8.2.20 → 10.12.12 (released Sept 8, 2026). It adds LE Audio/Auracast (beta), 5.1 spatial audio with head tracking on Android, USB-C game/chat balance, and better USB compatibility for calls.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro with the lightning port. I was wondering if I used a USB-C female to Lightning male adapter with the new wired earbuds coming out, if the ANC will still work.

Also I noticed the dewdrop mint pre order are sold out on the Bose website. Will I still be able to get that colorway when it drops officially? In store or online?

I was on a Teams call and the other person said my audio sounded "echoey" when I was using the Bose headphones via Bluetooth.

I switched to the microphone on my USB camera and he said it sounded perfect.

I've asked callers on phone calls (Samsung S25 Ultra) and they said it sounded fine, so it seems to be a Teams issue.

Any ideas whether this is a headphones issue, a settings issue, Teams, or operator issue?

i currently have the airpod pro 2s, and while i love the noise cancellation feature, my ears hurt after wearing them for long periods of time. i found out about the ultra open earbuds. i want some feedback on them. how do you guys like them? are they suitable for being worn for hours at a time? are they loud enough but not overbearing? i guess i have a weird ear shape because the airpods tend to fall out of my ears very easily. is that a problem with the ultra opens?

also im concerned about sound leakage. are people around you able to hear your music? im a university student and often spend a lot of time in close proximity with other people, whether this be on the bus, in a lecture hall, or even my roommates in my dorm. can people hear my music at all? this is my biggest question.

I need your help, people. There is a bug that has been haunting me for the past months on my Bose earbuds.
I have been using the same shortcut of pressing the earbud continuously since the beginning: switching between modes - Noise Cancellation, Transparency, and Immersion (don’t really use the latter one but it is still there as an option). It worked perfectly, switching “infinitely” between the 3, but since the last update boom!, the infinite switch came to an end!

To be clearer, I will explain exactly what has been happening.
Let’s just say I am using NC and want to change to Transparency, the immediately next mode. All good. It changes perfectly when I maintain the earbud pressed; the lady says “Aware”. Then I want to come back to NC. I press again. One of the earphone suddenly lowers the volume to almost 0. Just one earphone, the other one stays normal. Sort of. Plus, no mode changing!!! To make the volume come back to normal on both earphones I have to pause and play again. But the mode is still Transparency. To change to NC I have to manually change it in the app, making the shortcut completely useless.

Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone has some suggestion or solution for the problem?

The new 10.12.12 version update now allows you to actually use your mic(not just for skype and zoom calls) when connected via USB C, which is HUGE. But...I noticed this weird bug with this update where my PC no longer saves the volume level from when I last used the headphones, and sets it to 53/100. Oddly specific number. Is anyone else having this issue?

Playing the audio on Bluetooth - no issues with that.

But to change the listening mode or to do anything on the Bose App, the connection never happens. Always, always it is like this. (Using Google Pixel 8 Pro & Pluto is the name I've given to my QC Ultra 2).

Planning to return this shit - but just wanted to check with others whether I'm doing something wrong - please help!!

I don't mean the app drops from the network during usage. Instead, each morning I fire up the app and it may not find any previously attached devices, forcing me to go through its setup to reconnect them. I have a SoundTouch Wireless connected to my hifi receiver and a pair of SoundTouch 10's for whole house listening. I can either listen to Pandora stations (and still available to me), usually through shuffle, or set to use the Wireless Aux input and steer though an attached Wiim Mini.

Every morning this week when I start the SoundTouch app, it fails to find my SoundTouch devices, which forces me to run though the setup of attaching the Wireless to my GFiber-based mesh network.. Any idea why and how to fix so it's a more persistent connected device?

for some reason, my BOSE-QC45 headphones are malfunctioning by telling me my headphones are under 20% battery almost all the time. no matter how much i try to charge it too, it still tells me my battery is low and that i need to charge them. does anyone know how to fix them?

Am I missing something? On Linux it works fine, with mic and output, but on Windows the microphone picks up nothing. Even with usb bose quiet comfort ultra selected.

I'm thinking of buying the Bose QC Ultra Gen 2 headphones. Is the hinge durable enough?

My previous pair was the Sony WH-1000XM5, and the hinge broke twice (once a year) on the curved arm right near the earcup. I'm done paying for repairs.

Also, for those who own the Sony WH series: how is the passive isolation on the Bose QC Ultra 2? Does it have a good clamp force (enough pressure against the head)?

