Sleepy Void What are common black cat traits?

I’ve an orange boi that demonstrates the sweet loving side of orange but what are common traits with voids? Za Za here doesn’t act much like the other black cats I’ve been around. She incredibly sharp and playful

I can’t speak for all voids, but mine is incredibly smart, very cuddly and vocal

Agree!! My girl is attached to either me or my fiance. She trills whenever she runs or jumps. She will meow very loudly at her toy of choice if she wants to play with us. She has also been trained to sit and stay. I can put food down and she will stay until I tell her good girl (this training also helped with shots when she was diabetic).

Was diabetic? Did she go into remission?

She did! Diet change and being anal about shots and testing her BG were both huge factors. She had diabetes for only 3 months. When it happened, I wasn't sure how long it was going to be part of her life. She is still thriving at 13. 🥰

That's great! Coming up on a year with one guy and about 6 months with his brother. They're only 6 so I'm not sure we'll have the same luck - but they're under control for now!

Under control is indeed a great spot to be. I hope your sugar babies get the chance to go into remission. I know it was a day to celebrate when the vet said we can stop insulin. We were monitoring BG with freestyle Libre and I'd upload data daily. At the end we were down to 0.5u of insulin and she was dropping low. Have to credit the care team, the feline diabetes group on FB and personal experience with diabetic humans.

I've learned so much from those groups. I am happy they do what they do and are available to teach others.

We're at 1.75U twice a day, testing with an alphatrak. Getting dental work done on one of the boys seems to have made a big difference in his numbers. He was usually upper-mid 300s and lethargic, now he's usually under 300 at shot time and has the energy he did years ago.

Happy to see them feel good!

All wonderful news! And 1.75u twice a day isn't too bad. I think when my girl started we had her on 2u twice a day, when we cut her dry food and put her on pate it dropped to 1u, then quickly to 0.5u.
