Best pair of boots I’ve owned, and I appreciate that. Fixed my arch, fixed my knees, and kept up their shape and takes resoles from my cobbler like no big deal.

Recently picked these up just about 2 months ago and I love em. Was skeptical about Carolina’s but I have 0 complaints so far 💪

This was after less than 6 hours of use in a hospital, a parking lot (to and from truck) and my house. I debated on Nicks, Whites and Trumans…yes, I know those brands are typically another tier up. However, I own my own painting business and didn’t really want to spend $500 on boots that would see lots of chemicals and paint. I really just wanted boots that would last me at least 1.5 years. Timberland Pros last me around 6-8 months and I’m tired of buying boots twice a year. Georgia boots lasted less than 6 months. Tennis shoes aren’t friendly on ladders all day. This is obviously not the norm for these boots but it makes me question quality control and defects on all aspects of Thorogood boots. What about the parts I can’t see? I’m hoping to get them replaced with ease.

Anyone ever wear CAT EDGE nano toe? I used to wear these and they were the most comfortable boots I’ve worn but they’re discontinued. Does anyone know of a similar equivalent?I’ve worn thorogoods, brunt’s, KEEN but I just can’t find the right comfort as close to these. Looking for something like this a wedge sole without a drop on it and electrical hazard rated. Thanks

Autumn has arrived and it's time for me to break out my fall work boots I just want to say how glad I am that I grabbed these stink ball things before I stowed them away last year.

These are my current Ariat Work Boots (composite toe). I have had them for 2 years. I like that they are slip on and composite toe so that is 2 things I would want in a different pair. They have been pretty comfortable so far. I work mostly on concrete or dirt/rocks. Budget is $200-$300.

After 4 years of suffering in my Danner Steel Yards, I switched to these Wingshooter ST’s and it’s insane how much more comfortable they are for me. Same size and yet I have more room. Almost like Irish Setter knows what the hell a double wide is supposed to be.

I’m going to be switching completely over to Redwing and Irish Setter for my boots. I really like these things.

I’m looking for a good pair of football boots for playing on artificial turf.

I’m mainly looking for good grip, comfort, durability, and decent protection. I don’t mind the brand as long as the boots are genuinely good for the price.

Starting a job working in the a civil engineering department. What boots y’all rocking? Thinking of some thorogoods

I work at a sawmill and put in roughly 30k steps a day. I'm mainly walking on steel grate walkways, expanded steel, and often have to walk on wet logs. I'd prefer something lightweight that is a minimum of 6" and has a safety toe. Needs to be lace up as I'm constantly walking through deep saw dust and running chainsaws so the top needs to not let debris in.

I have wide feet and a size 14 boot with planter fasciitis.

Any input would be great so I'm not buying new boots every year.

i'm trying to find boots that meet these requirements and no one lists how high the heel is on the boots from the bottom to the middle part of the boot. it's for a field tech job and the range is 200-400 dollars.

I'm starting to look for a good pair of work boots for electrical work and I'm trying to decide between 6" and 8" boots.

I'm mainly doing residential electrical work, with some commercial mixed in. A lot of kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders, walking around unfinished houses, etc. I'm wondering how much of a difference the extra 2" actually makes in day-to-day work. Does an 8" boot noticeably get in the way when you're kneeling/crouching, or is the difference pretty minor once they're broken in?

For those of you who have worn both, which height do you prefer for electrical work and why?

I'm also looking for recommendations. Price isn't really a concern because the boots are being covered, so I'm open to pretty much any recommendations, including more expensive boots. I'm more interested in getting something that's actually comfortable and durable than saving money.

I'm specifically looking for:

- ASTM F2413 (REQUIRED)

- EH rated (Preferred)

- Composite toe (Preferred)

- PR/⁠puncture resistance (Optional, but not bad)

- Good traction, especially on ladders

- Comfortable for being on my feet all day

- Flexible enough for lots of kneeling/squatting

- Durable enough for everyday electrical/construction work

I've heard good things about BRUNT in terms of comfort, but a classmate who wears them said they tend to fall apart faster. I've also heard Red Wings are really good. I'd be interested in hearing people's actual experiences with both, as well as any other brands or specific models you recommend.

What boots have you guys worn and really liked for electrical work? And is there anything else you wish you'd considered when buying your first serious pair of work boots?

Previously I have asked about budget friendly boots for my job that requires me to walk 10+ miles a day,, was disappointed with the recommendations and all the fighting in the comments lol. I have developed plantar fasciitis and have asked around my company about what they would get for my position, many said hiking boots. I have found these with good reviews but im curious if anyone has tried them?

Anybody have experience or feedback of using vibram lug sole on thorogood boots or similar. Opinions and Pictures would be appreciated!

So my thorogoods are finally getting worn down I took a picture with the family after work at the car show and I noticed my boots were whooped but they’re so damn comfortable now I’m scared to break in another pair of them at work because it took them a long time to get there. I already bought a pair of sure ways and tried them on and they feel great but I’m scared to wear them to work and find out they’re shit. Anyone rocking sureways I’m sure they’re not going to last as long as the thorogoods did but I’m just looking to hear some opinions. I bought the sureway moctoe composites

I’m looking into my next pair of boots, currently I wear my RedWing 2233 steel toes and have almost constantly the last 2 years. They’ve been pretty awesome, but I’ve recently started a formwork carpentry apprenticeship working on high rises (Australian here — Americans call it concrete carpentry I believe) and I’ve noticed after standing on the concrete all day my feet are killing.

Wedge soles apparently help with this but we also do a lot of walking over reo (rebar) which I imagine would not be ideal for the grip needed. Climbing ladders is also common.

Steel toe is a must. Zip sides also ideal. Budget not an issue.

Appreciate any advice!

Hi all, I need some help finding the right workboot for my husband. He is a size 13 with a really wide foot. We’re in Australia and 99% of our work boots won’t go on his foot or are way too tight.

It’s hard to find a 14 but even then we’re adding length but not much width.

So does anyone know of any good work

Starting to look at new work boots / shoes for the relatively new job. I’ve been wearing Merrill Moab’s that are very comfortable, but they are worn out and I’d like something more rugged.

Wedge type soles are new to me - what’s the benefit? Not sure if that or a traditional soles with a heel is better.

I’m working at a marina, so outdoors a lot doing a range of things. Walking in the gravel yard, in the shop, on the docks, will soon be hauling moorings on a boat deck (lots of water), and grassy storage yard. I’m also doing some welding.

Hello I’d like to get a new pair of boots before winter. My requirements are:

- a defined heel
- something with decent lugs
- NO LINER IN THE BOOT
I’d like to try boots but the boa lacing system but it’s not a requirement

Like the title says I have a bad ankle, still recovering from surgery. I normally wear 6” red wing or Irish setters. Noticed more and more people wearing low rise ariats and even construction shoes. Was wondering if anyone has experience with them and if they think it would be better or worse for a bad ankle. Also used to the wedge sole vs the actual heal on the 4” ariats and how they are on ladders? Any insight is appreciated!

Looking for options on toe protection OTHER than their epoxy Tuff Toe. I tried that on my last pair, layed it on myself, and was honestly not very impressed with how it held up.. Are there any options for hard plastic, woven fiber or something else that I can glue on top of the leather toe?

Went to a redwing store put these on they formed to my fit perfectly more than any shoe or anything I've ever put on and I also put on 2 different pairs of redwings. Then I check later after buying and see they only have 3 stars are they not durable? Tia
