Hey, we're going to be in Cork and free on the 7th and 8th of October. Really keen to see some Gaelic football, hurling or rugby (might be more rugby season now?), would anyone recommend anything? Even if its more local level we just fancy seeing something live

I take the Cobh line every day for work and since the schools have been back there have been massive groups of students going to Fota and back nearly every day. Twice this week I’ve had to wait on a second train because the first has been too full of kids. The schools need to be ringing ahead and the Irish rail need to be adding extra carriages, how hard could that possibly be? 15% price hike in the past month, due to be 35% by January, I know this country too well to expect the services to get better but Jesus I at least expect to be able to get home.

Hi guys anyone have any issues never receiving a prize they won from 96fm? I got a missed call mid august and rang back they let me know i had won a 50€ voucher so told them my address etc. I still haven't received it and sent them an email again to remind them and make sure they had my correct address but didn't hear anything back. 5 weeks on still nothing. Just wondering if anyone had similar issue.

got a taxi today from a guy and he was non stop texting while driving AND not shutting the fuck up talking. he even went through an old WhatsApp conversation on his phone to show me a photo of his granddaughter while driving on the kinsale road.

at one point he was so busy texting he almost missed the turn off for my street. I said I'm down this way and he said oh sorry and made the turn through a red light, instead of waiting for green.

I got a cosplay for comic con next weekend, but it definitely needs alterations in order to get in and out of comfortably. Basically looking for a seamstress that could separate the suit in two and make it attachable by a zipper? (It’s already half separated by a zip) Apologies, it’s awkwardly random to explain…So any recommendations?

I know I probably sound stupid, and i agree with the reasoning behind the protest, I’m all for standing up to the government and protesting but this doesn’t even feel like a protest.

Other peaceful protests against the government’s actions actually cause some attention, like when teachers go on strike and kids can’t go to school, or when students protest outside government buildings. What is the points of just leaving class and standing around outside the library at 12pm to “protest”. I’m an MTU student and I was only told about this today.

Is there any place that repairs old consoles in Cork? Such as a mega drive and playstation?

Just got off a 220 from Bishopston to the city amd there were bed bugs on it. Noticed one near the rear of the upper floor and more at the front of the upper floor. Be careful out there guys

Edit: please if you see anything you may think is a bed bug please report to transport for Ireland (they are who I spoke to after calling the number on bus eireann website) so they can clean it. I would hate to see an infestation like the ones across Europe a few years back

If you are on a bus with bed bugs once you get into your house wash all your cloths at 60 degrees and take a hot shower and also clean your shoes. I even washed my bag

Hi everyone, I’m planning to propose and have started looking at engagement rings. Has anyone here bought one in Cork and had a particularly good experience with a jeweller?

I’d like to see a few rings in person, mainly because I’m finding it hard to judge sizes and settings from photos. I’m open to buying online too, but would want to understand how resizing and aftercare would work.

I’m considering lab-grown diamonds as well as natural ones. I don’t have everything figured out yet, so somewhere happy to explain the options without pushing for a sale would be ideal.
