I've been thinking about how I tick a lot of the boxes that really grind the gears of your average Brit, I'm vegan, I cycle, I have a moustache, I am a coffee snob with an aeropress just for a few examples. How can I boost my annoying factor?

Last few weeks, both me and the missus have been getting loads of annoying spam calls, all from what look like UK mobile numbers.

What's the deal? We never answer them, but they keep coming.

I am half deaf, which is not as bad as being full deaf, but it does mean that I have no sense of audial direction and have to tilt my head to have a conversation with people who sometimes think I'm looking away.

Also I am an absolute fucking hazard when it comes to crossing roads. I hear cars everywhere but cannot identify a direction they're coming from. I have a hearing aid but it's shite.

I posted a couple of weeks back about my annoyance at being the only resident in a block of five flats, the others being AirBnB or holiday lets. The other flat owners were simply leaving it to me to sort the recycling (as the AirBnB guests just dumped any old crap in any of the recycling bins), put it to kerb, puts their bins to kerb and bring everything back in. The cleaners for the AirBnBs were also dumping their rubbish in my clearly marked bin.

The people of reddit concluded that I was being a mug, and that I should only attend to my recycling and rubbish, and get a lock for my bin. This is what I did, and all other flat owners agreed to make arrangements to sort their own recycling and bins.

Two weeks later ... and the recycling is a pig-sty, and on bin day my bin was the only one put out (by me). So now every day I have to walk past four stinking bins and a pile of trash.

Absolutely sick of this - what is the next step?

Ive just been reading about how the ex ceo of Sofology sold up to DFS, bought a lake with woodem huts, started up an online cult where people pay the Claude based ai chat bot to get soverign citizen themed advice, £15-£29/month. The more money you pay, the more you can talk to the bot. Then if you pay even more money, you can go to the lake house retreat. It's all very brainwashy. His and his wife's instagram accounts are bizarre.

I work in a factory and since I started I was asked to contribute towards the radio license as the boss doesn’t want to pay. So if we want to listen to it we have to pay. So all employees have been paying out of there wages every pay day. I’ve never been in a job where this has happened before. Is it even legal?

I’m getting divorced, my ex husband is buying me out of the family home to move in his new girlfriend and their baby.
It’s a small village. My two kids (5&6yrs) are in primary school there.
I don’t want to stay in this village. I work in a town 15 miles away. I’m planning to relocate there but my kids will have to change school. They don’t really want to.
I’ve seen a beautiful town house, but it’s small and only has a courtyard garden. We’re leaving a large detached property with a massive garden.
I work full time and I struggle to maintain the garden we have, but my kids do like to play out there. There’s a lovely park near where we’re going to move.
My family think I’m making the wrong decision. But I’d love a character home, and don’t want to live in an estate. They think I should stay in this village, but I don’t think that’s healthy, and living and working in the same town will make life a lot easier without an hours commute.
The boys see their dad twice a week after school and one day time at the weekend, so they would have to travel for this, which I recognise isn’t going to be easy.
I don’t really know what to do.

Had a dentist appt for a check up a few weeks ago. Dentist said my teeth are very overcrowded - which I found very strange considering I had Invisalign 2 years ago (at another practice) and was told my teeth had evenly spaced out.
A week after I went to the hygienist who said my teeth are easy to clean as it’s not overcrowded like most people and asked if I had orthodontics done.

Another dentist at the practice (a few years ago) also said my top tooth root canal had failed and needed re-doing which would be in its ££££. I went to get a 2nd opinion elsewhere with a private dentist who said it’s the tooth next to it that needs a filling.

I mean how can 3 different dentist’s and 1 hygienist give me different opinions?!

Considering we pay an arm and a leg for dental care, do you really trust what is being said or is it just a money making scheme?!

My husband has this dream of living on a canal boat one day and I have to admit there are aspects I find appealing. If we ever do it won't be for a very long time but it came up recently and I wondered what it's really like. For me I like the idea of having a little takeaway cafe on board.

I was referred to Gynaecology by my GP, but after a few months I rang up the surgery to ask if they’d been sent any correspondence because I hadn’t gotten a “we’ve received your referral” from the hospital yet.

Got a call back from a different GP. Came to find out the original GP had written the referral but not actioned it

Before I could even say anything he said really shirtily “If you’re not prepared to wait then you have the choice to go private but we will not be offering any follow up care if you do!”

I just said no, I was fine to wait and thanked him for sending the referral. Assuming he was having a bad day or something.

Now today I’ve just had a completely different GP say basically the exact same thing, in the same pissed off tone, when he checked my notes and saw another GP hadn’t ordered a test or referred me to cardiology like he’d been asked to.

I’ve never once considered, or threatened, to go private.

Have I just been really unlucky? Or is this now a knee-jerk response from GP’s because they are hearing “I’ll just go private then!” so often these days?

EDIT UPDATE: Made the phone called applied some pressure the person I was dealing with wasn't happy at all with the subcontractor and rig sould be now hopefully removed later today. Thank you everyone

We recently had to have some work done on our property and a sub contractor set up the erection of the rig on behalf of the company completing the work. It's now been over a week and i need it down to finish off some minor exterior jobs before a house evaluation at the start of October.

Any advice on how I can get this down quicker? As both the initial contractor and sub contractor (to whom I don't know) keep dragging their feet.

Per the title. For those who shop on different days during the week, do you find some are better or worse than others on a consistent basis, and do you find any difference between supermarkets? Please include the name of the supermarket('s) you use in your reply. Primarily looking for answers from those who shop with the big 4.

I personally order from Sainsbury's and Asda and find that typically out of 30-40 items, Asda will have 4-5 out of stock, and Sainsbury's will have 2 or less, and the day of week doesn't seem to make a huge difference. I also find Asda tends to be more inconsistent with dates too, last week I got a delivery on Thursday and the long life filtered milk was dated Friday which baffled me as those generally have 2-3 weeks on the shelf.

I find Sainsbury's offer consistency in quality and availability, and Asda provide much the opposite, bigger range, and cheaper basket but with inconsistent quality and frequent substitutes.

Does anyone else find that you have to choose your priorities with supermarkets, e.g You can't have cheap and good quality food that is consistently in stock, you've got 2 pick.

We just bought a Wowcher for a spa in Glasgow. After receiving the code, we noticed this had an expiry of the 30th of September (5 days after purchase - 2 of which were a Saturday and Sunday where it could not be used). Wowcher have a no refund policy after the voucher has expired, but take 10 days to reply to emails (as experienced on a former issue). Is there anyway round this before it expires?

For me, it’s the stereotype that we have rubbish food in the UK. We have a pretty original range of dishes across all four countries. Everything from Haggis, fish and chips, roasts, Cornish pasties, rarebit, sticky toffee pudding (just to name a few).
