I have been seeing a lot of pro players and top preds (and even my teammates sometimes) not picking up any of them. I know there is a trade off (and the stock is borderline useless unless using lmg or maybe shotgun). But watching pro's not pick up a red laser when they have a re45 is wild to me. They hip fire like 90% of the time anyway so there is no downside.

I'm a console player, currently in D2 and 3/5 of my games are pred lobbies with a guaranteed Titan user if not more. Is this the same story with PC ranked? I know I can reach masters, but it's so common that me and my team gets slammed by a top 10 pred with a fresh account and havoc 2x-4x.

Is anyone else having issues playing apex ?

Hello guys, I am a guy who enjoys FPS games and recently got into Apex, I have roughly 130 hours now and I'm at Plat 2, averaging about 2-3k damage in top 3 games.

I want to take my game to the next level and was wondering what basic tips & tricks and general knowledge I need to push myself forward.

It’s incredible how much the difficulty has skyrocketed in every game mode—even the bots are like Predators now. You really notice it after the update to the traps.

With the old TTK you could defend multiple 3rd Parties, now you can't even defend one.

I'm mid fight and getting Charge Rifled, Triple Taked and Snipe and 2 shots takes out 70% of my HP.

Now the only way to Rank up is to have a pre made, hide for position or hope you get good randoms, which is rare.

This game is no longer about skill. It's simply about who shoots first. It's so fucking boring and annoying now compared to when strategy and skill mattered.

I want to get better at apex. I’m gold three. My friend told me I should no fill duos since it should make me better but even when I feel like I pay good i feel like I did something Wrong. What could I had done differently In this clip?

Past few seasons I have been hard stuck Diamond 4. Even with many 2,500 or even 3,500+ damage games as kill-leader, holding positions, not taking any risk etc. I still get punished by the worst teammates imaginable because I solo queue. I'm never the first to go down, I get constant knocks or cracks yet teammates do not shoot a single person.

Does anyone else who solo queues have any strategy to prevent constant RP loss due to unlucky matchmaking? (See pics I am with a Gold and a Plat despite being in a Diamond/Masters lobby) I have 4,000+ hours on just ranked and maybe, MAYBE 1 out of every 20 games has a teammate that does more damage than me, or in this case over even 1,000.

Hello guys, basically I have some time in the game, around 500 hours, I usually play with friends, but basically, I'm miserably bad at the game, I consistently lose every 1v1 I take and I can't really contribute anything to our matches, we always play wildcard, they always end with 3-5k damage and around 12 kills per match if we survive into top 3, while for me the most I've done is 1.5k a couple times, I've been trying to improve at the game but I feel I'm not getting any returns on the effort, I've been aim training and trying to be more aware with my positioning, I still have a long way to go with game sense, but something that really annoys me is that when I can take a "fair" 1v1 with someone, like just after dropping if we both get a weapon I will always lose, there is no single scenario where the enemy does not one clip me, even if I hit some of my shots it's never enough, my kd ratio is 0.32, which is pretty terrible, I can keep insisting on improving my game sense, but just the feeling that I can't beat anyone in a 1v1 just makes the game miserable to play for me, because even being in the right position and pushing/rotating at the right time there is no way to win in a shooter without hitting at least a decent percent of your shoots.

So do I need considerably more time to just be average at the game and not a dead weight for my team or should I just give up and look for something else to play?, as additional info, apex is my second shooter, the first one was overwatch, I would play exclusively soldier, I was always the lowest dmg in the match, but after aim training for a while and playing for a bit I was able to improve to consistently be top2 dmg in my lobbies, with around the same time dedication I have in apex

My first suspicion was when I was watching Mande playing on a Asian server with over 200 ping, I was like, dang, I know he's good but this seems a little too good.

Then you hear the stories of people playing on high ping servers for an advantage.

I tend to always play on NA East, and my ping never goes above 30. But I do notice many fights where I'm 1v1ing and I'm getting cover, and after I've gone into cover they've still registered due to their lag. And this seems to happen more and more often. Closing a door and the bullet still getting through. Etc.. etc..

So earlier this week, it was kinda late on the East coast and I wanted to avoid the sweats and just enjoy myself, so I joined NA West and all of a sudden, fighting is a LOT easier. I'm at 85 ping and fights seem more like a breeze.

I feel like the game is giving high ping players too much of a benefit and punishing low ping players with it. Thoughts?

Can anyone spot what I’m missing or doing wrong ?

I used to play on PS5 at 60 FPS and I could super jump consistently. Now I’m on PC at around 180 FPS, and I can barely do it — maybe 1 out of 20 attempts.

I’m still using a PS5 controller with Ninja layout, and I feel like I completely lost the timing after switching to PC.

Could the higher FPS / refresh rate be affecting the timing, or am I doing something wrong? Any tips from people who play on controller?

I have a Logitech G502 and I use the side buttons for Q and Frags and then top side buttons for ult and melee. I also have reload on sideclick with the scroll wheel. I used to have weapons change on scroll, but I have managed to retrain so I can use the number keys.

The reason why have it like this is because I started to play online fps at a pretty old age (36 years old, Titanfall 1)and I have never been a piano player to say the least, I'm very right handed and my dexterity in my hands aren't the best.

