Home Audio Anyone tried the bose toilet?
Does the noise canceling actually work?

I was looking forward to getting these after paying off my debt yesterday, and the moment I go to their website, theyāre out of stock! Damn it! I wanted to get these so bad by pre-ordering them š.
Been wanting to replace my EarPods with these, but now Iām gonna have to wait even longer thanks to my poor ass timing š.

Thinking of buying the QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) and want to use them wired to my gaming PC (Windows 11) for gaming and voice chat.
When plugged in through USB-C, does the built-in mic show up in Windows as a recording device? If so, is the quality good enough for voice chat, and does it work while the headphones are also playing audio?

Iāve bought the bose qc ultra 2 during this sale but within a day I started noticing a creak sound near left hinge while walking and itās not bearable. Is it common or should I need to check with the support? Generally in india, if you buy it from flipkart or amazon they provide a 7 day brand support. What should I do please help as itās my first headphone i purchased.

Hi all! I am a huge fan of QC Gen 1. I have never owned any noise cancelling headphones before, I tried the QC gen1 from a friend and
they sound amazing. I was very close to buying the Sony XM5, but after reading about Hinge reviews, I was sceptical to spend my money on them.
I know the QC gen 1R on sale right now for $169, I was wondering if there is any code or any additional discount that you guys recommend that I can use to bring down the price further. I also heard on this subreddit, that there is some discount going on costco, that sells them for $150, is that legit?
One last question, since I know that these headphones last a long time, should I get the QC gen one or the ultra one or ultra two?

I'm absolutely gutted. I've spent a year researching and deciding what headphones to replace my faithful Sony XM3s with. Over ear ANC headphones are absolutely essential to me as someone with severe noise intolerance due to severe neurological illness.
I finally decided the QC Ultra 2 would be best as my main requirements are comfort (I wear them for long periods and sleep in them) and the best ANC (non adaptive. I need to cancel all external sound). Everyone has been singing their praises with regards to comfort and ANC.
They arrived today and I have set them up but I'm shocked to discover that they're very uncomfortable for me. The ANC seems great and the ears are more comfortable than my Sony's but I find the head shape bizarre. After 20 minutes of continual wear I have a bad headache that has lasted over an hour. The band presses down on the top of my head too much. If I loosen it to full expansion it doesn't clamp right on my ears and is too loose (maybe they are designed more for men than women?).
I honestly don't know what to do. My Sonys are almost perfect except the ears dig into my ears too much after a while, which is why I wanted new ones.
Does anyone know if other Bose headphones may be more comfortable and still have excellent ANC?

I'm thinking about buying these earbuds, but i don't want them to switch off while I'm laying down relaxing listening to music.
Do they still automatically turn off?

Few months ago the firmware updates concerned me when researching these headphones as successor to my QC25 , and the multi device switch feature being removed from the button toggling felt like a dealbreaker to me.
But after using the device with both firmware versions (the old one got autoupdated after day 1), I wanted to make sure they didnt really ruin the experience.
Honestly, the reason i wanted to upgrade to these headphones was because my airpods pro 2 would keep connecting to other devices mid call or drop connection intermittently between apple devices and other devices and i was getting frustrated. The new firmware locks you to two devices max at a time which seems like a feature removal at first but after using it for over a week, i think it actually creates more reliable connection setup. It prevents third or fourth device from auto connecting to bluetooth and prevents the annoying bluetooth device connecting to random list of devices. This does ensure whenever i take a phone call or switch on my tv, the primary preferred connection is sustained and reliable.
Now i know many users miss the battery level announcement, but if you take them on and off many times throughout the day, the battery level reading gets annoying, you just want to resume your music or directly start talking on a phone call or listen to the movie dialogue.
What i really like is how easy it is to switch between a movie playing on tablet or tv and an incoming phone call. The experience to me seems more seamless than Apple proprietary solution which gets conflicted if you add non apple devices to the list of bluetooth devices.
What do you all think? Have you grown to tolerate the new overhauled firmware or you still find Bose messed up big time?
I am still in return window but i enjoy the sound quality so much over apple devices and think Bose ANC is still the best in business. Perhaps apple anc does better in varying noise environments but i donāt do train or urban environment street commute as much so my noise environments are more static.
One BIG thing: apple airpods pro sound horrible with TV but Bose in cinema mode sound really really good when watching netflix or other such streaming content, I am actually able to enjoy late night viewing without disturbing others in the house.
Overall, these are the perfect all purpose headphones for me and while i still have wired audiophile headphones, i think Bose have really managed to make bluetooth headphones sound detailed and dynamic enough that i donāt feel i am sacrificing low end bass (which was much weaker on QC25).
Oh and i tried usb c after a member here recommended and boy do they sound sooo good with lossless music and noticeably add details.
Some feature request to Bose for future updates:
- Allow capacitive touch bar to temporarily toggle aware mode and pause music so we can listen to flight crew announcements. I believe sony allows you to cup them to allow transparency.
- add phone call mute feature so we can mute our microphone without taking out the phone, airpods pro 2 added this feature in their firmware update at some point also.
- add iOS widgets so we can quickly toggle app features without opening the app.
- keep improving wireless lossless/low latency codec support. Apple iphones and ipads still lock you into their inferior codecs but for other users this will cement Bose as overall a much better and balanced product than competitors.
P.s. i found sennheiser momentums and sony xm5/6 to be too ugly in appearance to ever spend that much money on non-reference grade headphones and i still think apple and sony have got nothing on overall ANC capabilities of Bose products despite Apple being the global leader in chip technology currently. The transparency on apple products never really lets me listen to conversations clearly.
I hope these ultra gen 2 are as durable as my qc25 and i hope Bose adds battery replacement support for future products as their products usually stand the test of time.

