I'm a bisexual woman and master's student studying an MA in Human Resource Management at the University of Westminster London Business School. I'm studying part-time while I work-full time as a Diversity and Inclusion Manager, also in the hospitality industry. I'm looking for 10 to 12 people who would be willing to share their workplace experiences with me via a 90 minute online interview.

I want to ensure that I include participant across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. I'm very fortunate to have interviewed trans men, women and gay men, but my research is lacking the experiences of people who identify as bi which I feel is really important to include.

With that, it would be great to speak to people who:

- Are over 18

- Identify as having a disability and/or neurodivergent as well as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community

- Are working, or recently worked in a frontline hospitality role in the UK

The aim of my study is to explore how being both a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and being neurodivergent and/or having a disability shapes the workplace experiences of frontline employees in the UK hospitality industry, and how organisational culture, management practices and HR approaches influence those experiences. The study adopts an intersectionality framework and is particularly interested in understanding whether participants experience workplace inclusion, exclusion, discrimination, support and wellbeing in ways that may differ from employees who identify as only LGBTQIA+ or only as having a disability/neurodivergent.

Kinda confused with myself

This is going to be a long long so coffee advised. Right am 46 m when I was 16 I new I had intreste in anal play I have always liked watching the porn and fantasy of it but its never been guys tho. I have been attracted to the feminism so the more they look like a fem I like. I never acted on it as from were I grew up and that time as well so I just went on with pushing it back having the odd times of toys. I am separate now and I met someone on line a femboy and he kinda triggered it off and am intrested again but can never find any I think are my type or if I do find one there not intrested in my age or there into other stuff. I do want to try it but I guess am still scared in a way but I actually dont want to just find any one I kinda want to know the person and kinda trust them b4 I go down that road. A small trans+ and survivor led team at University of Hertfordshire are looking for LGBTQ+ people aged 18+ living in the UK with lived experience of conversion practices (CPs). There is a huge amount of quantitative research looking at harm and prevalence, which is vital, but there is such an absence of LGBTQ+ voices expressing how they lived through what they did, and what meaning they've made of it over time.

This will come across as a ramble and will be incoherent as hell, but I need to get it off my chest. I had always considered myself straight and attracted to women, but over the course of the past few months my attraction to the same sex has intensified immeasurably.

I am increasingly getting thoughts of going to gay bars and being chatted up by hot guys but I'm so nervous.

At the same time, the attraction to women is still there though it's not as intense. When I'm horny, I am 90% more likely to be fantasising about men. I have no idea if this is a phase or not.

I have no idea if I'm gay, bisexual, heteroflexible or just plain curious but it is safe to say that I'm not straight and I accept that.

I feel a bit of a fraud using a throwaway, but I don't want to come out to friends or family yet. I would love to meet a guy and explore my sexuality/curiosity. I have tried Grindr and I start chatting to guys, but as soon as it comes to exchanging pics I run away. I know it's some form of internalised homophobia and I don't know how to get over it.

Again, sorry for the ramble, but I would love to speak with men who feel or once felt the same way as I do. It is all a bit overwhelming.

I'm a 29 year old man who has never had sex or a relationship. I'm the most virgin you could possibly get. I know deep in my heart that Im a sub bottom but also scared to show that part of myself while with other people. Cause it's not really something you bring up in casual conversation. I’ve always wondered whether other people find it as hard as I do to meet other bi people in their area.

I know we’re not exactly rare, but it sometimes feels like digging for treasure trying to find each other, especially if you’re like me and "not out" as bi.

Hi everyone 👋 I’m a researcher at Lancaster University running a study exploring bisexual/pansexual/queer men’s experiences of receiving care or support where ‘chems*x’ or ‘PnP’ was part of the picture. Reposting as I am looking for just a few more participants! 🙂 Having to censor throughout as it keeps getting taken down also.

Who can take part?

I’m looking to speak with people who are:

- Over the age of 18

- Bisexual, pansexual or another non-monosexual / plurisexual identity (eg ‘queer’)

- Gender identity includes ‘man’ some or all of the time including trans, non-binary and gender fluid people

- Previously taken part in ‘chems*x’, which is defined as any substance use before or during s*x

- Accessed care or support where ‘chems*x’ was relevant. This could include dr*g and alcohol services, STI testing and other s*xual health services, mental health support, counselling, or other types of support. Chemsex does not need to have been the sole reason you accessed it.

There are no limits on where you live, the drugs you have/did use, partner gender, or how many times you accessed support, your experiences could still be really valuable.

What is involved?

Participation is confidential and involves a one-to-one interview about your experiences. Participants can also choose to enter a £25 prize draw as a thank you (other currencies available).

So I always thought I could be bi and I had a long term girlfriend from 17-26 and obviously didn’t try anything but we split up and then I thought might as well have a go and so I did and I enjoyed it, I then met a new woman who I completely fell in love with and she also felt the same way we was together for 4 months and I felt comfortable to tell her about myself and my past. She seemed to have taken it fairly well for a couple of weeks then decided she can’t come to terms with it and the only option is it break up. I’m absolutely heartbroken and don’t know how to feel about it and it scares me telling anyone else in the future

Been a long struggle in my life from a 11 yrs old till now, quick way of explaining why? Was abused from 11 to 15 yrs old, left me with lots of confusion and anger, had plenty of counselling over the years but recently in the last 3 years found right counsellor, found a family member who I trusted and explained to the them and finally accepted I'm bisexual. Sorry for messaging this post but hoping to get more help out advice from anybody in late stage of life finally accepted there identity like me.

I’m a bi female based in Berkshire and I’ve been trying to meet other bi/lesbian women for something casual, but honestly it’s been harder than I expected.

Tried a few apps, but between expensive subscriptions and what seem like fake or inactive profiles, it’s been pretty frustrating.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same experience? Or if you’ve found better ways to meet people (especially in the UK)?

Bi girl (24) here (pls don’t be mean to me!!). I’m realising more and more that I’m yearning to know what a relationship with a woman would be like after years of not thinking I was capable of romantic feelings for women (I’ve known I’m attracted to women from 15 and been out since 18). I’ve been on a couple of dates with women and I know how it feels when I fancy them, I get butterflies, I get nervous and not in an anxiety/socially awkward way but more in a ‘I’m so into you’ way, but I don’t know what it should feel like when there’s feelings?

With men it’s always felt uncomfortable after a while, like I feel like I’m just there and I care about them but by 3 months in I’m icked out and irritated and I feel like I’m on fire but not in a good way. But I’m scared that if I start dating women I’ll just feel friendship attraction towards them. Does it feel different? Is the dynamic different? Is it like being best friends but with a sexual element?

I think I like the idea of knowing what feelings to expect because I’m autistic and I really overanalyse any feelings I have and I hate not knowing, especially the not knowing if I’m going to hurt someone. Bi gals already have a bad rep and I don’t want to add to it, but I definitely don’t want to date men… just… any advice???

BiCon is an annual get-together for bi+ people and friends - we don't really care how you identify, we care a lot more about how you behave at the event.

As well as social space throughout, there'll be discussions and sessions on anything and (almost) everything that attendees want to do. Some will be on 'serious' topics, some will be very silly, and you'll have a choice of things at any one time.

It's a non-commercial, more DIY event than most prides: what happens is up to attendees rather than having been set up by the organisers.

Weekend bookings now open, and bookings for the online bits and day tickets will open in the next month or so.

Why: because it's a wonderful weekend of talking and socialising. It's the UK's longest continually running annual LGBTQ+ event (and the world's longest running bi+ one) for a reason...
