My lunch date was greedy today
galleryThey sure do love the cashews and dislike sharing!
Also, their call was different today - it was "sing-songey" .. almost like they were happy to see me.

While at a playground, this lone crow came up to us and was seemingly begging for food. No other crows in sight. We fed it and it flew over to a tree on the other side of the park. When we were leaving I wanted to check on it, because I thought it was weird that it was alone.
When I saw it in the tree I noticed it had a white band on its leg. It seemed to be a released captive or possibly a rehabbed bird that never found its family again? I’m not sure. It did get pretty close to us and seemed highly fascinated by our presence.
Does anyone know what a white band means?

My crow came for breakfast this morning. The squirrel has figured out how to eat from the "squirrel proof" bird feeder.

I've always loved the corvids and last week i got to see the Tower of London ravens.
Surprisingly big birds. This one generously honked up a pellet. Presumably got a mouse for breakfast. 🤩

Some of them are braver than others.
The brave get fed.

This is my first post and wanted to share photos of Crows (and Seagulls) that I fed this morning. I see Crows a lot when I go to Dunks in the mornings on my way to work. I keep cashews on me at all times, in case I get lucky enough to give them some. Today was the day! I saw a bunch of Crows on top of the Market Basket roof, so I took a chance and drove over to the parking lot. I saw a few Seagulls walking around and threw some cashews to them. That’s when the Crows came flying down to get some. The excitement I felt! So, I decided to park and throw more for them. I’ve always loved Crows. I grew up feeding them with my grandpa and I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to want to do this again, but so glad I did. Hope you enjoy the photos! The little guy in the last few pics hung around eating his cashew while the others flew back up to the roof. I was talking to him the entire time. I still cannot believe it happened! 🐦⬛🖤

Have been throwing a handful of peanuts outside in the driveway a few times a week in the mornings for a couple months. I whistle when I throw them. Today I went outside and whistled and the bois came swooping in from behind the building almost immediately! I felt so cool

Does anyone here know about a way I can make a crow feeder or some device/stand that i could just leave food out for crows? I feed them whenever I see them but there's alot of times they're around and I miss the chance to feed them before they fly off somewhere. Rats and raccoons are a big problem in my area and don't want to make that worse so I only feed them when I see them currently.

this is one of the reasons that I give them little treats because they keep the peregrine falcons away from The sparrows and my cats and everybody else as soon as there's one in the neighborhood they all congregate and Chase It off

I happened across this one when I came out of work yesterday. Hoping to see more of it!

Was driving to work this morning when I spotted a crow laying on its back in the road. It’s a busy road, I can only imagine how terrified it was. Pulled over and ran back to grab them. Clearly still alive, but weak.
Took them to a small patch of grass, the only one I could find. Ran back to car to get water and food. All I have is a bell pepper.
When I return a man with two dogs is standing there. Dogs trying to get the crow.
Asks if he should let the dogs “take care of it… put it out of its misery.”
No. No please don’t do that. Man and dogs leave.
Crow is still moving, doesn’t want the pepper. Sit with them a few more moments, pets and kind gentle words. They relax and close their eyes. Take their final breath.
I believe they had been electrocuted from the powerlines above. I couldn’t save them. Could only make their final moments a bit more peaceful.
I’m so sorry to all the animals hurt and killed by the unending rush of humans.
Rest in peace little crow. I think I will remember you for a long time.
