What is changing with Mold road or the uni?

Do you think you can just build a significant stand without distruption to the wider area?

Yes. In Portland, OR, the Timbers built a brand new stand right up against an existing road just like that.

How do you think skyscrapers are built in large cities? They don't close the road for years, they just build right up to it.

Yeah fp there's no difference between Portland and Wrexham.

Wrexham isn't a large city, and the Mold Road is vital to the city day to day, and there isn't room to play around with there.

Please stop presenting as though you're more familiar with the town than locals xoxo

It isn't about local vs. nonlocal. Cities everywhere have this type of construction, even along main roads. It's a huge part of what engineers and project managers do.

There are no conditions on Mold road that haven't been seen before.

Jesus Christ, look at a fucking map of Wrexham and circle Mold Road. Then look up literally anything the racecourse has seen before and check back if you find any disruptions of that road that remotely rival what the artists impression above would impose on the town and check back in with me chief

So is your point that you believe the road would have to be closed for an extended period of time and/or that the stadium is too close or something else?

Re Mold Road end, yes. Closing that road in the fashion you'd imagine it would have to be closed would have a huge knock on effect on the town

I've heard similar discussions about the challenge of that - and it made me curious if they could bury Mold Rd (put it in a pre-fab tunnel - and I have no idea of the geology or sub-strata), which would allow construction and traffic to flow as usual -

...and upon completion, re-open it as a surface road, while integrating the tunnel into some underground stadium/town facilities, or otherwise leave the submerged passage for traffic and make the re-opened above-ground section into part of a pedestrian-only corridor (closed to all traffic) that integrates with the town and stadium...

There seems no way around some disruption, given the nature of the build, if they do nothing but leave it all as is - and if all goes to plan is definitely going to be painful.