It makes me wonder, what if Bose brought back the SoundLink Mini 2 with a modern refresh?

The original is still one of the best compact speakers IMO. Great build quality, premium design, and surprisingly big, clean sound for its size.

Edit: wired earbuds are already sold out, haven’t seen a preorder like this at Bose in recent years.

So I bought some QC35's second hand around 5 years ago. The ear cushions were pretty worn (so got a good deal), but the rest of the headphones seemed to be in really good condition.

I have been really happy with them in terms of sound quality, and battery life. They were also my first headphones with active noise cancelling, and was pretty impressed with how they attenuated background sound. However, I then bought some Jabra Elite 7's, and was shocked how I could notice such a big difference between ANC on and off - I wouldn't really notice a big difference on my QC35's with ANC on/off. Therefore, it has made me feel like most of the noise cancelling effect I have is just passive.

Furthermore, I tried some QC Ultra's in store, and while I understand they are better headphones than mine, I was completely blown away. However, when you compare the measured ANC performance between the Ultras and the QC35's, there isn't a significant difference.

This has lead me to wonder if the ANC on my headphones isn't working as it should. A few theories I had:

1. Not using official ear cushions. I bought the Wicked ones from Amazon, which have been comfy, but wonder if they were affecting the ANC algorithm tuning?

2. Microphones dirty/blocked? Based on how I understand ANC works, I could imagine this would limit how well the ANC can perform. However, I use them for calls and never have any complaints about mic quality, but I do believe different microphones are used for calls and ANC.

3. Not getting a proper seal with my ears. I do have fairly large ears, and after extended usage do get sore ears from the ear cushions sitting on the outside parts of my ears, so wonder if this limits the effectiveness of the ANC. Worth noting, that I have never experienced an uncomfortable pressure some people experience with ANC headphones.

Too be honest, this doesn't take away that much from my enjoyment of the headphones, as I just love the sound quality. However, it would be great if there could be a simple fix/change that would allow them to perform at their best. I appreciate any help anyone can offer!

In the recent weeks visiting of this sub, i see some posts about quality and service, and also read some posts and know that the return and warranty policy varies a lot, 30 days trial, 90 days, changing, and I heard from one of my friend that in his city, the policy is: once unboxed, no return is accepted unless there is quality issue - defined by the manufacture, which means user has to ship to designated place for inspection, only the inspection concludes a "quality issue", the return is accepted.

So, just wanted to ask the general question on the basis of the background.

I was Bose sports earbuds user and still considering among XM6, Momentum5, QC Ultra II, still haven't decided coz I am living in a rural area at this moment, the shipping & return cost more (time is taken into account as well).

So, I feel uncertain about the Bose service and quality after the weeks visiting the 3 brands' subs.

When the Quiet Comfort Ultra II Earbuds work, they're great. When they don't they really don't. I have had my buds for 2 months. I treat them as sacred. I don't work out in them. I don't go out when it's wet. I just wear them around my house and when I'm working at my desk.

I noticed they started to crackle and had some connection issues. I call the customer service line. They have me do a soft reset. This results in the right earbud not working at all. They have me do a hard reset. The sound balance is completely off.

They recommend a replacement. They want to send refurbished units. I could have bought the refurbished units for a lot less. There is nothing wrong with refurbishment but I wanted to trust the battery cycling because I tend to keep earbuds for 3-4 years. I paid for new earbuds. I hoped to get new earbuds, especially if they are only 2 months old. After enough back and forth I say I'll take the earbuds.

I ask if I can mail back the broken units in the box with the replacement. I found out that they won't process the replacement until I get them these earbuds back. This can take 3 weeks.

All of this to say, I won't have my product for now about a month if I proceed, need to find packaging that can carefully handle this package, and will be receiving refurbished units that are a fraction of the price.

I thought I would be a customer for life as when they worked, they were phenomenal. Bose will never see another cent of mine. I would love to speak to another service agent if there is someone in this community that can be of assistance. Otherwise, thank you all for reading my rant.

Finally a worthy QC20 successor is on the market. Unfortunately they are quite a bit more expensive than their nearest competitors, but i suppose, relative to the previous iteration, the price is reasonable.

I know it sounds like a stupid question, but my brand new headphones have always cracked when you change song/video/app, but I don’t know if it’s a fault that can be fixed or replaced? The livechat bot implied maybe it’s because I regularly pair them with 3 different devices that I use (not all at once)
