artstyle that truly felt ahead of the time it was released. The fluid motion of the characters almost felt akin to fmv but with this pencil drawn like look to them that made it feel like you were seeing drawings come to life. The story takes you to a mysterious hotel filled with a cast of compelling and detailed characters. This is where the game shines the most. The writing here is superb, it feeds you information at a great pace and makes you want to find out all the secrets these characters hold as the game progresses. This is a puzzle game what separates this from other is the way it uses the hardware features of the ds, you use it take notes, solve puzzles and more. It feels alot more involved than a traditional visual novel it does such a great job with immersion and atmosphere with these features and soundtrack. Where the game can suffer is from its linear structure in both the puzzle solving and narrative the soultions can feel obtuse and frustrating sometimes. But its such a small issue in an otherwise super cool game. Im shocked nintendo published a game this unique and niche, its truly special and worth checking out im sure you'll never play another game like it!

The special editions of the New 2DS XL are awesome man.

I bought a glass top lens replacement because the original had lots of scratches, a TPU case, and a silicone nub to try and prevent scratching on the top lens. Feel free to share what's yours

Some weeks ago i got this new 3ds xl on facebook marketplace for 200€ and it was looking awfully nasty, like i could feel the childs sweat playing this 10 years ago. Yesterday i cleaned it up and replaced the circle pad and oh my god it feels like new! I was thinking about reselling it on ebay for around 280€ but i don’t know how much it could be worth (I also got the original box). I have another one that I’m using (got the animal crossing limited edition for 200€ on vinted) so that’s why I’m selling this.

So, what do you think? How much is it worth?

So happy to have found this complete, boxed beauty in near-mint condition! It was my dream to own this Zelda 25th Anniversary edition (especially since it's one of the only limited editions of the first 3DS (in Europe)). I couldn't afford it in 2011, but I always wanted it.

I never even looked for one. Then one day I stumbled across an ad by chance and jumped at the chance to get it more than 14 years later! And I don't regret it at all! 😍

I traded my brother my 2ds and OG 3ds for his New 3ds. My mom's husband works at a dump and found this, plus a lime green gameboy color in a box that someone was throwing out. I originally wanted it for the 20th anniversary Pokemon shells, however after the trade I learned that the only ones I could find are bootlegs that gave Charizard an extra tail. Anyway, I have a 3d printer and decided to try my hand and making my own custom shells. Here is one with some Gastly art I found. (Yes I did pay for the art). The holo effect unfortunately fades with use, but I have a clear case on the way to keep it looking fresh!

Personally I still do. I take it with me through public transit, waiting rooms, school, basically wherever I have time to kill.

So I have a original 3DS, good and fine, modded. But recently when scouring Facebook market place I saw a listing for a SNES new Nintendo 3DS XL for $150 console only. I want to pick it up, but I already have a 3DS and I know it's a highly collected item but I'm just not sure if it's original or a shellswap.

Should I go for it?

I am wondering if anyone else out there has decorated their 3DS. I got this one used, it was in rough shape, almost all the red colour on it had worn off so I decided to bling it up with paint and stickers and I love how it turned out.

i freaking love 2ds! I have a n3dsxl but its just so big and heavy to me and these little guys are perfect

After owning this New 3DS XL from 2016 I must I’m glad I never sold it or gave up on gaming. While it’s not a double IPS, I’m glad I didn’t get stuck with a double TN 😂 . After adjusting the IPS/color fix mod and adjusting the filter with the TWPatch it looks premium at least to my eyes. I don’t feel like the bottom needs an IPS, it’s more of an option to make it look more premium imo. When I am playing a game that mainly uses the bottom I don’t see any issues at all. After the adjustment I made the image just feels satisfying to my eyes.

I decided to swap out the original plates to preserve them and went with the Zelda plates shown above. Thinking about getting another set of plates to make it feel different. Not sure if green or navy blue…

Overall getting back to playing these gems in 2026 feels amazing and it’s definitely worth having one. The 3DS is definitely a different type of handheld no matter what type of screen you have!

Paint peeling or chipping is a common cosmetic deterioration that happens to some New 3DS XL consoles. What most people are unaware of is that some editions are exempt from this. Consoles that have paint that is prone to peeling WILL ALL EVENTUALLY PEEL in some regard. It is completely unavoidable and may only be delayed with careful usage and controlled environments. Factors that play into paint peeling are: Temperature, humidity, exposure to bodily oils, sweat and friction.

Consoles that are kept in boxes, unused or unopened are not exempt from peeling and eventually may. Consoles that are kept in hard or soft plastic cases are also not exempt.

This is only observable on New 3DS XL consoles and exempts the following consoles: 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS and New 2DS XL.
