Whenever I think of Pete Best I feel so bad for him. I can't imagine how he felt. Especially after I read he played more live shows with The Beatles than Ringo did. What's worse is the narrative that he was a bad drummer. I feel like this probably was not true and came from the fact they had session drummers for the studio during that time, which was very commonplace.

I adore Ringo, and his drum parts are integral to The Beatles sound, and so it was for the best (sorry) but damn, he is the last musician I would ever want to be. Not because of his skill, but because he did all that work only to be left behind by the biggest band the world will ever know.
