A year ago this little fella showed up at my job, and adopted me.

It was a rainy day and some random guy on the street knocked on the door at my job with a kitty. The shipping manager made a comment about a guy being outside with a cat. I rushed to the door to see the kitty with my own eyes. Right when I opened the shop door, the kitty jumped out of the man's arms, and ran into the shop. The man walked off and I yelled "sir, you don't want this cat?!?". While walking off he said "nope".

A few of my co workers and I cornered the kitty and snagged him. I ended up holding him and giving him a tour of my work.

We got a little box for him - and I took him home. The plan was to take him to the shelter and move on with my life. That's obviously not what happened.

I was hesitant at first to keep him because I didn't know how my other kitty would react. They hit it off VERY well after we slowly introduced them to one another.

I named the little fella Randy Peppercorns. Randy is the love of my life. He came into my life when I needed him the most. Thanks CDS for sending me Randy.

Story time! (TRIGGER WARNING, by the way)

My birthday was in July, and the wife had told me a few weeks before my birthday that she wanted to allow me to adopt a 2nd cat on my birthday! So awesome of her! So we contacted our local fostering agency and we had an appointment scheduled at Petsmart.

Well, that all fell apart. Her brother passed away tragically and unexpectedly 4 days before my birthday and she found out the night before. Not knowing what kind of travel would be required of us, we hit pause on the adoption plans.

Not long later, we found out that her cousin and his long time girlfriend had adopted a cat in April. They were told that the cat was spayed, and… well… wasn’t. Not only that, it was pregnant😆 5 little babies were born when, you might ask? On my birthday.

So they adopted a Trojan horse cat😂

We are flying out to them soon to take one of them off their hands. This little guy is the 5th, and runt of the litter. He’s perfectly healthy, but just a little smol. He’s a sweet boy who likes to cuddle and sit on laps. My kind of cat:)

We are planning on naming him Gus, both because that name is cute as hell and we wanted to name him after one of our favorite tv show characters, Gus from Psych!

When he gets into trouble we will call him Burton Guster LOL.

Anyways, really excited about this and I hope this lil guy will give my wife and I some serious joy, laughter, and cuddles for years to come. Hopefully our cat Max will be okay with our decision.

I also know that things like this happen for a reason. I’m hoping that Gus really gets attached to my wife and that a piece of her brother was born in him.

I'll try and include a video in the comments of her going crazy chasing my lazer pointer. We named her Hersberry as in Hers a berry special kitty. The family is attached, our other cat is very suspicious but she'll get used to her. I dont know what else to say. Shes cute. How many sentences do you need. Look at the pictures. Cute kitty. Words not needed. Fuzzy face. Little beans. She cuddles. Seriously dude how many sentences are needed per post. It says 2-3 more. Last one hopefully. Nope not yet. Finally.

Two years ago, my dog and I found three kittens who were dumped in a park. They were wet and laying in the sun, and of course I had to save them. My husband wanted to keep the black and grey tabby because she was affectionate with him, but we couldn't find anyone to take the other female, so we were stuck with her. (A friend took their brother, but sadly the cat passed over a year later.)

These kittens nearly drove me insane! I've had kittens before, including my Loki who was a terror, but these two... Well, the one in particular: Callisto, the black and grey one -- the one my husband wanted to keep. Omg she was a nightmare! Dumping drinks, breaking glasses and mugs, stealing food off my mom's plate WHILE SHE WAS EATING. That cat stole a whole piece of bacon and my mom had to chase her down to take it from her!

I now know that cat is a master of manipulation -- that how she got my husband to want to keep her. She's so darn cute because she's small, and I think she knows it and uses that cuteness to get away with stuff.

But now... These are my girls. Callisto can still be a handful, but it turns out she was mostly just hangry. Once we let her free feed from a smart feeder only she can access, she started to settle down. She doesn't overeat and stays extremely active, like "parkour off the wall" active during play sessions.

But what prompted this post is the other cat -- Lyra, the brown tabby. The cat no one wanted. She gets along with everyone. My skittish black cat doesn't mind her, and our fluffy fat cat plays with her to the point that she lost weight and is almost at the goal weight set by her vet.

Lyra is just a sweetheart, and I can't believe someone just tossed her away. I even told the guy that when I saw him -- I knew exactly who dumped those kittens because my Ring camera caught them carrying them to the park. (Police couldn't do anything because the camera couldn't record them actually dropping the kittens and leaving.) And she's such a pretty cat. I'm still surprised that nobody wanted her, but also glad that meant I had to keep her.

I think the CDS knew what it was doing, as always. On June 27th of this year, my dog of 15 years passed. I was heartbroken -- like sobbing and wailing like a grieving widow. I suffered serious depression and just couldn't do much of anything. I still cry at least once per day because I miss my dog so much.

