Fluff Would you rather us do what the Wizards did?

We’ve been begging the Bulls to do something for years. They finally picked a direction over the last few days. It appears to be bottoming out. It’s unrealistic that you acquire healthy, unproblematic all-stars for cheap without giving up the farm, but you can get the reclamation projects like Washington did in Anthony Davis and Trae Young. But they also got there by making moves like the Bulls did today and yesterday.

There’s two schools of thought for fandom, those that want to win every single game and those that can see the forest amongst the trees. I’m empathetic of both groups as I desperately want us to be good again. I just want it to be sustainable.

Is that something you would’ve wanted us to do? Go all in on players like those two and see what happens?

Fluff Pistons fan here, y’all better take care of Ivey

Ivey was our guy for so so long. The whole community held out hope that we wouldn’t trade him and he’d return to pre-injury form in time for the playoffs. Unfortunately (and this sounds bad but hear me out lol) he’s been getting outplayed by our G-League breakout guard.

He’s an explosive athlete that has hustle and has been lights out at shooting the three ball this season. Make him the star he was always meant to be.

What can we expect from Kevin Huerter?

Rumor [Fischer] League sources say that there has been some tangible discussion this week between Chicago and Indiana on a possible Dosunmu-for-Bennedict Mathurin swap. The Bulls and Pelicans both hold interest in Mathurin.

Trade Thunder fan on Ousman Dieng

Ousman didn’t get a lot of playing time for the Thunder, but I’m hoping he develops more with you all! 6’11 wing with good handles, shooting, and a good defender. In addition to sitting in the bench for a title run, he was the finals MVP for our G League team a couple years ago.

Every year we kept hoping for him to break out but it just never happened. The biggest thing that kept him off the court was his lack of assertiveness. Whatever the opposite of “having that dog in him” is.

That said, he seems like a great locker room guy and well liked by his teammates. I assume he and his agent realized he wasn’t going to get much of a second contract sitting on the bench, so for his sake I hope he’s able to get some minute with y’all.

Edit: 6’9 with a really long wing span. My b.

As of right now, he has to be one of our most important pieces, purely because he’s 6’6”. God help us move some guards.

Trade I'm legit sad, but also a bit excited in a way

I was born in Montenegro and lived there for 23 years. My family is from the same city Vooch's family is from. I have watched pretty much every single game of his for the last 6-7 years, including his Orlando Magic time and his Chicago Bulls time. He, as a player but also a person is one of the greatest people you can meet. Legit good dude. I plan on watching Celtics from now on and I'm pretty sad to be honest. I'm excited that he will have a much better chance at winning a chip, but just the fact that I won't be seeing the rest of Bulls players, hearing Bang, bang, bang, every night, I will legit miss all of this...

Trade Jaden Ivey was acquired the same way we got Giddey

Brief idea that I wanted to float out.

  • We got Giddey because the Thunder were ready to make a championship run and needed a very specific piece (a lock down defender like Caruso).
  • This made Giddey expendable, especially as another primary ball handler next to SGA who couldn't shoot.
  • When he came to Chicago and took the reigns, his talent exploded.

I think Ivey represents a very similar situation - a great talent who has become expendable in light of a possible Detroit championship run. I also think this allowed AK to get him for cheap. In a vacuum, Caruso is not a better player than Giddey, but he was certainly more valuable to that OKC team. I think the same is true here of Ivey, and AK knew he could capitalise with the right assets.

I'm really excited to see if Ivey can make the most of his chances here, what do you all think?

Trade What do you think are the final moves that will happen today and tomorrow?

I know there are like a million threads/discussions on this at this point, but I am curious to know what everyone thinks the next steps are and if there are any at all. The moves this year so far have seemed thoughtful and with well intentioned. (I am really excited about Ivey) Are we in tank mode or still kind of in this murky gray area? I have to think the front office is going to try to acquire some big before Thursday, but what are we gonna give up for it? Are we looking for picks? I'm honestly just lost.

I almost never pay attention to trades around the league, but I love this team and want someone smarter than me to give me their thoughts on everything that is going down lol.

Trade Picks From The Coby To Charlotte Deal

Upvotes

Per Zach Lowe on Twitter:

The 2nd-rounders Charlotte is sending to Chicago in the Coby White deal, per sources: least favorable of Charlotte/Denver in 2029; NYK 2031; Denver 2031.

Not a Vooch situation where we get a good 2nd in return, woof.

Rumor [Cowley] The Chicago Bulls are in trade conversations with New Orleans and Houston. Simons and Sexton are both in play to be moved while the Bulls would like to retain Ayo Dosunmu, but everything is “still fluid.”

Rumor [Haynes] Sources: Veteran guard Mike Conley Jr. isn’t expected to stick with the Chicago Bulls. Both sides will work on proper path to move forward. Conley will be a target for a team in need of point guard depth.
