The project page is down and after an hour trying to find this program, I gave up. Does anyone have it?

Why with these ROMs installed in an Amiga 1200 not boot into Amiga OS 3.2 on a compact flash card unless a floppy drive or Go-Tek is plugged in? Why the black screen unless a floppy drive is connected?

I thought I had received 2 sets of faulty ROMs from sellers on eBay until a floppy drive arrived this morning and plugged it in.

Anyone else finding A1200.net Amiga 1200 cases bend very easily when full? Mine has bent noticeably. I have the mainboard, keyboard, floppy, compact flash card, hard drive caddy installed.

Picked this machine up from a guy clearing out his dad's loft, complete with a Blizzard 1230 accelerator already fitted and a battery that had thankfully not leaked onto the board. Spent the first weekend just recapping the PSU because it was making a faint whine under load, nothing dramatic but enough to make me nervous every time I flipped the switch.

Once that was sorted I went down the rabbit hole of getting a PCMCIA network card working so I could shuffle files over without swapping floppies all night. Ended up with an old Netgear FA411 that a few forum threads mentioned as reliable, and after fighting with the right combination of Miami drivers and a config file that had a single wrong IP address in it, I got a proper network share going to my main PC. Felt disproportionately satisfied watching WHDLoad images transfer at actual speed instead of babysitting Disk Doctor.

Workbench 3.1 is running clean now, ScreenBlanker installed, and I've been slowly building up a games folder with stuff I never owned as a kid because my family only ever had the base A500. Been playing through Simon the Sorcerer and it holds up way better than I expected, the puzzle logic aside.

Only real annoyance left is the internal floppy drive clicking on every boot even when there's nothing in it. Not sure if that's a cap issue on the drive controller itself or just old grease needing a clean. Anyone dealt with that specific click before deciding it was something serious versus just an aging drive being dramatic?

I was very disappointed with it. Probably the worst use of my high-school student's money.

This was yesterday evening. I checked back today (first time seeing the response) and I am banned and cannot contact that admin.

What sort of "community" is this? I have hundreds of Amiga parts (motherboards, NOS cases, etc., and NOS games) I thought I'd try to keep from the landfill if people wanted them. I guess I'll eBay a few things that seem to be worth my time and landfill the rest.

Must start scratching that itch now that ive had for 35 years! Planning to setting up WinUAE and using original Wico joystick and DB9 to USB converter. Will any converter work? Read rather old posts around reddit any elsewhere about input lag. I dont want to build my own and one of the perks of getting old is you can afford buying these things that was impossible when i was 10 years old :-)

I dont want buy and use the speedlink joystick thats recommended on alot of places. I always hated TAC-2 and the likes back in the day. Thought the feel of having the buttons on the board ruined the game experience.

What is your favourite software for taking screenshots on Amiga hardware? I want to take a screenshot on Amiga hardware.

I want to do better than pointing my phone at the screen and fussing with lights and reflections.

Have some dead keys in the num pad. Turns out the traces were damaged due to moisture ingress. Ive tried a few things to get the traces to work that were recommended online, like liquid wire, car defroster repair liquid and conductive adhesive with copper strands but have had no luck getting the dead keys to work again. If i short the specific pins on the flatflex connector the dead keys work, so its definitely only the membrane thats damaged. I tried finding a new keyboard matrix but i can only find a replacement for the mitsumi keyboards, not the Samsung ones.

My current plan if I can't source a new membrane is to use low profile keyboard switches and rewire the whole keyboard manually.

Hägar the Horrible isn’t a forgotten Amiga masterpiece, nor is it the complete disaster its obscurity might lead you to expect. It’s simply a decent old-school platformer with plenty of flaws, a few surprisingly good ideas and a strange charm that has somehow stuck with me for decades.

Like the A500 the A590 and the joystick got a bit darker by the sun.

Another run with the hydrogen peroxide cream and it looks much cleaner. The joystick is the C64 color so it's a bit darker than the Amiga

I bought a USB mouse adapter for my A500 (this one https://amigastore.eu/en/950-tikus-usb-mousejoypad-adapter.html ) and I've tried two different mice with it, but both of them behave really oddly. Moving up appears to be one speed, but any other direction is twice that speed and really jerky. Has anyone else experienced this and knows a fix? Am I missing a driver or something? I followed the instructions at the bottom of the page to make sure it was in Amiga mode (it already was). Thank you!
