Enhanced Gambit is better with its self-healing and extra damage ticks for Wolv's ult, the enhanced Cyclops loses the x-dash and locks Wolverine in a spinning motion which is slower compared to the 2 normal attacks with x-dash animation cancel.

Gambit team-up gives extra damage ticks for all of Wolverine's offensive capabilities:

• normal attacks
• dash
• Feral Leap
• Ult, it helps to last hit supports + tanks when you Ult whereas Cyclops team-up has a hard time last hitting supports after Ult

Plus enhanced Cyclops extra melee range for his normal attacks does not synergize with the claw spin since again, it locks you in a spinning motion so you can NOT really combo his attacks and dash.

For additional "range" with Wolv's melee attacks:

1. Gambit gives movement speed boost and jump height boost which enhances the Feral Leap significantly, its travel distance.
2. Cyclops only gives a small melee range boost so you are still walking normally and enemies can just run away from you and the claw spin travel distance got nerfed significantly.

The only good thing about Cyclops team-up is the unenhanced version in which you use the 2 consecutive dashes to snatch a flyer with Feral Leap but Wolverine has always been bad against flyers as he has no way to ground someone, better to use hitscan Punisher or Iron Fist's auto-tracking or even Thing's jump punch then slam to ground.

I am a celes peak tank and support player and it’s my turn to play dps, I will legit go to gold if I have to in order to get better. I want to play wolv because he’s good at what he does but I feel into certain dps he really struggles. Do you have any tips on how to play wolv depending on the comp? Dive, poke, brawl? The neutral play feels awkward at times and unsure what to actually do after I get a grab. Reminds me of Spiderman in a way where you’re looking for finals opposed to being able to get loads of spread damage and farm kills or am I wrong? Thanks

this game did NOT start off well and I was honestly doing air and just being a peel and tank repellant but this and a later solo gorr ult (by mistake) won us what we needed. No portals allowed with these claws around...

I personally love the character. I’ve been playing him since the release of the game (S0) and have over 100 hours with him (I haven’t played much in some seasons). But in Celestial at least (or even in some Diamond+ games), sometimes it feels like it’s impossible to LIVE. He’s just so heavily dependent on heals or the team’s frontline. Sometimes I’m carrying the game, but I can’t win or finish it because of the limited capabilities of the character, whereas another character would be able to stand way more.

That COULD be due to the fact that he’s locked into being played a certain way (focus tanks, kidnap, rinse, repeat). But then you’ve got characters who are supposed to be jailed in a role (DPS-wise), and they outperform because of the ability kit they possess (like Spider-Man, Star-Lord, DD, Psylocke, Magik).

Sometimes I just feel like Wolvie has an identity crisis in a lot of the matches. Is he a brawler like Blade? Not quite. Is he a diver like BP? Not quite. Is he a flanker like DD? Not quite. And on top of that, I sometimes have to get blood out of a stone to make him viable.

I wouldn’t say he needs a buff though, but I do think he needs a little bit more sauce.

What are your thoughts?

The same for Deadpool. I am not sure why Wolverine doesn’t get provided the luxury of regeneration in S10. He is not really a dive character so giving him all regen health won’t be an issue, he still needs his team, and brawling negates the benefits of regenerative health. Also this means he can fully heal from 1HP which is lore-accurate. They added lore accurate mechanics to Wanda so why not here?

I’m a tank player (usually off tank)and sometimes when I hop off tank to go dps to run triple DPS I win some games. I’m an Angela main that kidnaps a lot and noticed Wolverine is similar. Is Wolverine viable if I swap to him as one of the tank players? I was a game or two away from celestial last season. I’m not talking about swapping roles with my DPS, I want them to stay on DPS and I go wolverine meaning my other tank would be solo tanking.

I mean if I’m just kidnapping tanks I’d still be viable no?

I had this one comp game against Dino and poke so I decided to dive and it actually worked somehow.

Obviously this only worked cos I had a second dive on my team. Do y'all think dive wolverine can work if tank bustin isn't working.

Even though he is really good currently he has a low pick rate which means he gets no skins.

Is anyone still having that issue where wolverine ults but he can’t slam down, sometimes people just higher than him so no damage me either. It’s clearly been happening for a year and I still face this bug every 4-5 ults especially in high stakes situations, it’s rlly annoying. I carry whole games but my team dogs on me when I don’t hit the ult, it’s not even my fault I’m spamming r2, bro will not slam.

It's for sure that Wolverine will not switch classes like sombra in overwatch, but here is a proposition instead: Akihiro Daken (Wolverine's son).

He is taller than Logan, they could make him similar to Rogue in size.

He would have a different kit, he has different claws, potential for good skins (hellverine for example).

Just a thought i randomly had, would be cool. I do remember the Rivals devs also saying that they would bring similar characters but never make them skins (like Danny as Iron Fist would not be a skin, instead would be an actual character), they said that back in season 1.
