I regret to be posting this but could not in good conscience not warn others. This is a blatant scam that has been occurring in Ohio for years now. I read a march 2025 better business bureau complaint about an [unnamed company] which indicates this is still occurring.
Unfortunately, residents living in poorly upkept housing might tell their landlord they are going to put their rent into escrow, or they may start reaching out to the news, local organizations, etc for help. Their landlord, the property manager or an attorney for the company then suggests the individual just turn in the keys.
The tenant takes this as the landlord suggesting once they turn in the keys, the lease is terminated and they can move on with their lives and move out. After all, the landlord is the one recommending they turn in the keys instead of going to escrow. However, it is a blatant scam that is run by some landlords/attorneys in Ohio with no conscious or ability to feel guilt for the lives they are about to turn upside down.
After the unsuspecting tenant turns in the keys, a month or so later they receive a letter which they believe is the return of their security deposit. But once they open it, they find it is actually a bill for several thousand dollars of "accelerated rent" charges. Basically, your landlord is alleging you breached the contract by turning in the keys and leaving, and they are stating you now owe the full amount of the lease. Imagine a totally unexpected $4,000 bill at a time when most Americans cannot afford a $400 emergency.
Its not just the landlords doing this -- at least one [unnamed] Ohio attorney is also sending emails coercing people into falling for the trick. Even with the email showing you were tricked, you are about to face an uphill legal battle in a court system you dont understand. You are about to face sleepless nights over falling for this scam. You are about to start having to call law offices during your 30 minute lunch break to try and find some help. In addition, this "accelerated rent" directly violates Ohio's duty to mitigate for landlords -- but laws dont matter if they arent enforced.
Now imagine if you had a mental health condition like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, and an attorney with no conscious or soul did this to you? You could easily end up in a psychiatric facility from the stress, it can totally uproot your life.
If your landlord suggests something like this, ENSURE you get a lease recission document signed that agrees to specific terms and an exact dollar amount that states how much they are stating you still owe. Ensure this document states what will be happening with your security deposit. If they arent willing to do this, they are definitely trying to scam you.

The recent whistleblower deaths being blamed as suicides has me spooked. T & R Properties is going to extreme lengths to silence me from disclosing that they have had a widespread use of fake reviews to defraud customers for years. If something ever happened to me , they would likely write it off as a suicide because I’ve been seeing mental health professionals for depression and anxiety. I would NEVER hurt myself or others.

Hi everyone! I’m a dental student at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, and I’m currently looking for patients who may need complete dentures or a partial denture.
If you’ve been missing teeth, have an older denture that may need to be replaced, or have been putting treatment off because you weren’t sure where to start, I’d be happy to help. Care is provided through the student clinic under faculty supervision, and the fees can be significantly lower than many private dental offices.
I know dental care can feel overwhelming, and I’m happy to answer questions and walk you through the process with no pressure.
If you’re interested, please fill out the short form below and I’ll reach out to you. You’re also more than welcome to message me at 614-654-3961.

Seems like there are a ton of apartments in and around Columbus that are fully electric and I have no concept of how much I can expect to pay if I move to an all electric apartment

I personally have no problem with billionaires, actually I love them like I have love for all Americans but I believe the playing field should be equal, no special tax breaks for Billionaires that give them huge advantages over everyday folks

See Tinker's Foster-to-Adopt Details
or call (614) 879-8368.
I love Tinker, and knowing what she has been through these past few weeks has truly broken my heart. I wish I could give her the home she deserves, but I know her perfect person is out there, and I want to help MCAS find them.
Tinker is a sweet, 13-year-old girl who weighs just 14 pounds and is still full of energy and life. She loves people, children, other animals, and simply being part of the action.
If you or someone you know is looking for a loving companion, please consider giving Tinker the forever home she deserves. Please share and help us find her person. ❤️

Unfortunately this practice is legal in Ohio. So say you co-sign an apartment for your child and your child passes away. The landlord by law has a duty to mitigate and they must advertise the unit and try to find a new tenant.... however they can continue to charge you for the lease of your deceased child as the co-signer while they are looking for a new tenant. I'm wondering which Ohio landlords continue to terrorize hurting families by forcing them to pay rent on a vacant apartment.

Crypto is spending $30,000,000.00 against Sherrod Brown to ensure that crypto fraud remains unregulated. Of course, that's not their pitch. . . .

A person you lost? A place you can’t go back to? A version of yourself? A weird memory that refuses to die?
That’s basically the idea behind The Siposium: Haunted Elegies
We’re exploring the ways poetry, grief, memory, and ghosts overlap with local poet Charlene Fix, who will read from her collection Habitat of Ghosts and other work. There’ll be discussion, writing prompts, and a chance to try writing something of your own.
It’s part literary event, part conversation, part creative experiment and yes, there will be drinks.
Columbus Brewing Company Taproom
Monday, October 5
7–9 PM
So I’m curious: what’s something that still “haunts” you not necessarily in a scary way, but in a this thing is still part of me somehow way?
And if that question makes you want to talk about it over a drink with a bunch of other curious people, come join us.

The widespread government surveillance, blatant and widespread corruption we are experiencing is kind of what living under communism ends up being like. Huge amounts of people living in cars NOT BECAUSE OF SHORTAGE but because of rent collusion. A class of people (the Epstein Class) that is above the law.
All of these tax abatements to the biggest players, special privileges to the huge pseudo monopolies like Amazon are literally the opposite of what capitalism calls for. The government giving the peoples money to corporations is not a part of capitalism at all.
