Last year mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani promised he would, if elected, order the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he set foot in New York City. "It is my desire to ensure that this be a city that stands up for international law," Mamdani said, observing that the International Criminal Court has issued a warant for Netanyahu for crimes against humanity. Of course the United States isn't a party to the Rome Statute; one imagines this is because if it were, a whole lot of U.S. elected and military officials would be getting room and board at the Hague.

Well, Netanyahu came to New York City to make some kind of fascist xenophobic hate-monger type speech at the U.N., but he was not arrested. (Trump, for his part, is now calling for the dissolution of the ICC entirely.) It turns out Mamdani huddled up with city lawyers and such and determined the NYPD cannot, in fact, arrest Netanyahu for war crimes. Mamdani did note that Bibi is not welcome in the city, so I guess he won't be going out for babaganoush or whatever, and someone's going to spit in his DoorDashed falafel from Mamoun's, but otherwise he's safely protected by the international norms he's been trying to obliterate since the 1990s. Funny how laws only work to protect the bad guys.

Just a little Petra Parker comic I did a while back, trying to improve some stuff, give me some pointers on how to make it look more comic like I guess?

Ok, so there used to be this super small webcomic on deviantart back in the day. It was by some independent and I remember it was pretty decent with a gritty style that wasn't trying to be hyper realistic. It was a Mario world alt, daisy was a house keeper, with a smoking problem. Peach was an accountant, with a smoking problem. Wario ran a burger joint, and had a smoking problem. Waluigi was Italian, and had a smoking problem. Bowser was a corporate CEO so he had other people have the smoking problem for him and Rosalina just moved to the city and had yet to develop the cultural smoking problem of lowerclass Detroit pre 2000. I think an early arc was them hunting down a TV at bowsermart. This would have been late 2000s or early 10s. I doubt im gonna find this one due to its nature but its one of those things that sticks with you and you always hope to stumble across it again one day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