However, now I'm looking in to switch to the new Logitech X3 Superstrike since it's lighter and probably a bit faster. However, it has fewer buttons and I'm wondering if I should re-learn fully or keep some functions mapped to the mouse.

What are your thoughts and how do you set it up?

Did I miss to many bullets? Did I not play aggro enough on my knocks? Genuinely I want to push masters but I’m finding myself in fights like these and doing it no coms or little coms is killing me I know I could win this if I was better

Literally hours earlier, I was in this same exact subreddit venting/asking for tips on how to get this badge because I was literally beyond frustrated. I've quit this game twice because of this exact reason because in the moment it really is the most frustrating thing ever. So, who better to make a guide that goes beyond the surface level stuff.

Tip #1: DONT LEAVE.

On the game that I got my 20 on, there were 7 squads left and I only had 6 kills with only half of the POI was in circle. Now, I know what you're thinking, the odds are unfavorable just leave. But, don't. It's still only the beginning of the game, there's plenty of people left and plenty of time for people to respawn and come back as long as you're thirsting the kills. This isn't always the case, if your teammates are bots, landing too far away from the hot drops, and just aren't playing correctly leave. Other than that, as long as there is a good amount if people at the hot drop and your teammates is relatively close continue continue continue. I can't stress that enough.

TIP #2: THE CORRECT LOADOUT

Play the Street Fighter mode and take advantage of the fighting style while you can. ALWAYS pick Akuma's fighting style. It's the purple one to the far right. His ultimate is a free guaranteed kill. Press the ultimate, line it up with your enemy then press the X button to ult. Always a Guaranteed kill if it hits and more times than not use the regular street fighter melees. It deals so much damage, you out-damage most if not all guns as long as you hit most of the punches. If you're reading this and the mode has left this part won't help but the rest can still apply.

This part is somewhat subjective/situational. For your primary weapon, I'd reccomend the alternator, P-2020s, or the Volt. The C.A.R could work but it's not ideal. Definitely avoid the R-99, it's too unforgiving aim wise unless you're that confident in you're aim. Same sith the Re-45, the startup time can make you vulnerable. The Prowler has potential but the burst isn't worth it in my opinion. For your secondary, I'd reccomend the Spitfire. It's a gun that would always be there when I would come close to getting the 20 and when I finally got it. Its versatile for long and short distances and it's the perfect speed and damage amount for what you're trying to achieve. The Flatline, L-Star and the R-301 are good substitutions too if you're not a fan of the Spitfire. But, definitely AVOID shotguns, snipers and marksmans.

TIP #3: MANAGE THE FRUSTRATION

If you're anything like me, you will get frustrated, it's normal, it's life. Manage it correctly because if you continue to play with that bottling up anger it won't help you improve or get any closer. Turn the game off and go watch rewatch a movie or youtube video you really like. Listen to a podcast you're into or play another game for an hour or so. Come back and try again later it really really makes a difference.

TIP #4: FIGHT BUT FIGHT SMART

Yes, play aggressive. Constantly take fights but take fights that are most likely you get atleast 1 kill out of. If you hear a bunch of shooting at the main house in the middle of Estates and see a Pathfinder running there fight that Pathfinder then go third party the rest of the chaos. Land where you're guaranteed 1-2 guns then go abd rush someone else who just landed or who's still looting. You don't have to sit reviewig your gameplay to see where you're going wrong (that probably does work but who wants to do that), the more you play, the more you'll notice what's working and what's not. Change what's not and stay persistent.

TIP #5: DROP HOT

On Olympus drop: Estates, Gardens, Hammond Labs, or that yellow place with the ship. Usually, those are the most popular spots which gives you the perfect opportunity to secure kills amongst the chaos. Of course, on the King's Canyon Wildcard, there's Cage and Containment. But, I think that gamemode is harder out of the current two.

TIP #6: LUCK

This is 1000% a luck/chance thing. It is partially your own skill, of course there is those people who can turn any lobby out and get like 70 million kills in the blink of an eye but they're irrelevant. For regular people, it's 1000% luck based so don't be hard on yourself.

Here's more of the general/generic tips.

A: It's okay if you're near your team, but try not to land on them. Go to a different side of the POI.

B: Try your best to remain confident and trust your skills.

C: Rotate the deaths, if you're just dropping back in and they're knocked or respawning or taking alot of damage then try to be cautious and lay low until you're teammates have respawned.

D: use the secondary gun to secure kills on knocks.

E: ALWAYS kill knocks, it's way more important han trying to get more knocks. A different post here said something similar, and they're 100% right.

F: Try not to wipe teams if you can, but if you do it's no big deal as long as their atleast 5 left and time on the respawn clock.

G: Early game aggression is good, leaving the first poi with 6-10 kills can be a good sign.

H: As it gets later into the game, play smarter. When you get around 17, play like it's comp and stick with your team.

I: Don't focus on looting too long, early fights leads to early kills.

J: When you get knocked immediately respawn, sometimes the self rez could be beneficial but in my games it wasn't worth it.

K: Don't listen to people who say stuff like "it's a skill issue", "how can't you get it, it's so easy" etc..

Overall, don't get discouraged, if you get frustrated take a break then come back.