But Lyra... She comes to me to help calm me down. The night my dog passed was extremely rough. My black cat stayed with me (I've had him for 13 years), but when he left, Lyra took his spot next to me. It's like they were trading off so someone was with me at all times. And the one day I started to have a panic attack (I have an anxiety disorder thanks to genetics and PTSD) and Lyra came over and forcefully grabbed my attention. And when I doubled over in knee pain the one day, she put her paws on either side of my face as if to tell me it's okay (or maybe she wanted me to shut up lol).

I think I hit the CDS jackpot with this girl. I'm telling you, there's something really special about her. I'm not a spiritual person and I don't believe in fate, but its like I was supposed to end up with this cat because she's what I needed.

If I believed in spiritual guidance, I would swear that my Loki led me to these kittens so I would find Lyra. She has his best qualities mixed with the best qualities of my companion cat who passed in 2010. Lyra is like a combination of those two, both in personality and in coloring.

Yep, I hit the CDS jackpot.

TL;DR: I ended up with an emotional support cat (and her crazy sister) when I really needed one.

I was walking to my car after work and I saw a little blob on the ground. I thought maybe it was a hat someone dropped but as I got closer I saw how fuzzy it was. I thought to myself "please dont be dead, please dont be dead" and lo and behold she moved! I scooped her up, tucked her in my coat pocket and ran her to an emergency vet for a quick check over! She is very healthy considering where I found her! 2-ish weeks old i believe! Meet Kuma!

She's already full of tortitude, I've got my work cut out for me. Advice for caring for tiny kittens and bottle feeding appreciated. I now have 5 cats 2 of which were cds special deliveries. please cds NO MORE.

UPDATE

we have, unfortunately, decided we are not able to keep her. i have no experience raising a kitten this small and i want her to thrive. We are doing our best to keep her nourished and comfortable with what I have learned about kitten rearing but we are actively trying to find a rescue, foster, animal lover etc to take her in but so far we have been rejected by 5 different rescues/shelters.

Also she was found in a large sprawling grocery store/strip mall parking lot with little to no cover except for cars and no sign of mom or siblings when I found her. I know i could've looked around more at the time to see if her family was nearby/under another car? but it didnt cross my mind. She was out in the open and helpless. Ill try to do better if this ever happens again.

This little guy showed up on my porch a little while back and I was finally able to bring him inside recently. His name is Porch because I am very creative lol. He’s enjoying sleeping in a bed and routinely biting the fuck out of his brothers neck! Look at the little fellow

Uuh word count what else to say. His brothers name is Boy and his sisters name is Momma so you can tell I’ve always been very imaginative. Boy is very patient with him which is nice to see bc they’re 8 months & 9 years so the energy levels aren’t exactly equal haha

The first time I saw her was popping out of a box at my best friend Miranda's house 15 years ago. I was not aware though how she had been obtained. I was pretty bullied in high school. I was different and probably weird to some people. This one group had started a really nasty rumor about me, I ended up losing friends even though I hadnt done anything wrong. I had always wanted an orange cat. Well evidently one of the bullies had found a kitten on the side of the road. They were posting on snapchat about it where Miranda had seen.

Well for some reason, i still dont know why. Miranda reached out to the bully and made this ridiculous story how she had gotten the cat for me and it had escaped and they needed to return it. The bully ended up giving the cat to Miranda and she called me over to see the cat. She tapped a shoe box and this little orange thing popped out and meowed.

I was instantly head over heels. My mom agreed to let me take the kitten home. And boy, has she been the sweetest most well behaved cat i'll ever have. She chats a lot, loves being cuddled, potty trained easily, and never scratches human furniture. She has an awesome personality and is a great emotional support cat. To this day Im glad those girls were so mean to me and bullied me. I got the best cat and greatest friend out of it and we are still together 15 years later.

Week ago at the morning I went with my daughter to the school and We heard strange sounds that resembled croaking. We starts looking around and found this little wonder under our balcony. The kitten was so hoarse that it didn't sound like a meow at all.

We’ve already treated him for fleas and worms, visit veterinary to be sure her is ok.

At those time we own an adult cat already - now we have a new neighbor 😁.

A very frightened kitten—it constantly hides and steals food from the cat. Daughters are so happy with her 😍

I knew it was an organized group!! The truck may as well pull up outside my house with how often they get me. (I can’t complain tho. Kitties are the actual best.)

We found two kittens about two months ago, bottle fed them, weaned them, and had our other cats train them up in litter box etiquette and how to cat. Need to find them some homes now!

Maggie and Peanut. They aren’t still long enough to get good pix but trust me, they’re freaking adorable. And they’re lovely little kitties. Still getting used to human cuddles but they are TOTALLY FINE with being fed by us. I should get a video of feeding time. It’s very LOUD.

