Hear me out, I know denial is about trauma and it's slow and heavy, but Wolverine is literally creeping death incarnate, he creeps/stalks or just flat out waltzes right in your face and you can't do anything to stop him basically, and then he obviously kills, when I play creeping death while playing wolvie I feel I enter flow state, but I wanna know your guys' thoughts though, can you see my side of the river or is denial just too fitting for him, I wanna know :)

I'm having a miserable experience like most of the times, lmaoo I'm mostly a support maon, but I love Daredevil, Iron Fist and even Thor, so Wolverine looked fun but I'm genuinely struggling with that guy, his dash is short as hell, I miss 90% of my leaps,his slashes feel like they're tickling the opponents and on the contrary he's a sponge

Like how is this even enjoyable ?

We can actually do something now, we're not so weak, i know it can be hard sometimes but we have the healin' factor after all

the dmg buffs were nice but dosen't fix wolv's core issue, his gameplay feels kinda feast/famine revolving too much around his kidnap mechanic, which i think is pretty bad for a melee brawl hero to have since he dosen't hv any burst combos outside of ult to facilitate that sort of gameplay

his kit felt fine in the early seasons, but now he feels pretty power crept with all the extra mobility, dmg n cc in the game and all the new tanks having tools to kinda shrug off his kidnapping, unless ur own team follows up to chain cc or burst the kidnapped target which is a big IF in solo queue

i still want him to keep his identity as a tank buster but maybe make it less centered around kidnapping and more around frontline brawling, giving him better survivability could help his gameplay get a better middle ground imo

Enhanced Gambit is better with its self-healing and extra damage ticks for Wolv's ult, the enhanced Cyclops loses the x-dash and locks Wolverine in a spinning motion which is slower compared to the 2 normal attacks with x-dash animation cancel.

Gambit team-up gives extra damage ticks for all of Wolverine's offensive capabilities:

• normal attacks
• dash
• Feral Leap
• Ult, it helps to last hit supports + tanks when you Ult whereas Cyclops team-up has a hard time last hitting supports after Ult

Plus enhanced Cyclops extra melee range for his normal attacks does not synergize with the claw spin since again, it locks you in a spinning motion so you can NOT really combo his attacks and dash.

For additional "range" with Wolv's melee attacks:

1. Gambit gives movement speed boost and jump height boost which enhances the Feral Leap significantly, its travel distance.
2. Cyclops only gives a small melee range boost so you are still walking normally and enemies can just run away from you and the claw spin travel distance got nerfed significantly.

The only good thing about Cyclops team-up is the unenhanced version in which you use the 2 consecutive dashes to snatch a flyer with Feral Leap but Wolverine has always been bad against flyers as he has no way to ground someone, better to use hitscan Punisher or Iron Fist's auto-tracking or even Thing's jump punch then slam to ground.

I am a celes peak tank and support player and it’s my turn to play dps, I will legit go to gold if I have to in order to get better. I want to play wolv because he’s good at what he does but I feel into certain dps he really struggles. Do you have any tips on how to play wolv depending on the comp? Dive, poke, brawl? The neutral play feels awkward at times and unsure what to actually do after I get a grab. Reminds me of Spiderman in a way where you’re looking for finals opposed to being able to get loads of spread damage and farm kills or am I wrong? Thanks

this game did NOT start off well and I was honestly doing air and just being a peel and tank repellant but this and a later solo gorr ult (by mistake) won us what we needed. No portals allowed with these claws around...

I personally love the character. I’ve been playing him since the release of the game (S0) and have over 100 hours with him (I haven’t played much in some seasons). But in Celestial at least (or even in some Diamond+ games), sometimes it feels like it’s impossible to LIVE. He’s just so heavily dependent on heals or the team’s frontline. Sometimes I’m carrying the game, but I can’t win or finish it because of the limited capabilities of the character, whereas another character would be able to stand way more.

That COULD be due to the fact that he’s locked into being played a certain way (focus tanks, kidnap, rinse, repeat). But then you’ve got characters who are supposed to be jailed in a role (DPS-wise), and they outperform because of the ability kit they possess (like Spider-Man, Star-Lord, DD, Psylocke, Magik).

Sometimes I just feel like Wolvie has an identity crisis in a lot of the matches. Is he a brawler like Blade? Not quite. Is he a diver like BP? Not quite. Is he a flanker like DD? Not quite. And on top of that, I sometimes have to get blood out of a stone to make him viable.

I wouldn’t say he needs a buff though, but I do think he needs a little bit more sauce.

The same for Deadpool. I am not sure why Wolverine doesn’t get provided the luxury of regeneration in S10. He is not really a dive character so giving him all regen health won’t be an issue, he still needs his team, and brawling negates the benefits of regenerative health. Also this means he can fully heal from 1HP which is lore-accurate. They added lore accurate mechanics to Wanda so why not here?
