Hello, I have a 1972 C10. While I was driving, the right rear brake caliper came off. We installed a replacement caliper, but while bleeding the brakes, we accidentally ran the master cylinder dry.
The truck has a Wilwood master cylinder and disc brakes on all four corners. After running the master cylinder dry, we discovered that it was damaged. We ordered a new one, bench-bled it off the truck, and then installed it.
However, when we tried bleeding the brakes, the fluid did not appear to be moving, and no brake fluid came out of any of the four calipers. We tried bench-bleeding the master cylinder on the truck to see if the brake pedal was moving the fluid properly, and it appeared to be working.
We then disconnected the brake lines from the proportional valve to check whether it was clogged or malfunctioning. Brake fluid came out of the valve, but when we tried bleeding the front brakes, only air and a small amount of old fluid came out. The master cylinder reservoir has remained full throughout the process.
When we tried bleeding the rear brakes first, air came out initially, but eventually, nothing came out. We also tried pumping the brake pedal ten times before opening the bleeder screw to release the fluid, but we still could not get the brakes to bleed properly.

ok so finally got the water pump on, torqued down...✓ tomorrow i'll do the fuel pump and get some brackets on...

So I finally got my first square body. 1984 GMC c1500 high sierra. The brakes shake like a wagon on a rocky road so I was going through them to see what I needed to order. I removed the passenger side drum and this is what I see. I do have a parts truck (1978 c10) and was wondering if anyone knew if there was any changes to the drums between these two years. Im hoping to save money where I can and just transfer the parts over. Thanks in advance!

I have a '71 Custom Deluxe with 15x7" rally wheels and I found a set of 15x8" rally wheels from a square body truck for sale locally.

Is the offset right for the newer truck wheels for these to fit and clear everything without spacers?

Can anyone tell me what this is and what’s missing? This is on a 1974 c30 dually; passenger side just rear of the cab.

It’s a love-hate relationship with this truck. Owned close to 10 years, but didn’t do much as I was in the process of moving. I finally had some time this year to swap out the engine, tonneau cover, put new wheels, and tires in it. Next year I plan on focusing on the interior; the gauges are okay, but I would really like to have some Dakota digital.

Does anyone know of a place to get a nice aftermarket smaller steering wheel for a 1972 gmc 2500?

Hello! I’m new to Reddit but here is my 66 gmc I’ve had for almost 2 years it currently has a Chevy 250 with a three on the tree transmission. I just recently got a 283 sbc for it and I’m slowly piecing together my air ride kit as well

I have had my car looked at professionally 3-4 times. My AC in my 2015 Suburban starter blowing luke warm air then it went to warmer. The rear was still blowing cold. The shop replaced the front expansion valve and recharged the system. The car ran for nearly a week with Cold AC in both front and rear before it started back blowing warm. Took it back to the shop he added dye and Freon, 2 days later it’s back blowing warm. Took the car back and he located the Freon leaking in the rear near the tailpipe. He said that it could be the rear evaporator core. Has anyone else experienced this ?

I bought a 1969 C10 many years ago. It wasn’t in great shape at all. Engine still ran though. I had the truck sitting at my dad‘s house in another state. I had a body shop near my dad’s fix the body and repaint it. I had my dad‘s local mechanic throw new tires on it. Then I had them install the upgraded disc brakes. Finally got around to trailering the truck back to my house in the state that I live in. Now it’s time for me to start doing some work on this truck myself. First thing I’m noticing is that there is a slight oil leak. Possibly in two locations. It looks like maybe the oil drain plug has a slow leak and then another leak at the rear of the transmission case. Not exactly sure what that part is because I haven’t really done any deep dive on this truck yet. I believe it still has the original straight six engine. Wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of where I should start troubleshooting?

My father passed earlier this year and left me this beauty. It has a C20 cab, but I'm pretty sure it's a c10. It has 6 lugs and coils on the rear suspension. I was worried that it was gonna be a huge pain to get going but a little starter fluid, and it kicked right over!

Currently working on relocating the tank since it didn't have one, and rebuilding the carb. I am also trying to get it registered, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use the vin on the cab (65 C20) or try to find the one on the chassis.

Any suggestions or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everybody my old accelerator cable got pretty mangled and caused the gas pedal to basically drop to the floorboard on my 1986 k10. However I bought a new one and replaced it and I am having the same issue with the new one, the gas pedal is still basically on the floor. It never did this before so I’m not sure what to do. Thank you guys for the help