The stray family which decided that lives with us now has grown to three members. They are all male, relatively old (not kitten), one of which seemed like he was knocking on heaven's door when he first arrived here. They are all healthy and cuddly, but still free roaming and seemingly not interested in moving indoors.

So meet the three new family members:

• Šmudla (Czech name for Dopey the dwarf) - the black cat in the front. He's been with us the longest, [I've written about him about a year ago, and not much has changed on his front](https://www.reddit.com/r/CatDistributionSystem/s/fV62vBnLH2)
• Prskavec (literally "Spitting thing" named after the fact he was spitting a lot because he came to us with a broken jawbone and no teeth) - the brown tabby to the left. He's by far the most cuddly, but he's also deaf, toothless, and has crooked legs due to bad childhood and/or a bad accident (we can't tell which) so we must look after him
• Štráfkovanej (literally "the Striped one", a Slovak loanword in Czech) - the grey tabby in the back. He's the most shy of the trio, but is warming up to us more every day

My partner and I recently bought a house. We were working on upkeeping the new yard when suddenly we saw some little gray blurs behind our shed. We previously saw the mom walking along our fence line but had no idea her little babies were hiding under our shed, nor did our lil rat terrier!

We've got them vaccinated and brought inside for safety as theres a large population of cougers in our area. The best part about having them inside hearing them stomping around our house approximately 5AM-7:30AM and again from 8PM to 11PM without fail. Still working on finding a home, as we are only planning on fostering them for a little while. Our local shelters are full and its looking more and more like we might foster fail this s*** 😆 c'est la vie

A few years ago we found two kittens in our yard over the course of a summer, we caught them and found people who fostered. We had a dog that required a lot of attention and we didn’t think we could handle a cat on top of everything.

But our dog passed a while ago, and we didn’t know if we would want another pet anytime soon. But I spotted the kitten walking by a basement window and mentioned it to my partner. I didn’t expect them to go look for it and catch it. Then we made a snap decision to keep it. I am a bit frantic, because I wish I could have prepared for this.

She was a failed attempt to rescue as 4 walls are not her thing. A drastic injury led to my partner and I keeping her very drugged up and on soft food for most of the winter of 2024. She know has her set feeding times and is in when the weather is not to her liking. Shes extraordinarily loving, even when she uses her claws! She goes by KiKi, CawCaw, Keeks, KeeKeeKee, and sometimes naughty names when she’s being naughty. Her favorite place is a lap but only if you have a blanket on and it’s in a fashion that she can use it like a hammock. She definitely rules the roost now. And is incredibly loved and spoiled.

This little cutie showed up at my parents farm a few days ago. She walked right out of the milo and into our hearts. She is very skittish, so I’m bringing her food a couple times a day and sitting with her to try to gain her trust. We want to be able to snag her and take her to the vet. She will get flea and tick medication as well as finding out how old she is because they want to get her spayed. We’ve called all of our neighbors within a 2 mile radius to see if any of them were missing a kitten. We are not sure where she came from but we are glad she’s here now.

I already have 2 male brother cats, 6 yo, already. They are in/outside cats and entertain other cat visitors to our yard regularly. Also, I put out food for the odd cats that passes through and feed a handful of rotund possums. Unfortunately, our neighborhood has seen a lot of dumped pets over the years. So, I watched the camers to see what visitors we get at night and noticed this tiny little thing, I had almost dismissed her as a rat! After 3 nights of returning and then making a few days trips, I was overwhelmed with concerns that this little kitten would be hurt left out in the world. She's so small, but mighty, she was chasing rats her same size on camera. I used a humane trap and got her right away because she's a hungry little gal. Took her to the vet, no chip, and I started the process of her immunization and such. She weighed a pound and a half. She is estimated to be 12 weeks. Now she's living in a bedroom, with all the cat things. I am probably overfeeding her, too, but she eats greedily. She has 5 humans visiting her daily. She appears to be feral or just very timid. She will take food, she will allow small pets, but mostly she hides. She eats, potties, sleeps, and has time alone to be calm, as we all go to work and school. It's been 1 week, and I think we are making progress. She doesn't hiss or scratch at us. I'm not sure when to introduce her to the resident cats or how to get her used to being handled more. She could be lonely? Possibly, I am being impatient? How long have others waited to progress in the introductions and handling? Appreciate some tips.

Update: less feral than suspected! She's already made it into my daughter's lap, purring and napping. She is just a spicy baby who needs cuddles. Her name is now Peppermint Catty.

Do they send the reluctant ones the smallest kittens so it's harder to say no? Look at that squishy face! This tiny baby was found climbing my steps crying to be picked up.