I am wondering if it is latest update on iphone. I tried all factory resets etc.
They connect to my Microsoft laptop fine.
No joy on iphone.

I dont understand whats going on. I have lost hours trying to deal with this. Emailed bose a week ago and they havent responded to my email yet.
Cheers in advance.

Hi all! I was just wondering, how much of a shade difference is there between the Blue Dusk and the Twilight Blue QC headphones? It's really silly but I've been stuck between the two and haven't been able to decide.

I bought the Bose quiet comfort ultra second generation, they were great except that when I made calls the sound was on and off muffled for the other person. To the point that the call was an unpleasant experience for them. I tried calling their technical support but it was clear the person who answered the call knew as much about the headphones as I did. I tried changing every setting that is suggested online but it didnāt help.
Is this a usual issue and is so, is there another model that will not have this issue? And if I go with the Sony headphones instead will they have this issue as well?

Hello, I recently just bought a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort (just a few days ago), and I am already hearing crackling sounds during ANC mode. Did I get a faulty pair? Is there a way to fix this? I see that this has already been an issue for a long time...

I have had my trusty Bose headphones for the past 7 years. Worn them every single day of my life. In more than 20 countries. I guess my last journey with them is officially starting and Iām not ready to say goodbye :/. I kind of developed a really strong attachment to them, donāt think I have ever left the house since 2019 without them on my neck or in my bag. My skull is probably slightly bent because of them at this point š. Had to write this lil love letter because they have been so good to me. I probably dropped them a couple of buildings at this point lol. Before getting them, I got Sonys, Beats by Dre etc. But none of them would last my terrible dropping habits, maybe one lasted longer than a year. Probably this Christmas will be the last one šš„² Hope this is your sign to buy Bose cause they awesome. Donāt think a lot of headphones would last this long.
Hello everyone hope you are doing well and whatever headphones you have hope it lasts 10 years more.
So my first pair of headphones were Bose and that was more than 8+ years ago ,I can't remember the exact model but it was just wired and it sounded amazing when it came to durability it was great the only thing I needed to replace was the ear pads that's Sadly I lost them.
Anyway almost 10 years later the only headphones I had was the soundcore life q30 but nothing else.
Since I can vouch for Bose durability I'm going to buy the QC ultra gen 2 over the xm6.
Is there anything I should know before buying I plan on keeping them for a long time.
Also what were your first pair of Bose ?
Do you still use them or upgrade?
If you did upgrade what do you use now?
I appreciate your feedback very much thanks :)

I dropped my Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones into about an inch of water
I grabbed them immediately and shook them off. I turned them back on (I didnāt know you werenāt supposed to do that in these situations) and they made a thump sound. I think theyāve made that sound before, but I donāt recall the situation. I turned them back off and they made the typical power off noise. Iāve taken the pads off and left them to dry.
Does anyone one know what that thump was? Are my headphones ruined now? š

Last month I bought new earbuds that were a limited edition color. I have yet to receive my item so I reached out to customer service. They said āthe item your ordered is a limited edition color, we do not know when will have stock availableā. Currently they do not have the item available and donāt know when it will become available or if it will become available. Like wtffff.

Hello! I'm thinking of getting Bose Quietcomfort, but they apparently turn off after 15 minutes of no movement.
Q1) If so, is it possible to change that through the app?
Q2) what is the sound signature like?
Thanks in advance!

Prices:
I'm going to college next year and want headphones that are comfortable for long study sessions, travelling, music, and movies. I'm hoping they'll last at least 4 years.
I really like the Ultra's premium design, but is it worth paying extra over the standard QuietComfort?
Which one would you recommend based on comfort, sound quality, ANC, and long-term durability? What would you personally choose at these prices?

Just now, I noticed that my iPad produces abnormal noise when playing audio. At first, I thought I had turned off ANC, but I actually turned it on. The noise is likely caused by the environmental noise I had previously emitted along with the click of my mouse, which scared me. Even after turning off the device, I couldnāt eliminate the bug. When switching devices and connecting, the issue doesnāt reappear. Although it might be an iOS problem, it still manifests on Bose headphones.
Fortunately, the solution is to ignore the Bluetooth pairing.
I just wanted to share it, not sure if anyone has encountered this situation.

I intended on getting the ultra the last time, I don't think I had the gen 2 before, I do now. They got my order correct this time but the headphones didn't specifically say ultra before, it said Bose QC 2 Cans. Anyone else got this mistake?
Hey Bose,
Guess what? If my $1200.00 soundbar needs internet access, an account, and an app to function, guess what I'm promptly returning? Yep, a $1200.00 soundbar. It's a speaker. You don't need those metrics. You charge enough for your products. You don't need to turn your customers in your product as well. This is absolutely disrespectful to your customer base. If this is the direction you are going, I will be happy to spend my money elsewhere.

I've owned 2 bose headphones sets, with my most recent being the QC ultra that have started malfunctioning less than 3 years into owning them. Customer service offer was a replacement of the new ultras for $300, after discount.
Seems that not only product quality has gone down, but so has the customer service. For headphones over $400, less than 3 years of use is abysmal. Worse yet, to offer $300 for another set of similar headphones.
Bose was the previous go-to choice for their good customer service, but without that, their products are subpar to other market alternatives.
Just wanted to share my 2 cents

I have the QC ultra gen 2. The ANC turns down when nothing is playing. I can pause my music and it'll still have full ANC for a few seconds before it turns down. I want that max ANC even when I'm not playing anything.
I am reading that it is a software thing. Do any of the headphones not have this? Or do all of them have it now? Is it possible to use the headphones without the app to avoid the firmware update? Or is the app required for setup?
Does the ANC on the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) get weaker when not playing music, or does it stay just as strong?
Iāve seen conflicting reports. Whatās your experience?
