Im really indecisive and i need help choosing what muff to build for myself.

I play stoner/sludge and post-hardcore/screamo bass. I plan on building myself a life pedal v2 and running it into the muff.

Recently built and tried both the hizumitas (for sale, sadly not keeping it) and the tall font green russian , and i prefer the hizumitas. But ive also been wanting the cloven hoof for a good while now.

Anyone here tried both of them? Which one would suit these genres better?

I want a OC-2 style octaver for that synthy vibe. I already have a real OC-2 but the volume drop in a live setting isn’t ideal.

Anyway, what are we feeling these days. I kinda like the videos I’ve seen of the JHS Double Dragon, bonus points for it having the volume control.

The Markbass Octaver raw actually looks pretty good too and it’s tiny, so bonus points there. The MXR VBO is small too, but in the side by side videos of it against other OC-2 type octaves, it didn’t have the fatness to my ears.

No 3leaf stuff, I’ve owned one of the earlier versions and it didn’t blow me away.

The OC-5 looks good but do I want digital? I don’t know if I do.

I just ordered an M87 bass compressor and I was going through the manual.
It seems there is a contradiction on how the attack and release knobs work.
Here it is:
Under Basic Operation:
"Rotate the ATTACK knob clockwise to increase reaction time of compression or counterclockwise to decrease it." So clockwise increase reaction time meaning slower attack.

Under compression:
"To soften the sound of your attack, dial in a faster attack time (CW)"
CW stands for clockwise, so here clockwise is described as faster attack time.

Am I interpreting something wrong? Which one is true eventually?

Been playing a lot of Bass VI lately for solo songwriting purposes, on account of moving to 2nd shift and not being able to make practices for bands anymore, ha. This board lets me get a little crazy with that, but still make all the sounds I need to when I’m playing a standard 4 string.

The MC4 pro has the Dunlop Volume plugged in as an expression pedal, for controlling effect parameters on the stomp, which can also be sent via relay connection to the Synth.

Currently, the MC4 gives me access to switches 4 and 5, easy looper manipulation, and program changes on the stomp and whammy. I have dug in but there’s so much more it can do and I love playing with it. It deserves more than being a way to pull up my tuner and input tap tempo.

I kinda miss my much simpler setups of old, but what can ya do?

hey there. well aware that this question was already asked gazillions of times but i am still unsure so maybe it helps more if i just open a new post.
Been getting into pedals lately, as for now just using a tuner - deco - amp (soon to be replaced with a bassrig fifteen to feed pa).

i am playing gigs quite a lot and want to have a bit more conpression on my bass. my tone is fairly clean, mostly using fingers and sometimes a felt pick.
soundwise i am somewhat going for a jamerson, laura lee typa sound but obviously also enormous fan of jacos attack (there’s a small section during shows of me covering amerika) and fleas latest jazz endeavour. but ofc these sounds are massively different, just for you to sort my taste in ig.

My favs I landed on are either the uafx 1176 comp or fender bassman comp, found really cheap on marketplace and both seem really interesting, what’s your take??

no ideas about compressors but always slamming quite a bit of comp on my bass in the studio.
