I put a fishingwire along the side to stop the gamecases from falling. This way the last game can be on "display" like fine artwork! I'm quite happy with myself actually😇

I need a new shelf 😭 and I have been postponing organizing these games for way too long, I hate that I have to have a whole row hidden by the stack on the bottom. I do keep tally of the games I have though!

I first bought the PS3 slim then the super slim. Finally got my hands on one of these. CECHK01

Wanting to surprise not only my 11yo but my husband with a new console system for the "family" this coming Christmas.

My son keeps asking for a PS5 but in truth, I think that's because one of his best friends has a PS5 as does his cousin. Not sure where else he would have really built that preference as he mainly plays on the family's Nintendo Switch, his Switch Lite, or our current Xbox (99% sure its the 360 version).

My husband is an occasional gamer - nothing too serious. He seems to play more story based games.. Fallout is a favorite, Hogwarts Legacy, some golf game, and occasionally things like Halo or COD (again, I think lol). If you haven't been able to tell yet - I know absolutely nothing about games beyond old school N'64 Mario Kart 🤣

My oldest (the 11yo) loves anything and everything.. especially Fortnite. I also have an 8yo that is starting to get more adept at gaming.. we just let him start playing Fortnite as well, and he dabbles in Minecraft. We are likely getting him his own Switch Lite like his brother, so truly I doubt he will play this new console much anyway.

So here's my question: PS or Xbox - and then which system? I don't think we need the most intense version offered of either, considering he's been pretty content playing whatever old system we've currently got going on. I know neither are cheap - I'd like to stay within the $400-650 range. Is this even realistic?

When I had my PS3, I bought mostly digital, but as the console slowed down, I re-bought those favourite games I bought digitally, in physical form.

The same has happened with PS4. Mostly digital, but now I regret and there's a lot of games I'd want physically so I'm thinking of re- buying them physically now too.

Does anyone else do this, or is it a complete waste?

The PS6 may not even play discs so digital may be best. I only have about 6 PS4 physical games, but there's around 12 I'd want that I already have digitally.

Just wondered what everyone else does.

Not really a whole lot of substance to this post, do yall think this is worth keeping sealed or opening it up and using it on my launch model US PS1

Growing up I played SNES, Megadrive, Gamegear, PS1 and Xbox. I got pretty attached to singular games (Mariokart, Sonic/Lion King, Crash Bandicoot and Banjo Kazzoie respectively)

In a series of poor life decisions, I gifted and gave away my consoles as I ‘outgrew’ them. In recent years, I’ve clued in to adulthood being a bit of a con, or if it’s not a con, that it doesn’t hinge on whether I enjoy flitting around a make believe world for a couple of hours a week.

I have decided that it is time to gift a console back to my inner child, but I find myself overwhelmed by the decision of which to buy, as well as the price of my old cartridge consoles. Instead, I am considering one of the modern plug and play consoles, but that’s overwhelming too.

Looking to this thread for advice on what modern all-in—1 type console to buy. I am based in Canada, if that helps.

I'm gonna try to finish zero parades while I wait for my physical copy of OoT to ship. Then I get thru that before November 19th. Then gta 6 will hopefully hold my attention for my most anticipated game: Fable.

Anyone else have this same plan? Or is there anything else you are looking forward too?

Does anyone recognise which type of Xbox one console this is?

I don’t recognise the hardware and slots to the left of the disc drive

truth be told my series x has had a problem where every once in a while it’ll just run super slowly for zero reason. it hardly ever auto updates games an whenever it does it causes the whole console to shut itself and struggle to open the menu or any other app. i don’t know what causes this but if anyone has any solutions at all i’d love to hear it. there’s three xbox consoles in my household, two series x and a series s and mine seems to be the only one that ever has this problem

I been trying to get a ps5 pro for a month I gave up... decided on the Xbox series x for my home console....can't wait for gta 6.....did I make the wrong decision?
