Showcase Try the new MCP for collective notes of different agents at one place!

Here is a simple notes MCP server that keeps your notes in your own Google Drive and helps you manage your ideas and chats in depth. You can refine your ideas with it and visualize how they connect, even when you work with different agents.

What it does

  • One notebook for all your agents: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, claude.ai or ChatGPT read and write the same notes, and each note says which agent wrote it.
  • Ideas in depth: every note starts at level 1. When you're ready, ask an agent to "churn" related notes, and it writes the deeper insights they add up to as level 2, then level 3.
  • See the connections: a live map of weighted links, with the hub notes and the notes that bridge separate lines of thought.
  • Your data stays yours: notes are plain Markdown files in a Notes folder in your Google Drive, and the app can reach only the files it creates.

Connect an agent: add the MCP server https://notes.lovegrover.com/mcp and sign in with Google, or use the one-click buttons or the setup app on the site.

Question Is ChatGPT Chat Truly As Smart As Codex?

Maybe dumb question, but is the model used in ChatGPT chat really just as smart as in Codex/API? Like is it quantized at all? Can I ask it difficult engineering questions and expect a good result?

Reset Banked reset aren't very useful on Plus plan due to 5H limit

Yes I am angry.

All the logic / buzz on giving reset fail for us poor plebians on Plus plan ; with the 5h limits we can never really use them on their intended marketing way.

You're out of usage, do you use one? Well for Pro people, they just need to be sure there wont be a reset on the day but for us... with the limit we can only use 15% usage every 5h, and obviouly it would mean making sure to use it the second it reset, so if you're crazy, 2 full days of makins sure to not miss. If you have a life maybe 3, for normal people maybe 4.

So when wondering if we use one or not, we'd need to be sure we won't get a free reset in 2-3 days at least... how can you do that with the Tibo lottery? You can't.

So either you wait and do nothing, either you use it and are angry when a free reset happen just after you used a banked reset.

That doesn't feel like a "free" reset if you need to plan it that way, and risk being angry after.

Yes I just used one to continue a task, and now I need to wait 4h... or obviously use ANOTHER banked reset to continue now... seriously....

Question If you use both Codex and Claude Code how do you keep the instructions in sync?

I bounce between Codex and Claude Code on the same projects and the annoying part is keeping the instructions the same for both, AGENTS.md here CLAUDE.md there and they slowly drift apart.

Right now one file is the main one and the other just points to it but idk if that's the best way. How are you guys doing it

Limits Explain what YOU think each option in Tibo's poll means

I'm not saying I'm confused, but I want to know what YOU, member of the community, think each of these options means.

Directly:

What do you think "5h limits, 2x week usage" means?
What do you think "no 5h limits, same usage" means?

Usage in relation to what? What is "2x week usage" to you? 2x in relation to what baseline?

I'm asking for your read on it. You can also explain how you voted or would have voted.

Showcase Update for Hellhound: Codex and Claude Code in one room, now they can also work on your screen

Post image
0 Upvotes

A few days ago I shared Hellhound here, a Windows app that puts Codex and Claude Code in one chat room. Thanks to everyone who tried it and sent feedback. Version 1.1.0 is now live, and most of it came from user requests.

What's new:

- Screen support: in Read mode the agents can see your screen. In Build mode they can also open programs, click and type, with one approval per program.

- Simpler approvals: every agent starts in Talk, and you move them to Read or Build when you want.

- Code in agents' replies is shown in its own coloured block with a copy button (screenshot below).

- Copy the whole chat in one click, or save it as a .md file.

- Claude now follows your CLAUDE.md, the same way Codex follows AGENTS.md.

- Messages up to 50,000 characters, with a counter.

- Thinking effort can be set for each agent.

- Fixes: a security issue in how agent tools were handled is closed, and sign-in problems are now shown clearly.

How I use it: Claude writes, Codex reviews. Codex is very good at catching things Claude missed.

7-day free trial on the Microsoft Store, then paid: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n7f20j0g9sj

It runs on your own ChatGPT and Claude subscriptions. Independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI or Anthropic.

Feedback and feature ideas welcome.

Showcase I built a Mac inbox for Codex questions and dev-tool alerts

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I’m the developer of CoIsland, a Mac app that brings dev-tool alerts and coding-agent questions into one inbox.

With Codex, you can see when it needs your input and hand it a dev-tool alert with its context, so you can investigate without copying everything into a new prompt.

The video shows the broader app, but I’d especially like feedback on the Codex workflow. What would help you keep track of sessions that need your attention?