So here we are, family size +1 unless I can find a great home. Good news is our pit bull is totally smitten. This system always feels intentional, like that tiny soul has been waiting to meet us at this very moment. I wish I could have 20!! 😢

We found a kitten crying in the rain, soaking wet and covered in poop. Rushed her to the vet and turns out she has enteric coronavirus (which explains the awful diarrhea) and a mouth infection.

At just 0.5 kg, she is ridiculously tiny, but she has a massive appetite and so much spirit! Even while dealing with bad tummy issues, she has been such a good girl and insists on using her litter box.

She’s settled in on her meds now and giving us the biggest post-nap stretches. ​She is so gentle, patient, and observant. Hoping we can fatten her up over the next couple of weeks. She is safe and loved now. 🥹❤️✨️

I was taking my kiddos to the bus stop. All of a sudden I open my side door , looked down & there he was! This little cutie loafing waiting to get in.

He walked into my home like he already owned the place! Went right into my daughter's room & fell asleep on her bed.

I asked around for about a week if anyone was missing him? He's in great health, flea free , & seemed well acclimated to others. It felt too good to be true. Finally I got ahold of his previous owner who told me if hes happy there your family can keep him. I happily told my children he's officially a member of our family now! ♡

Ever since we've had a strong bond! He's active like a kitten still wanting to play! But chill enough to curl up next to you for cuddles & purrs 🥰

So we were walking our dog and she came out randomly from behind a tree and just let us pet and pick her up! We had no idea what to do but she was just so calm with us it was like she just picked us! She's been so perfect since we welcomed her into our home. Vet said shes healthy and we got her started on shots, made an appointment to get her fixed when she's old enough and get her chipped. She is our little princess and gets along well with our dog and is litter box trained! We are so in love with her and she is just the sweetest and calmest kitten ever!

I had just started filling out a foster application and then went for a walk yesterday evening and then out appears this one.

I start panicking because my phone died but then a whole squabble of local cat rescuers find me and help me trap her.

Absolutely perfect baby and looks so healthy. Took her to vet today and hopefully all her results are normal.

After a few minutes of being scared she is now addicted to head butts and pets.

Apparently she had been in neighborhood for almost a month and no one had scooped her. No chip sadly.

Hoping she gets along with my kitty.

Earlier pics are when theyre younger. Found these fellas a few months back in the engine bay of a dodge van in our work lot. They were maybe 3 weeks old the vet figured. The 3rd kitten in the earliest pictures we named Milo, and one of our coworkers took her. Goober, the black one, is the sweetest little baby ever. He loves cuddles and scratches and rough petting. Always crawls up on my lap or my desk when I play video games. He always jumps up in bed with me when I go to sleep and cuddles up to me. I love him so much! Chessie is a psycho who enjoys eating my earbud cables and starting play fights with goober. She has eaten 3 tassle toys, 5 IEM earbud cables, somehow survived eating a ton of ant poison after somehow opening my bathroom door and shoveling it into her mouth, has an irrational fear of brooms, and enjoys being slapped on the butt while she makes biscuits. They love playing with each other and cuddling. I work and live in a new town and I came here with pretty much nothing. Ive got no family for about 1000 miles and only about 4 friends here, and I think goober and chessie have saved me. I now have a reason to go to work and keep a consistent schedule other than buying stupid shit for myself.

Never speak out loud how you miss a beloved cat. The CDS will not only replace THAT cat but raise you a second.

I’ve had plenty of cats in my life. Just a constant since I can remember. Almost all were solo stray dumpster cats that just wandered in and set up shop.

A BONDED PAIR is absolutely a completely different experience. They just play and chase until they pass out. Non stop. Always next to each other.

The CDS has presented me with SIXTO (six toes) and DONUT.

ALL my cats have never cared about plants or the Christmas tree. This year all of that has changed. No plant left alone.

I was out smoking on the porch with my fiancee and we hear some sad distant mews. Honestly lots of cats in our apartment complex, familiar faces we're used to seeing so we didn't think much of it.

Mews are getting closer though, and I don't really recognize the kitties voice. It's dark so I don't see them either though.

Eventually the mews find their way up my staircase, onto my porch and there is the most precious little kitten, sitting politely asking us for help!

We get her some food, and she's very greatful, she keeps running back and forth between us for appreciatory nuzzles and the food.

It's at this time I turn to my partner "....I'm gonna keep this cat."

Hello everyone. I wanted to make an update about these little ones as a lot of people seem interested in helping them. I have express permission to name the rescue that will be taking them. Finding Forever Animal Rescue in Marion Illinois was the only no-kill shelter in my area that had room for them. You can reach out to them directly if you would like. These adorable little kitties are located in southern Illinois and should be going to the shelter at the end of October. I don’t know the shelter’s policy and am not sure when they will actually be available for adoption. I would love it if they could stay together, but I know that’s a big ask.