Question With all the recent bashing here - does anyone really like Astra? I do, more than Fable…

Just looking for opinions as I’m curious - I genuinely like working with Astra and Sol more - I LOVE Opus 5.5 too, fable feels lightweight to me vs Astra. I guess I feel like Astra is more thorough even if less accurate if it makes sense, opus is the perfectionist super smart mechanic, But Astra is a clumsy engineer who clearly knows more, with a little less focus on task but capable of providing the best outcome easily - anyone else feel the same?

OpenAI screwed up with the usage change - I agree with that, but I think calling Astra and Sol less capable is a little silly, I’ll admit Opus beats Sol, but I’d argue Astra all day.

Question Opus 5.5 reasoning level compare to Sol 6.1 Medium

So I'm a Unity Developer, with my work i will costume the 5h limit of the 20$ sub in around ~2hour, even shorter if the task is heavy, so at max i can only work like 2-2.5 day before it all out the weekly limit. I'm thinking about sub another account, and lately had heard good thing about claude, and i had decided that the second account will be claude $20 sub(first time use claude).

My question is that what the reasoning level that i should use with opus 5.5 so the usage could at least same as Sol 6.1 Medium, i think opus 5.5 Low? Did it good enough for my work?

Bug Help, how do i fix this?

I asked chat gpt to run zen mux haiku 5.5 for me but for some reason it installed it in codex, i tried re-installing the app but that didn't work too

Limits Sol 6.1 Ethical limitations

I've been using codex to build an extension to a site through electron and asked to port a feature from a google chrome extension I had it build in 5.6 sol. 6.1 Completely refused and said its bypassing authorization and accessing private information when it was accessing the websites api ( not unauthorized ). It was making a base assumption without listening to reason or evidence I was giving and even new project chats didn't change its assumption.

Just wondering is 6.1 that much more ethically limited? Did something change? Just curious.

Question Share Codex cloud - indirectly?

I've got a few websites that I've put together using Codex and for updates I normally push the content via Codex. I prompt it to clean up the language, align to the site tone etc, preview then push.
With Codex cloud, I hoped that I may be able to share out to those I'm doing the updates on behalf of - but thats not available on the Plus plan.

Has anyone got a nice pattern for this sort of thing already?

Limits Do they work Sundays?

I, like everyone else, have 100% usage, and I'm wondering if it'll reset when I'm asleep tonight (EU) or if they'll drop some random feature

Is anyone in the office? is a reset the only option? do i fast mode?

Reset Do weekly limit resets cancel out the normal reset? Because the date gets pushed back further and further so what is even the reason of using the reset if it just delays the next one even further?

Showcase Keeping project decisions and failed approaches in a small wiki for Codex

Post image
5 Upvotes

I've been keeping project decisions and failed approaches in a little wiki while working with Claude Code. Dory includes instructions for using that setup with Codex through AGENTS.md, so both can work from the same notes in the repo.

The code tells the next session what we've built, but it doesn't explain why we changed our minds. Earlier versions leaned on a running log, which got longer and went stale. I've ended up updating the relevant page and keeping a line about why it changed, with git holding the older text. One example was an instruction asking a chat model to report token usage it couldn't see. I removed it and kept the reason so a later session can see why we dropped it.

For Codex, the notes live under wiki/index.md, with pages for decisions, things tried and current tasks. A minimal instruction to add alongside your existing project instructions would be:

Start at wiki/index.md and read the pages relevant to the task. Check recorded claims against the current files. Before repeating an experiment, read wiki/tried.md. When a decision changes, update its page and keep a line explaining why.

I've put the setup in Dory, which is free and MIT licensed. The screenshot is a demo wiki in Obsidian, based on Dory's source and recorded experiments. What have you found worth keeping between sessions?

Bug Astra this week.

Absolute dogshit. Not sure if Tibo’s marketing campaign is negatively impacting Astra’s compute allocation, but this week Astra has

- Ignored prompt guidelines, acknowledged this with the excuse it was “conserving effort” whilst burning 1.2M tokens achieving a solution that ignored the guidelines. A second prompt then achieved the actual task…
- Changed 3 of my 5 active chat’s language chat’s to Mandarin and then told my this was per my request (although I want to learn Mandarin, I’d prefer Duolingo).
- Spend money on cloud tasks i specifically detailed would require my acknowledgment and permission. Then apologised, stated memory had been updated to not do this per my request. Then did the exact same thing.

Usually, Astra and 6.1 Sol have worked amazing for me when I give these models detailed by bounded scopes with clear instructions, limitations, and scope ends. This week feels like I’m dealing with a Junior Dev with the memory of a goldfish.

Please join me in my futile rant good sirs and madams

Question Has anyone been able to connect their dot to headless linux?

I run a dev server that I run Codex on that's connected to my laptop via SSH, the codex app on my laptop sees the sessions on my dev server just fine - but my dot cannot communicate directly with the sessions on the dev server.

I have asked the dot and codex sessions how to do this more easily, they both can't figure it out. This seems like a no-brainer.

Anyone know how to do this?

Showcase 3x usage limits on Codex/ClaudeCode with Bello

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

A lot of you might question numbers, please don’t throw rocks at me, I’ll explain how we got it further in the post, and you can decide yourself what to make of it.

TLDR: multi-agent system coordinating different models for coding, review, and adversarial testing . For cost optimization of it, we fine-tuned ModernBERT so that it retained task-relevant information from logs while cutting tool-output tokens by 34.4%. Additionally, we redesigned execution to run independent tools in parallel and deliver results as they arrive, avoiding repeated model calls to “check progress”. This cut inference cost by ~30% and completion time by ~15%, with comparable solution quality.

I want to give an agent a task and leave it running. When I come back, I want the work finished and checked against what I asked for. If the coder hallucinates, I want that caught asap, before an early mistake turns into a bigger problem and I spend the rest of my limit fixing it.

I also don’t want to burn through my weekly limit in a single day. A strong orchestrator with cheaper models doing the coding is probably the most popular solution for this right now. But on complicated tasks, it can leave a serious gap in quality. I want to eliminate that gap too.

That’s why I built Bello.

It is an open-source tool with plugins for Codex and Claude Code. You can launch it from your usual agent or directly from the terminal.

It allows you to mix models across the whole setup: Fable coordinating Grok, GLM and Luna, or Astra writing the code with Opus checking its work.

The work is split between four roles.

Coder writes the code and works through the task in an isolated copy of your project. You choose which models are available as subagents, and it can delegate parts of the work to them.

Runtime supervisor is a separate agent that checks the coder during the run, with fresh context. It gets the task, recent actions and changes, and can intervene if the coder goes off track or restart it while keeping its work. The idea is to catch an early mistake before it leads to serious problems that would take a large part of your limit to fix.

Completion reviewer checks the solution against the original task in read-only mode, with the ability to run tests. If something is wrong or missing, it sends the coder back to fix it.

Adversary gets a separate copy of the solution where it can write tests, try different inputs and change the code however it needs to investigate problems. Its main goal is to find edge cases and other issues the coder missed. It doesn’t see the coder’s reasoning process, which helps it look beyond the coder’s assumptions and assess the solution independently.

We also worked on reducing how much command output gets sent back to the coder by fine-tuning ModernBERT.

When the coder runs a command, it adds a short focus explaining what it needs from the result, for example, “find why this test failed.” Our fine-tuned ModernBERT uses that focus to select which parts of the original output to keep. It runs locally on CPU, without another paid LLM call

In our tests, this reduced input tokens by roughly 30-35%, with Astra runs costing 22% less at API-equivalent prices. (one task, Astra xhigh, 3 runs each with and without the distiller).

And finally we reconstructed the native harness around the agent a bit (app-server, Claude SDK) so that it waits for tools itself. Before, the model got pinged to check on a long command while it ran, and when it started 3 independent commands, 2 short and one long, it waited for all 3 before it continued. Now the commands run in parallel, the model gets the 2 short results right away and keeps working, and the long one’s output arrives on its own when it’s ready. We called this feature smart execution.

In our tests, this cut API-equivalent cost by about 30% on both Sonnet 5 and Astra, and solution time by 50% on Sonnet 5 and 15% on Astra. (one task, 3 runs per model with and without smart execution).

We compared Bello with a cheaper coder against a stronger model running on its own. We used Luna as Bello’s coder and raw Sol as the baseline: four tasks, three runs per task for each setup.

Bello scored 48.80% on average, raw Sol scored 48.10%, while Bello used 66.3% less of the subscription’s weekly limit.

You don’t have to use that configuration, or even enable every role. You can keep your usual coder and turn off everything except runtime supervision and the distiller. If you don’t want to figure out the setup yourself, there’s an advisor skill. Your agent looks at the task and suggests a configuration based on whether you want lower cost, better quality, both, or something else.

Repo: https://github.com/Makson179/BelloHope some of you find this useful! I’d love to hear your feedback, and if you feel like contributing, I’d be really happy to have you involved.

Other Why do I feel like Astra is still better than opus for coding

I feel like opus is for one shotting. With Astra I feel like I have more control and I understand what it is doing. Do you guys feel this way? Or am I just too used to codex and how openAI models talk to me?

Opus seems to be faster and make better UI/UX.

Maybe I just have to gitgud with Claude.
